OLD, why so much interest from younger men?

I have tentatively dipped my toe into OLD after coming out of a very long marriage at the start of this year. At first I set the age preference within 5 years either side of my actual age, I am 44 BTW. I have had a steady stream of interest, but habe not had a lot of luck. Either ones who would be frightening over keen before you had even met, ones who match and then never reply to a message, or others that send inappropriate photos within a couple of hours of chatting.

A friend recommended changing my age perimeters, which I did yesterday. I have since been inundated with men in their early 30's, some really attractive. I have a young looking face, but would consider myself fairly average looking. Why would all these younger men be interested. I am absolutely baffled.

These younger men want fun sex (nothing more) with an older woman. There’s been lots of threads about this on mumsnet. It’s quite common. If you’re looking for something serious, ignore them.

I think it’s a combination of things that makes 40+ women so popular for hook ups:

1 You’re sexually experienced and probably more confident in bed

2 You’re more likely to be financially independent and offer to pay on a date

3 You're more likely to own your own home so they don’t have to pay for a hotel room

4 You’re mature enough to say what you want without game playing and understand what No strings sex is.

It's just a thing. Young men like older women.

They are often looking for no strings sex with women who they find attractive but wouldn't want to be in a 'get married settle down' relationship with.

If that's what you are looking for too then they are a good bet - better than the older men as their cocks are more likely to work, they can keep up, and they are often a good laugh as well. Middle aged men can drift towards the Victor Meldrew if not careful.

I always went for older men, but a while back had a man early 20s at work show an interest and I wasn't interested at first and never thought of younger men in that way, however I began to find him attractive and we slept together a couple of times, ever since I've gone off older men and question if my interest in older men in the past was just social conditioning and the myth that they are more mature, obviously some are, but older men can be bitter and cynical. 1. Past child bearing (you're actually not if you're an outlier but the perception is that you're past pregnancy). They feel they can not use condoms/take risks without their nightmare scenario of 18 plus years of child maintenance when they're only looking for sex).

1. Related to above - they think 30s (and some 20s) women, if they haven't had kids, are desperate to have kids (with or without marriage) and they don't want that, and they don't want the pregnancy risk.

1. They think you're past the marriage and kids thing, having probably done it, and much more likely to be up for fun, casual, no strings sex.

1. They think you'll be grateful for having it with younger, fit men.

1. They think you're more likely to offer commodious accommodation.

They think that since you are ’old’ (not that you are) and pass the wall, you are desperado and easy.

Also, many men seem totally clueless about biology and most likely think you can’t get pregnant anymore, so safe bet.

Yeh I had this.
