I found an engagement ring!!!!!

After almost 7 years together and hoping that I'd get a proposal... I've just accidentally found the ring!!!!!!!! Putting his flaming underwear away, stuffed at the back of the drawer! Of course I looked... tried it on... it's exactly what I'd wanted and is my size! I'm overjoyed! But annoyed I found it too!

I can't tell anyone of course... I have to keep it all in! But... ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm just so freakin' excited!!!!!!!

I really hope he does it soon... he knows I don't do flashy, public things. So I'm hoping it's romantic and just the two of us, or just our family (we both have children from previous relationships). He knows me so well though so I'm sure it will be lovely. He's a teacher, so I'm guessing something might happen over the summer holidays 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞. Or perhaps it could be later this year near my 40th. I'm guessing it won't be for my 40th though, he wouldn't do it then. But he might do it around that time.

For flips sake OP I've been following this thread from the day you posted and I've patiently been checking updates and waiting for the photo of the ring on your finger as have many others. Your man needs to stop dilly dallying now and get a move on! You need to tell him soooooo many people are now invested in this proposal and our patience is wearing thin lmao

I still have butterflies with DH, and we act like silly teenagers together too despite being in our 40s. Life is too short to not enjoy it as much as you can. We've been together 11 years and married for 6.

He also proposed on holiday but he got too excited and basically asked as soon as we checked into the hotel on the first night. I told him I wanted him on one knee 🤣 So he actually did. Later that night as we were on a bridge over a river. Just a shame he chose the road bridge and not the foot bridge and we had roadworks all around us but we laugh our heads off at that. It was our romantic moment. 😁

It's just occured to me OP and her partner got together when he had a pregnant ex wife/newborn baby. Does that gross anyone else out? I don't have a double standard, I wouldn't expect the mother of a newborn to be prioritising her sex life either! Becoming a father for the first time is such a life changing experience and he was focusing on getting his next wife.

OP might be rounding up how long they've been together and SD might be closer to 8 than 7, in which case there might be a bigger gap between her birth and then getting together than it initially appears, especially if her DP and his former partner broke up early in the pregnancy.
