Women - how do attractive women make you feel?

Inspired by a couple of other threads at the moment. Just interested really.

Straight women - how do you feel when you see a very attractive woman

I've always found myself feeling a bit mixed. I feel like I notice many beautiful women every day and hardly ever a beautiful man.

But I consider myself straight (think I'd be open to not being but who knows) and do fancy the men I have had relationships with, plus a few odd celebrities etc.

I don't really ever check men out though. Very infrequently. But I think I do check women out? But not sexually?

I find myself when out and about noticing women all of the time. Do others?

I also am not sure how I feel about them. Sort of intrigued, maybe jealous, sometimes a bit mean, but they definitely have an impact on me. Sometimes, perhaps like the impact on a man, I'm drawn to keep looking. And then that baffles me. Do I take pleasure from other womens looks or do they bother me somehow (insecurity)?

Im not asking if im gay. Im just interested to know when other women see attractive women out and about what they "feel", in addition to the obvious that they see - "she's beautiful/pretty/attractive" etc Confused

Yes, twice in recent years (yet I'm comparatively old now in my late 30s). In one case I had to change my route and routine, on a day I use the train, as one had been waiting in a doorway for me.

Fucking Hell. Some men are arseholes, aren't they?

As for the aloof stuff. I can see how that ends up becoming a 'thing'. I'm reminded actually of a time about 5 years ago when I was beginning to become open to the idea of a relationship and yet no one was interested at all. One of my male friends said that it wasn't such that I was putting barriers up, more that I was shooting out 10 ft steel spikes any rime a man came near me! 🤣 On reflection, he was right. I got so sick of being hit on by married men that I just had the same response to all men!

I wonder if some of the negative experiences women have occur because of one or two bad experiences and then a self protection response which makes other women seem unfriendly? If that makes sense? 🤷🏻‍♀️

A bit of a seek and ye shall find situation?

80s · 27/07/2023 15:43

I think all women self-protect to some extent. I was assaulted (attempted rape) as a 15yo and that obviously made me careful. Most women I know have had some experience by adulthood. I would guess that we all have moments when we realise we need to fade into the background and not be seen as prey, and we all have our methods for attempting to do that. The blank, boring face, staring into the middle distance. We all get targeted to some extent, so we less attractive ones can begin to imagine what it might be like for women who stand out naturally. The last notable incident for me was a couple of years ago - in my 50s, wearing slobby jeans and trainers, waiting for the tram, and some bloke sat down next to me and started wanking. If I get that now, of course pretty young women get it the whole bloody time.

mushyplease · 27/07/2023 17:16

So plot thickens.

I've tried to be highly conscious today of how I look and then "feel" about men and women.

So walking around a major city for a few hours with lots of young and old attractive people about.

In a few hours I saw one man that really caught my eye. Younger than me, mixed race, green eyes, cool classy dresser, tall, obviously very striking to anyone (I would imagine?). And I tried to work out what I felt. It was "wow, he is really really handsome".. can't say I undressed him with my eyes, or thought much more than that. So it was sort of "phwoar" but also just not much more than that acknowledgement.

I also noticed about 300 gorgeous women. Now according to this thread that seems to be a pretty universal experience even for straight women. Women are more attractive and interesting. I tried to work out what I was thinking and it was sort of the same as for the one man, but actually, if I really admit it, probably a bit more than that.

I didn't undress them and imagine doing anything with them, but I did look more closely at them, not just clothes and face, but their bodies. And In some ways, hard to admit, but almost more interested in seeing more of their bodies if it was on offer.

Anyway no idea what that means. Only ever slept with men. And despite not fancying that many men, that seems quite usual on here. When I do fancy one I really do fancy them, and I fantasise about sex with men (mostly).

But I think I prefer looking at women, and I think that might include their bodies. So what does that mean? Is that sexual? I've always thought I couldn't sleep with a woman but like previous posters, how would I really know?

I haven't looked at porn for years for ethical reasons, but wasn't fussed wither way whether it was men or women thinking about it. But shin many days that's normal for straight women according to research in labs etc.

I'll think on...

I didn't do that with all 300 women, just some of them by the way... that really caught my eye for whatever reason

OP, you might want to Google the Kinsey Scale and do the quiz, it is supposedly scientific and can be quite an eye opener. My personal rating is right down the middle.

Yes have done that before. I scored just the other side of straight down the middle. Interesting. Think it said more than incidentally bisexual or something!

Yeah I think I notice attractive women more than attractive men.

Not in a sexual way, I've never fancies a women. And I wouldn't stare. But I'm more likely on TV programmes or music videos to 'check out' the women.

I only fancy men, but somehow think women are eye-catching.

StarlightLady · 27/07/2023 20:27

OP, feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss further. I'll leave that one to you.

@perfectcolourfound - I remember when I said that 😁.

Think that's it isn't it. I think what I'm realising is that I check out women. Seems many of us do. Always thought it was a bit of jealousy or just interest but no idea really. I'm not having sexual thoughts about any of the men or women I see, but I'm not asexual. So, when is attraction sexual.?

😀

I didn't mean this thread to be one of those "am I actually not straight" ones but hey ho, that's the way it goes.

I think I'm realising the older I get that I check women out loads but not men. But is that for all the reasons in this thread, more eye catching basically, or is it because I like them?

Am still wondering by what the difference is between enjoying looking at women (as so many here seem to say they do) and fancying them. That sounds crazy. But I don't rip mens clothes off with my eyes and never really have, but go out with them! What's the difference?

OP posts:
PimpMyFridge · 28/07/2023 07:26

If I see a gorgeous guy I think 'RrrrrrRRRRRRRrrrr Hubba Hubba'.
If I see a gorgeous woman I think 'oo almond eyes lucky you' (or whatever)

That's the difference for me. 😁

StarlightLady · 28/07/2023 08:44

OP, sometimes threads can interestingly evolve, making all those involved think outside the box.

SaltnPepperHead · 28/07/2023 11:07

Ah, now you're starting to sound like me when I was figuring it all out. Thought I only really fancied men, couldn't really see myself with a woman, just admired them etc. Certainly couldn't picture myself in a relationship with one! Then I had my first sexual experience with a woman and that woman is now my wife.

BlinkOnceForYes · 28/07/2023 11:31

This is a subject that has fascinated me for a long time because humans are outliers in many respects when it comes to mate selection. In the majority of species, it is the male who is attractive and the female that is choosy. In humans it is the female that is both attractive and choosy. This paper is really interesting on the topic: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/147470490700500208

FedUpFanAnn · 28/07/2023 12:03

Women are just more attractive and nicer to look at. Yeah, you might see a nice looking man and admire his bum or how he dresses, but with women there is so much more to appreciate. Hair, face, legs, bum, boobs, style, just everything put together effortlessly to look beautiful. I love that. I was at a wedding recently, and there was this younger woman, probably in her 20s and I'm in my 40s, and I have not been able to stop thinking about her! She had long blonde hair and pink shiny lips like a fairytale. She was wearing a simple dress, nothing fancy, and didn't look like she was wearing much make up, hair just down and wavy. Anyway, later in the evening she was sitting near me, and kept looking over and smiling, and I smiled back, and all I can describe the feeling as is a 'frisson.' It's very possible she was thinking "Christ alive, what is she wearing? Also the rain has wrecked her hair, poor love" But she was just strikingly beautiful. Never noticed one man the whole day.

StopStartStop · 28/07/2023 13:19

Don't men's shoulders drive you wild? Their chests, forearms and OMG - necks. A beautiful, manly neck is a gorgeous thing. Their thighs. Their hair and eyes.

Actually, having read about the 'frisson', you might be swinging both ways, or just be a woman's woman. I know lesbian women I admire, but I never get a 'frisson'. 😆Will you be able to see her again?

StopStartStop · 28/07/2023 13:21

Actually, on reflection, that's not quite true. Some celebrity women are a bit hmm... tingly. But rarely.

FedUpFanAnn · 28/07/2023 13:39

@StopStartStop If she'd have suggested a trip to the ladies together, I just might have said yes. Gasp! No, I'll never see her again, our circles would never cross, so to speak.
And I do get your point about men's attributes. There is one man whose forearms make me swoon. His neck too. But that's for another day....

StopStartStop · 28/07/2023 13:53

😁

Joebloggs49 · 28/07/2023 14:27

@FedUpFanAnn well maybe your bisexual/lesbian if you think that although as a man it does make me feel ugly and unattractive knowing that I will never be sexy like a woman. Even straight women prefer looking at other women and will watch lesbian porn or prefer looking at naked women. I wish I was gay honestly lol

I think a lot of straight women are actually bisexual but hetromantic meaning they are sexually into both but only romantically into men

Catsmere · 01/08/2023 08:00

I've long since stopped taking any notice of how strangers look. I might notice elements of friends' appearance, like a particularly nice haircut or colour, or more likely a garment they made (I'm in a knitting group), but that's all.

SilkyMint · 01/08/2023 11:26

I'm 100% straight (as you can be) and I'm fascinated by gorgeous women. I have zero sexual attraction to women yet when I see a woman with a stunning face or amazing body I find it really easy to end up gazing at them and have to remind myself to look away so she doesn't notice! I'm sure some stunning women feel others are looking at them with envy or jealousy or judgment when in reality people are just finding their jaws drop at their beauty.

Frankola · 01/08/2023 16:02

I generally think women can look a lot more "striking" than men if you see what I mean? They're beautiful looking but then also have amazing clothes, hair and make up and it really makes them stand out?Gorgeous looking men just don't look as "interesting" - probably because they all wear similar jeans and tops etc 😂

If I see a gorgeous younger woman I get a pang of jealousy because it makes me miss being in my twenties, when looking good wasn't hard work. Now I will be the first to admit I have to watch what I eat, go to the gym, get my lips done, have an extensive skin care routine blah blah blah. My own mother wind's me up all the time calling me vain, but I just want to look pretty still! 🤣

Frankola · 01/08/2023 16:13

@mushyplease This is quite interesting. It talks about women having more sexual fluidity than men. However, fluidity isn't the same as your overall orientation. Maybe read up on that more?
