1.5 years for me

Isamummy2021 · 26/03/2025 00:09

First husband 5 years and we co parent brilliant always have we had the same values on parenting, we still do since separating.

I have 1 child with my now husband we were together 2 years and we are completely at odds in respect of parenting I adore her but if I'd known then what I know now I probably wouldn't have wanted a child with him but obviously I have no regrets the good thing is her but he's completely opposite to me in parenting and won't compromise. Together almost 6 years now and it's very tough it's definitely affected our relationship. Maybe 2 years wasn't enough time to really know him.

6 weeks (before pregnancy) and would not recommend.

MrsFrumble · 26/03/2025 00:11

Together for 10, married for 5. We’re lucky to have met in our early 20s so had the luxury of time in our side.

PandaG · 26/03/2025 00:12

11 years to the day.... But then, we were 16 and 17 when we started dating!

MsNevermore · 26/03/2025 00:13

We’d been together 3 years. I found out I was pregnant with DC1 about 6 weeks after we got married. Had DC2 16 months later. DC3 was a drunken “oopsie” 2 years after that.
We divorced when DC3 was 2.

Also 12 years!

YourEarsCouldWinPrizes · 26/03/2025 00:15

15 years when we had our DS. 22 years together now. We regularly say how glad we are that we had such a long time together beforehand to live our lives. Now we parent brilliantly because we know each other so well and we don't resent the sacrifices needed in a relationship when kids come along.

MsTada · 26/03/2025 00:16

17 years before we started trying for a baby, but we got together very young (we were only 15 and 17 years old).

FaithFables · 26/03/2025 00:19

EconomyClassRockstar · 26/03/2025 00:20

Silentdream · 26/03/2025 00:46

About 20 years. Got together when I was early 20’s and had a child early 40’s.

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/03/2025 00:50

We met when I was 23, he was 29. We married a year later and we decided to start our family 5 years later. Our daughter was born 10 months later.

StampOnTheGround · 26/03/2025 00:54

Another one that’s 12 years!

PiastriThePastry · 26/03/2025 00:57

Nigh on 6 years when we had our oldest, but we started ttc when we’d been together 3.5 years/just got married.

Dweetfidilove · 26/03/2025 01:03

Incakewetrust · 26/03/2025 01:04

We’d been together just under 2 years when I got pregnant. We found out shortly before our wedding.

FrauPaige · 26/03/2025 01:06

TheOriginalCrazyLady · 26/03/2025 01:18

Almost 10 years after having gotten together at about 17.

DressingGown · 26/03/2025 01:18

DC1 - 12 years and he left when DC1 was 4 months old.

DC2 - just under 2 years. Now married and all 4 of us very happy a decade or so later.
