Where did you meet your partner?

I've been a single mum for a while now and would like to meet someone (this year hopefully!), however it feels like a total minefield 🥲

I'm looking for some inspiration so would like to ask, where did you meet your partner?

Pub 1975, he's just doing the washing up in the campervan. I cooked so he refused to let me help . Might be a keeper!

On holiday!

The pub. He was the bar man and I thought, 'Phwoar, he's a bit of alright', apparently he thought similar about me and that was that, he was in the process of moving out of his mums, got the flat and I never went home 😂. Worked out quite well, we'll have been together 20 years in August.

Married a year later

We were set up on a blind date in 1993. Feels like yesterday but 20 years of marriage and 4 kids later it also feels like forever (in a good way)

@LittleGreenDuck @WillYouPutYourCoatOn for me it was on this day in 2012, I was feeling a bit sorry for myself, 8 years single but not looking for anyone. I was a bit bored so decided to add a lot of "friends you may know" (men and women) they weren't friends but more acquaintances and peoples faces I knew. I added him, he messaged me about two weeks later saying "do I know you?" 🤦🏻‍♀️ the rest is history. Been together 12 years this year and have two wonderful daughters.

A pub 😂 i had just moved to the area, went in for a celebration tipple alone. Got chatting. Married now. (It was a wetherspoons 😅)

Volunteering at Uni.

In an online game. We chatted a lot and then started meeting up. Within 6 months I moved to his city and we've been together 15 years now.

University

Work. Not in the same team but we were on the same office floor.

Anout 15 years ago. We met through a mutual friend.

My dd met her boyfriend on tinder other dd met hers on a night out.

I was lodging with a lady while I was at uni, her brother came to stay with her for a few days while he did some work stuff in the area (he lived in a different country). He was absolutely gorgeous, shamelessly invited him out for drinks for my birthday with my pals and 6 years later my uni landlady is my SIL and we have two kids 😅

Conference, 1997

I was an exchange student in the USA, I only has a couple of months left and a roommate in my off-campus house share moved out, as she had graduated from her program and she sublet to DH who moved in. He was a stranger to all of us.

Just to add, we married within 12 months, happily married for 27 years with 3 kids.

Bumble, last December. Very happy 1 year on.

At the gym, it's packed with older singles and newly divorced. I worked in and around gyms and leisure centres and you can see relationships slowly blossom every day. Almost all my friends are coupled with someone they met at the gym or its peripheral activities.
