I’m sure this is rife and they were just very unlucky! One of my managers lives with a colleague through the week and goes home to his wife at the weekend. Any more?

One of the managers at work is well known for shagging his subordinates. His current wife was one and he left his first wife for her.

Crazymayfly · 20/07/2025 12:21

Boss at work has worked his way through so many women at the office - from receptionist level to partner level (law firm). Has had about six longer term affairs in last ten years and many ONSs. His wife knows - she was his secretary (she was married at the time, only moved in together about a week before their baby was due).

Bonkers that she’s happy to live with him shagging his way around the local office but the relationship must suit her.

Sounds like my exh!

My almost ex husband is a senior manager and had/having an affair with a more junior colleague!
This makes me wonder how many of their colleagues knew and accepted it.

incognitomouse · 20/07/2025 17:36

We have to complete a conflict of interest form which includes relationships in the workplace, so pretty sure I'd get sacked.

Navigatinglife100 · 20/07/2025 17:44

When I was a junior I went to the Christmas meal and then a bunch of us went back to one of the partners homes. This was a professional firm and I had had a few more drinks than I'd have liked too so thought I'd join the others, sobor up a bit, and then catch the bus home.

When we got there, the drinks came out, I reverted to lemonade. After a while I noticed the partner and another member of staff had disappeared. I mentioned it quietly to my senior manager as it felt odd being at a party of someone who had "left"....... only for her to tell me what was going on! I felt sooooooo naive!!! Then so disappointed that someone I'd looked up to was such a snake - in his own family home!!!

In teaching, everyone is having it off with each other. I worked in one school where three middle aged married deputy heads were all having an affair with three young gorgeous members of staff. In my last school the deputy head had an affair with a Maths teacher (she was married) and they ended up getting married. Then the head teacher had an affair with the geography teacher (both married) and they were always looking for hiding places on the school premises or arranging all day meetings off site. They both divorced and to my knowledge are still together ten years on.

Everyone always knows about the affairs too and that can be awkward. Anyway it’s rife.

cstaff · 20/07/2025 17:56

Wonder how many more coldplay concerts that "couple" will appear at. They must love chris martin 😆.

Klp122 · 20/07/2025 17:57

Affairs are everywhere in the police and law firms. I've worked for both and police Christmas parties were notorious for it, and I've known several law firm partners having affairs with their secretaries.

Apparently it also happens a lot between vets and their clients (not patients) Confused

I married my boss…both single but felt very guilty for falling for each other as workplace is strict on relationships!

DH (who was more senior than me!) started putting in transfer requests for other teams (insisting that I stay and work towards a promotion) after we’d been on one date and insisted on doing nothing more than kissing (in remote pubs well away from work) until at least his transfer was agreed by HR. Tbf his insistence on doing things “properly” showed me that he was a genuine good egg and made me even keener 😂.

Still together, very happy and working in different departments of the same company 10 years later. Made me very aware of how easy it is to become close to colleagues when working on busy/stressful stuff though!

Klp122 · 20/07/2025 18:00

A Team Leader at a call centre I once worked at was notorious for bedding female staff, especially new staff. Even if they weren't single. He himself had a long distance girlfriend who he insisted was just a friend. Nasty, nasty piece of work.

MegaMinion34 · 20/07/2025 18:02

There's a fairly senior manager at my work who has had affairs with at least 3 of his colleagues. Left his wife for the first one, then left the first one for the second one, and so on. The one he is currently with was also married to someone else when the affair began. Having worked with him myself I cannot for the life of me understand how he has so many women throwing themselves at him, but... 😆

Howtotrainarabbit · 20/07/2025 18:05

Obviously it happens! So unlucky for the couple at the Coldplay concert but they also deserved it!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 20/07/2025 18:08

My work is full of relationships.. most of them legitimate.

LemonGinAndTonic · 20/07/2025 18:19

@IcebreakhellI had a similar manager years ago! Well known for his affairs. My secretary at the time told me all the gossip as she used to work for him! Was this law?

I imagine affairs and the corporate world go hand in hand due to needing a decent amount of ego/ arrogance to rise to the top.

Octoberfest · 20/07/2025 18:32

Very little of has gone on in my workplaces (science related) - as far as I'm aware

GettingHothothotter · 20/07/2025 18:41

I know someone who works in Asda and she says all the staff are at it with each other.

BigFatLiar · 20/07/2025 18:45

The first office I worked in was all female, mostly young, not entirely though. ONS's were all the rage even among the married or engaged. It was almost a competition to see who could have the most men.

We had a young lady who had an affair with her manager, he moved on after his wife became suspicious. She then had an affair with his replacement who later left. She had an affair with the next one who then transferred to another branch. Finally she had an affair with the next manager who left his wife and family for her. As far as I know they're still together.

We used to have company meetings. A couple of days in a hotel with people from all around the country. First time I went it was an eye opener ss nobody took any notice of who was sleeping with whom. Well not until afterwards when it was a source of gossip.

Was it in Manchester (uk) 👀👀? If so I bet it’s the same manager I’m talking about… sounds similar

Sdpbody · 20/07/2025 19:48

It’s rife in the police. Absolutely rife.

LemonGinAndTonic · 20/07/2025 19:57

Not Manchester, no. Just another sleazy man.

LoughboroughBex · 20/07/2025 20:01

Worked in a warehouse type setting. Two managers had an affair, he left his wife and they got married. The wife also worked there and all 3 continued to work there. Female manager had to park her car in the secure yard as it kept getting keyed in the main car park.

Edited

Primary or secondary?

As a single, straight female I didn't meet a single male in primary to have any sort of relationship with. Nearly every school were a female team.

@Sdpbody - yep!
My husband had an affair with his colleague. Too much time spent in parked up patrol cars, drinking post shift in the police bar and too many ‘end of the week’ shift nights out (midweek), when I had to be at work the next day.

They all knew.

I should have expected it. When I met him and was getting to know his colleagues it was ‘that was…who is married to PC1, but used to be married to PC2...who is now married to DI3’

So much so that I can remember commenting ‘wow, I bet all (force name) kids look alike’!

Sainsburys the same, affairs galore especially managers.
