That's it really. Spoken to an officer and I feel like a complete drama queen because he didn't hurt me. please help me.

He is an absolute disgrace OP. You are not feeling it because this is your normal and you are trauma bonded. You need to talk to professionals for support OP

An idiot young relative spat in a police officer's face some years ago now. He was arrested charged with assault and locked up for the night. He had to attend Court and was fined. Served him right.

Probably feels almost like a nightmare or like it happened to someone else. Also, it's difficult to equate someone we thought loved us with doing and saying such horrible things.

But good on you for being logic and having having your own back. There will likely come a point further down the line where it does register with you and you'll be so angry about what he did. Could be many months from now. You'll just be sat in bed one night and wham! Utter blinding rage about it.

But the good thing is you'll be able to say you took action and got out. Arsehole thought he could treat people like that with no consequences. Ha! No chance. Not on your watch.

I've not been sleeping very well and that sick feeling in my stomach won't leave.

He's not given me any hassle or anything so I don't know why it won't go. It went for a day after I spoke to the police because I thought wouldn't have to think about it again and I haven't been, but my body must still be.

Hopefully a few more days and it will gradually disappear.

Hope you're ok OP. One of my absolute hates is spitting! Disgusting and disrespectful are understatements!
