I think my partner is going to propose tomorrow...

Today he has been making me stand with my hands across my eyes, to take Polaroid photos of me.

So, this morning he took one of me next to the Christmas tree with my eyes closed. I couldn't open them until he'd left the room.

Then he's done a few more at random places across the day....

I don't want to get my hopes up but what is he hiding!? What is this about!!!

Excited but still need to keep my cool just in case it's something completely different haha.

If it is a proposal at least he is putting some thought into it. My DH asked me if we should get married as I was walking him to the bus station after a visit. I said that that would be a good idea. No romantic proposal. We are still married almost 40 years on.

My DH "proposed" in a kitchen reject shop...

I can only surmise that there are a few seniors on here who don’t get it. But I am fairly mature myself and don’t go on sm, but even I got that she was being sarky. Come on, ladies get with it.

It can mean a few things! It can be used to mean something that should be positive going awry - depends on context. But I think OP was using it to make clear that, yes of course she does want to be engaged!

I confess if my partner repeatedly asked me to cover my eyes while taking my photograph I would be saying "what? why? no!" but I am not of the TikTok generation.

That said, we have also been together forever and I think I actually proposed by text message while on a business trip to Rome when my partner was in the UK, so I also don't qualify as a romantic!

I find it such an odd quirk of MN that it's often considered sad and uncool to be excited about a proposal, and more acceptable to text your partner from a different country.

In real life, people get excited about a big life event; it's fun and romantic whether you have 3 kids or none or 10.
