DP hasn’t come home

DP went on night out with his brother, I woke up about 20 mins ago and he’s still not home so text him asking where he is. He says they’re at a flat in a town in the opposite direction of our house playing a board game with people they met at the pub/bar they were at.

Am I wrong in thinking this is extremely weird? I know he’s telling the truth and tbh I’m not sure what the point of this post is as I’m not annoyed, tbh I don’t even know if I should be? Just very confused and think this is odd? What would you think?

Depends on your ages? Teens and 20s was all about the random nights!

If you have dc together, then probably not great...

Perfectly put

If you know that he’s not shagging someone, then I can’t see the problem, he’s free to do what he pleases.

34weekmess · 13/01/2024 07:29

A board game at this time after a night out ? Bet it's like the mad hatters tea party 😆

Shiningout · 13/01/2024 07:46

Don't want to overreact at all but he's not ever been one to take coke or anything has he? I must admit I'd be a bit baffled at playing board games until 6am having been up all night drinking etc.

allaboardtheskytrain · 13/01/2024 07:49

Who can stay up until 5am unless they're on drugs?

crumblingschools · 13/01/2024 07:53

@DustyLee123 if there are DC surely he has some responsibility towards them not just assume OP will be there for them

Lots of people!

BelindaOkra · 13/01/2024 08:04

Until recently if someone told me their partner was doing this I’d think how odd. Now I’d suspect coke.

Me, if I'm having a good time!

Yes same here. A lot more people take it than we realise. And it can make someone appear more sober so if they've been drinking all night and still seem okay at 6am it's likely because of coke.

SKG231 · 13/01/2024 09:40

Doesn’t matter if its innocent or not, it’s disrespectful for him to have not got in touch with you to let you know he was safe and alive and not coming home!

Nchanged89 · 13/01/2024 10:48

What board games were they playing?

Frasers · 13/01/2024 10:49

What board game? Is it something like dungeons and dragons.

I think as you know that’s what they are doing I don’t see the issue

I’ve 100% done this on more than one occasion, it seems like a good idea at the time 😂

Hibernatalie · 13/01/2024 10:59

Do you have DC? If no, then fine. If yes, did he previously agree with you that he would need you to be home with the kids Friday night and also look after them alone all Saturday while he catches up on sleep? If no - not ok.

34weekmess · 13/01/2024 11:47

I bet op's dh is feeling fresh right about now !!

booboo24 · 13/01/2024 11:48

I'm 47, don't even really drink that much but can easily stay up all night if I'm having a good laugh with friends. I've never touched coke!

Op if you trust him, and you know who he's with, then granted I'd be hugely pissed off about it, but I'd get over it I think. Not sure how I'd feel about the random people he was with actually, that does seem a bit off......if it became a regular occurrence then it would be a different story

I’m on my 50’s never touched drugs and we stay out dancing til sunrise when we go to house music weekends

It takes a week to recover though 😀

determinedtomakethiswork · 13/01/2024 11:54

It all depends on your partner really. With my ex this would've been very bad news. With other male friends I know it would be fine.

34weekmess · 13/01/2024 11:57

I'd be more inclined to think drugs are involved because he's with a bunch of randoms they've met at a bar in someone's flat. If he was at a friends or his brothers then it could be more innocent, so just because of that I'd say they're on the sesh

MadamVastra · 13/01/2024 12:00

Yes when I was younger I could stay out all night and go to work the next day

now not so much

Branleuse · 13/01/2024 12:03

id assume on coke or mdma
