Does it bother you when another woman ends messaging to your husband with kisses when talking about work stuff

I never do this when talking to males at work

Am I overthinking

Recently a lady my oh working with sent three kisses

It annoys me

I don’t think it’s weird and agree it’s just an automatic thing that most people add to the end of texts now, I know I do. We have a Whatsapp work group and everyone in there ends their message with “x”

With other people's partners three kisses just seems bizarre.

Maybe I am overthinking but it does annoy me.

Maybe I am too sensitive just don't like it.

3 kisses is inappropriate. I don't put any kisses in my work chats, it's over-familiar and not business-like.

Exactly

Elphamouche · 03/10/2024 17:02

God good no, certainly not an issue in our eyes. We both put kisses on most texts! Colleagues of both sexes included. Doesn’t mean anything!

roseyn91 · 03/10/2024 17:03

I think it is too familiar especially with someone's partner and could be interpreted differently

OP posts:
NahNotHavingIt · 03/10/2024 17:04

It's unprofessional but not sure why you're so annoyed about it.

Do you think she's trying to flirt with him? Because if so, surely the content of the actual message would give the game away?

Agree. I’ve never sent or been sent an email or work message to it’s even 1 x let alone xxx

We've got a work WhatsApp and teams chat and even on those less formal outlets there’s no xx

AuntieStella · 03/10/2024 17:07

What I’m taking from this thread is that no-one knows whether ending texts with xx is flirty or not

But lots think it’s inappropriate for work (so if he is her boss or has any form of mentoring role, he should tell her how to avoid inadvertently looking unprofessional)

I think it’s a shame that xx no longer has a meaning. I mean, I’m far too long out of the game, but the erosion of the little frissons is a shame

Ours too.

BrendaSmall · 03/10/2024 17:11

🤣🤣
if husband is busy and his phone goes, he’ll ask me to read his texts and then asks me to send a reply, I automatically put xxx at the end
🤣🤣🤣

Not sure she is someone he briefly known for years but in two days last week I heard her name mentioned to me three times bout something he agrees with her about. He told me story one day and then the next day.
Something just bothered me about this.
You know mentionitis

Are you prone to a bit of jealousy? This wouldn't bother me but I can see why someone who can be jealous would be annoyed by it.

anotherusernameforme · 03/10/2024 17:13

If it was regular it'd probably bother me.
Who can honestly say they've never accidentally added a kiss to a work text or email and wanted to die afterwards? I definitely have 😆

I do feel jealous but try to hide it

Yeah it annoyed me when I saw it happening. I’m sure I’ll get a pile on here. I’m older middle aged. I don’t put kisses on texts to anyone except very good friends. Never a male colleague.

He always replied without kisses so that was good. But yeah I get it. It’s not nice to see. I felt like saying ‘oy piss off with your kisses that’s my husband’ 😂

I was just about to post that maybe she put them there by accident because she messaged him just after messaging someone else - I am guilty of this one so often... but this message puts a different spin on it.

You obviously feel uncomfortable about her and your spidey senses are tingling for a reason which is why the kisses seem odd.

I guess all you can do for now is keep an eye on things and see if anything else seems suspicious about your partner's behaviour.

NahNotHavingIt · 03/10/2024 17:16

You only have to look at all the threads and posts on here where MNetters end with 'xx'.

It was almost unheard of a couple of years ago, but you see it more and more now.

And I'm pretty sure they're not flirting 😬

roseyn91 · 03/10/2024 17:16

I'm just feeling unsettled recently. Whenever I start to feel secure something else comes up/change/new people

OP posts:
Candleabra · 03/10/2024 17:17

I never put kisses on texts to men I’m not very close to or want to be. I’m especially careful not to do this with work colleagues to avoid any misunderstanding about being “friendly”.

roseyn91 · 03/10/2024 17:18

It was work message but I just feel slightly uneasy

Yeah, agree with this. Your update changes my view. Keep eyes and ears open.

whsm17 · 03/10/2024 17:22

If she is like that with everyone then u have nothing to worry but I'd not then I think husband should say "no need for kiss emoji , it sounds inappropriate"
