Does anyone know what this picture is please? It's not a padlock. Just a flat piece of metal with Room 5 engraved on it? Has anyone seen similar before + enlighten me please?

What is this please?

I had something like this quite a few years ago during covid when I was working away. It was for a hotel room. It was attached to a key.

BeCleverSquid · 29/06/2024 08:43

To go on a key for a hotel room

Bearpawk · 29/06/2024 09:03

Assume you have found this in partners stuff ?

CourtenayDevon · 29/06/2024 09:17

That is a stamping 'blank' and someone has hand stamped the numbers/letters on with punch tools.

Pombearprincess · 29/06/2024 09:19

I would guess that it's probably a keyring tag for a hotel room.

HarelessMiffy · 29/06/2024 09:21

Yes, that's a tag from a room key.

ByRealHelper · 29/06/2024 11:53

I thought that but no key attached 🤷‍♀️

They give them out in those gay sauna kinds of places.

ByRealHelper · 29/06/2024 18:37

Really???

OP posts:
Bobbotgegrinch · 29/06/2024 18:52

If DP found that in one of my pockets, she'd assume if was some random bit of crap I'd picked up off the floor because it looked fairly unique.

Given that you've posted on relationships about it, I'm guessing you have other evidence that suggests it may have more significance?

ByRealHelper · 29/06/2024 19:09

Yep. Wasn't in pockets. Was on his fob with car keys + house key.

OP posts:
DatingDinosaur · 29/06/2024 19:14

Is it a new addition to his keyring?

Might have sentimental value for something long past.

Edit: I'm only saying that because I have something similar on my keyring that was left to me in my grandad's will.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 29/06/2024 19:28

The 'padlock' also has '3.1' on it.
There is a place called E-mersion 3.1 in Aix le Bains (France) that seems to be a virtual reality centre. Would that mean anything to you?

ByRealHelper · 29/06/2024 19:46

No. We live in a totally different country. He has never been to France + is not into gaming whatsoever but thanks.

New addition. I live with him + have known him for years so I know he has lost nobody close to him so no sentimental value.
Also, I found this a few weeks + removed it + he has not brought the subject up.

OP posts:
Cosycore · 29/06/2024 19:51

Can you not just ask him about it?

WhatFlavourIsIt · 29/06/2024 19:54

I have something similar on my keyring. One of my boys made it in metal work, I think. Why didn't you just ask him?

ByRealHelper · 29/06/2024 20:09

Cos I know I won't get a straight answer from him so was hoping to get an idea of what it was from external sources. There are other little niggly things going on, just like trying to put a jigsaw together.

"I found this a few weeks + removed it."

Why?

Is there a reason you didn't just ask him what it was?

Moving forwards, just say to him you was cleaning up and found this on the floor and does he know what it is. A little white lie maybe but it opens the conversation.

Moonlightstaralight · 29/06/2024 20:14

Was he away working or on holiday without you in the time immediately preceding this appearing on his key fob?

StormingNorman · 29/06/2024 20:14

Did he spend any nights away before this turned up?

StormingNorman · 29/06/2024 20:14

That's the issue really. You know you won't get a straight answer. And there lies the problem.
