Genuine question about women's attraction

Loubanez · 12/10/2025 00:36

Today I was 35 (M) unscrewing a shelf from the wall of our living room, while meanwhile I had our 4 week old son asleep happy and attached to me in a sling.
I glanced over to the other side of the room and my wife was watching me with a slight grin and lustful look in her eye,
I asked her, 'whats up' she said she found it very attractive that a man has a maternal side, ie looking after the baby. She said she found it attractive any also many other women would. I disagreed thinking it was un-man like to be looking after a child in that way and that many women would be naturally put off by a man undertaking that role that is usually by a women.
Anyway we had a small discussion and thought we would put it to a poll.
What do you guys think?

@Loubanez It's not 'helping out'. You are both parents. You are not coming across as attractive in the slightest.

I personally think you should not be dismantling shelves from a wall with a 4 week old strapped to your front. Absolutely no way.

How is that different to a mother having a baby in the sling doing housework?

A new baby in a sling, plus DIY? Have you no common sense?
Put the baby safely down in another room, away from all the dust and potential to have a shelf land on it's head. Dear god, I've heard some daft stuff on here.
Go to some basic parenting classes and get yourself informed.

It was literally a 6 inch by 3 inch piece of plywood held in by two 1 inch screws, i think you are over-reacting
slings are used to allow to do house work all the time.

You are right, parenting is a 50/50 Job ... I can't 'help out' any more than I already am on that side.
It's not helping out.
You sound a right twat with your untill men can grow breasts and produce milk,

I’m sorry but let me ignore the rest of this post and focus solely on you having a 4 week old baby attached to your chest in a sling, while unscrewing a shelf from the wall.

Please, never do that again.

carmak · 12/10/2025 15:32

A 6x3inch bit of plywood? A shelf you say? 😃

This. ^ Also, @Loubanez I am not sure what you're asking, but I do feel like I am reading some sleazy chick lit novel when reading your posts - especially the first post! 😬

Was this a shelf for a mouse house @Loubanez ???

I am not over reacting. You said it was a shelf. Now of course, we find out it's not a shelf, but what appears to be something akin to a wooden ruler. 🙄
If you explain yourself a bit more clearly, that would help.

So. Originally it's a shelf.
Now, with concerns about Child Protection and Safeguarding..... it's a wooden ruler, somehow attached to a wall...😂😂

shhblackbag · 12/10/2025 15:41

This is uncreative ragebait even for this place.

Behave yourself! This is a man who can put a baby in a sling and also remove screws!
Ignore the mouse house and genuflect!

Does he own a bookshop, do we think? Has he got chestnut hair and piercing blue eyes?

I don't normally quote whole long posts but reading that genuinely makes me wonder if you've read and actually understood anything that's been said on this thread.
Lack of reading comprehension would be a huge turn off for me.

Edited

Also, the definition of the word shelf.

Bladderpool · 12/10/2025 15:50

Does anyone remember that tedious Athena poster of generic hot guy holding a tiny baby? I think “man here” is aiming for that image.

carmak · 12/10/2025 15:53

You should have got the baby to do it.

RavenPie · 12/10/2025 15:53

This is such a weird thread - holding a baby is womanly - so womanly that it’s sexy - men “help out” their wives by doing the most basic of basic parenting - mouse shelves for mouse speakers - roadman slang - women work because their husbands drink and watch porn.., it’s just so odd. Well done to the OP for managing to have his own baby in a sling for 5 minutes though - super good job and so sexy. Apparently.

AmIthatSpringy · 12/10/2025 15:54

oh dear. Poor baby.
