What do you wear to bed / insecurities

Quite a random topic but I’m interested to find out what others wear to bed with their dp?

do you wear something sexy? Pjs? Naked? I have always just worn one of dps oversized shirts with some panties but the past few months I’ve started wearing long sleeve pjs. This was due to the cold weather, me and dh both started wearing pjs (sometimes he sleeps completely naked but if it’s cold he’s been wearing pjs). He only has a few pairs that I’ve bought him including matching xmas ones that we are still wearing haha!

he has made quite a lot of comments recently about how I don’t dress sexy or ‘cute’ just always wearing boring pyjamas. I’m very insecure about my body (I’m a size 4/6 uk but I have extreme loose skin on my stomach from pregnancy). This bothers me so much and I can’t wear certain things as I need clothes that cover my stomach.

there’s so many cute sexy nightwear I’d love to wear but I’m so restricted to make sure my stomachs covered. If I didn’t have the loose skin I’d love to just sleep naked!

what do you all wear? I don’t want him to think I’m boring and I’d like to dress sexier at nighttime (I bought a satin nightie but it just didn’t look nice on me at all!).

also, do you have any insecurities with your body? Do you show them to your dp? My dh says there’s nothing wrong with my stomach but I hate it. The only time I’ll have my top off/be naked during sex is when the rooms dark. I couldn’t imagine being on top and looking down seeing the skin just hanging loose from my stomach!

anyway! Cute nightwear recommendations very welcome!

I can’t really help with clothing recommendations as we both sleep naked! If it’s absolutely freezing I will go with tshirt and knickers but maybe 2 or 3 nights a year, I hate the feeling of wearing clothes in bed and I twist and turn constantly in the night and feel like I get tangled up in layers.
Tell your dh to stick his comments up his pyjama bottomed arse, you can sleep how you bloody well like. I can’t imagine giving a crap if dh commented on me looking boring. In fact, I would and I’d tell him to fuck off frankly.

Before the dog…I used to sleep naked. Now pyjamas.

How sexy are his pyjamas?

Definitley not sexy at all! Which I have told him after his remarks :/

I guess it’s one of those awkward things where a man doesn’t need to ‘dress sexy’ ? Even him naked he has a very athletic body so he gets away with it. Whereas I feel like I’m supposed to make a lot of effort to look good sometimes.

I also feel like what’s the point in dressing sexy every night to bed when we only have sex once a week… might as well stay comfy!

Sleep in what you feel comfortable in. My DP sleeps naked and would prefer me to sleep naked, too, but I just don’t like it, I feel cold. He knows my reasons and he accepts my choice; after all, I don’t force him to sleep in clothes!
I choose pjs or tops/boxers that are made of cotton, and in my favourite colours. I care about what I wear in bed, not to impress my DP, but to make myself happy, just like I care about what I wear during the day.
If I feel like having sex - then I might wear something sexy, but I never sleep in it because it would be so uncomfortable!

evangron · 12/04/2023 22:10

Primark vest top and cotton knickers here..

SpringleDingle · 12/04/2023 22:13

New boyfriend so often end up in bed naked with him but if I’m on my own or need a cosy fix then it’s my pjs. Ended up in Xmas pjs and jingly elf socks this weekend (and yes he was here). He says he doesn’t care what I wear as he knows what’s underneath my clothes and that I’m super hot. It’s news to me… total mom-bod here but he seems to like it so I’m embracing my curves!

Mangooo · 12/04/2023 22:13

You could still wear pyjamas like short and cami... soft fabrics can feel sexy and sensual. Satin is a terrible fabric as it shows all the lumps and bumps..
Primark has loads of nice pjs.

GlassBunion · 12/04/2023 22:15

I wear an old fashioned loose fitting nightie as I can't stand trousers , pants or vest top as they're too close fitting and make me hot.

My husband is naked.

FoolsOld · 12/04/2023 22:17

Oversize t shirt and pants. Sleeping naked gives me the ick.

Fairislefandango · 12/04/2023 22:19

I wear normal, not remotely sexy pyjamas and never, ever sleep naked. Sexy is code for uncomfortable imo. If your dp doesn't want to wear uncomfortable things, why should you?

Thank you, I agree!

actually I’d really like to start dressing a bit nicer to bed. When I look sexy I feel sexy. I’m pretty happy to just wear an oversize top and panties (and that’s what dp likes too) but would like to change it up a little (I realise I’ve been wearing Xmas pjs for the past 5 months!!)

I think I’ve just let my insecurity get the best of me. Even wearing shorts to bed wouldn’t be comfortable as I feel like I need something high waisted to hold in my stomach

Cotton pyjama bottoms and a vest top.... could not be bothered wearing anything other than whats most comfortable for me to sleep in. Has never stopped DH looking to get his leg over 😝Now that said he also navigates my hair up in a pineapple (curly hair people will understand) and my mouthguard for teeth grinding so I suppose how I look at night is not something he's bothered by!

IfIHadAHeart · 12/04/2023 22:29

I sleep naked, can’t get on with pjs. If it’s really cold I put socks on. I’m single though and no one to factor into my sleeping arrangements!

NerdyBird · 12/04/2023 22:31

If my DH said anything like that to me I'd not only carry on wearing my pjs but would add bedsocks and maybe a dressing gown too. You can get quite nice soft comfy pjs or lounge wear from lots of places. Go for luxury type fabrics that cover what you need rather than short or revealing things that you won't sleep well in.

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 12/04/2023 22:33

At UK size 4/6 I can’t imagine you need anything to hold your stomach in at all. Be comfy!

hamsterchump · 12/04/2023 22:35

I just wear a pair of men's boxer shorts (well they're not a man's, they're mine I bought them for me 🙂). I find them so comfy to sleep in because they don't have seams or that lace edging that almost all women's pants have and they come up to my waist which stops me feeling self conscious. Can't sleep naked, feel too exposed and just can't get comfy at all or drop off. I sometimes wear a vest top when it's really cold but usually not.

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 12/04/2023 22:37

Sorry m y post wasn’t worded brilliantly, just that I bet you look fabulous no matter what you wear.

PermanentTemporary · 12/04/2023 22:37

Not sure why he thought this form of words would be helpful.

It would be a fuck sight better if he told you he loves your body and finds you, not your clothes, erotic.

Havibg said that... ask him what he considers sexy. I had a partner who absolutely loved white cotton pants, which was remarkably easy. He also liked white satin bias cut nighties. I enjoyed both these and felt great in them. I think slips would look great on you.

Now I have a mixture of stuff and like to wear stuff I consider sexy. I'm a generous size 18 and in my 50s so no doubt your dp would reel back in disgust at the idea, but I have sexual confidence now I'm out of a different relationship where my partner didn't think to compliment me.

Try lovehoney. Honestly. The stuff I have from there is pretty comfortable but also looks hot in my view. I also really like M&S Boudoir.

Aintnosupermum · 12/04/2023 22:38

La perla do a plain silk short nightgown which is very comfortable and covers enough. It wasn’t cheap but you only need one. Mine is almost 12 years old…same age as my eldest.

Wishona · 12/04/2023 22:40

Tonight a black vest and knickers
Last night a soft cardigan and knickers
Sometimes a T-shirt and nothing else
Sometimes just knickers

Totally random, rarely specific nightwear

Sounds silly I know! Honestly the loose skin on my stomach is so bad :( no fat but just hanging wrinkly skin

Big t shirts, no knicks usually because I feel like she deserves some fresh air after being trapped in underwear all day😂

Blueheartpinkheart · 12/04/2023 23:04

I have to wear PJs (oversized and not tight) I don't want the monsters under the bed to see me naked!!

SpecialControlGroup · 12/04/2023 23:08

Oodie sleep tee and knickers here. It looks awful but is so comfy and DH doesn't look much better anyway
