We are on holiday, checked my husband's phone to find this emoji🄲 not in contacts, no other messages.
How do I find who sent it if it's not on his contacts short of calling them and what could I say they aren't going to say who they are.
I was having such a nice time too 😭

I don't understand- do you mean it was a text from a number not saved as a contact?

Sashya · 29/05/2024 17:53

Seriously? You are wasting a holiday worrying a single unexplained emoji???
Unless there is a huge back story and oodles of suspicious behaviour - I'd say - you need to give your head a shake.

Menomeno · 29/05/2024 17:56

Make a note of the number and save it in your phone as a contact. They’ll show up on WhatsApp.

Yes exactly that.

I think they have to be one of my contacts to do that though

Why are you checking his phone on holiday? Do you have a reason to be suspicious? What do you think the message means?

Yes, save them as a contact in your phone.

I honestly don't know what it means!

The actual emoji means "Phew" - type that in and it comes up.
So it could be work related or anything really.

At least it's not an aubergine and water splash or a peach!

AnnieSF · 29/05/2024 18:37

I thought it is a crying emoji?

You don't sound unhinged. Some people really need to go back and do some basic dictionary work.

How very kind of you

I think it's the fact that's it's not a number he's saved, so why not is it saved. Because I'd see it and want to know who?
Why have they sent this emoji?
Should I call them and withhold?
He has a history so....

OP posts:
annabofana · 29/05/2024 18:47

You need to save it as a contact on WhatsApp and see what photo comes up, as previous poster said

BlastedPimples · 29/05/2024 18:48

He has a history of what? Cheating on you?

Hydrate100 · 29/05/2024 18:49

I'm on a WhatsApp group with a group of colleagues. Some are saved as contacts and some aren't depending on how well I know them. Perhaps it's something like that? Are there any replies before ?

MummyDummyNow · 29/05/2024 18:51

@AnnieSF I thought that too until someone sent it to me and it wasn't in context at all so looked it up!

Muffin101 · 29/05/2024 18:51

Holly67800 · 29/05/2024 18:03

I think they have to be one of my contacts to do that though

So save them as a contact?
Honestly op you don’t trust him at all and he has ā€˜history’, presumably you mean he’s cheated in the past.. is this really worth it??

crochetmonkey74 · 29/05/2024 18:53

Put it in your phone , sometimes WhatsApp shows a name , save as a contact and you can view the picture

Illpickthatup · 29/05/2024 18:55

There's obviously a reason you were checking his phone and a reason you're suspicious.

Even if I saw the šŸ† šŸ‘ šŸ’¦ emoji on my DHs phone I wouldn't be suspicious because I trust him completely. I'd know it was just one of the boys.

He's not saved the number for obviously reasons and the fact there's just the one text makes me think he's been deleting messages as he goes so there's no trace.

Everythingiscalmfornow · 29/05/2024 18:59

I know nothing about this but my instincts when I saw the emoji was it was a crying face because the person sending it was missing the recipient.
And whoever sent it is trying to be as anonymous as possible incase the wrong person sees it.
Given you say there is history I'm afraid that's the conclusion I'm going with.

No as if they are deleted

shame you didn't say in your opening post that he has ' history '

Holly67800 · 29/05/2024 19:49

Yes deleted so no trace so how can I go about finding their identity? Other than wassap?
