What do you wear to bed / insecurities

Quite a random topic but I’m interested to find out what others wear to bed with their dp?

do you wear something sexy? Pjs? Naked? I have always just worn one of dps oversized shirts with some panties but the past few months I’ve started wearing long sleeve pjs. This was due to the cold weather, me and dh both started wearing pjs (sometimes he sleeps completely naked but if it’s cold he’s been wearing pjs). He only has a few pairs that I’ve bought him including matching xmas ones that we are still wearing haha!

he has made quite a lot of comments recently about how I don’t dress sexy or ‘cute’ just always wearing boring pyjamas. I’m very insecure about my body (I’m a size 4/6 uk but I have extreme loose skin on my stomach from pregnancy). This bothers me so much and I can’t wear certain things as I need clothes that cover my stomach.

there’s so many cute sexy nightwear I’d love to wear but I’m so restricted to make sure my stomachs covered. If I didn’t have the loose skin I’d love to just sleep naked!

what do you all wear? I don’t want him to think I’m boring and I’d like to dress sexier at nighttime (I bought a satin nightie but it just didn’t look nice on me at all!).

also, do you have any insecurities with your body? Do you show them to your dp? My dh says there’s nothing wrong with my stomach but I hate it. The only time I’ll have my top off/be naked during sex is when the rooms dark. I couldn’t imagine being on top and looking down seeing the skin just hanging loose from my stomach!

anyway! Cute nightwear recommendations very welcome!

Take his card and buy some practical but prettier pj sets. There problem solved.
he is a cheeky fucker.

YaWeeFurryBastard · 12/04/2023 23:13

Supermarket PJs or naked. DH has a gym bod and sleeps in just boxers or naked and doesn’t seem to care. Certainly doesn’t stop us having sex.

FetchezLaVache · 12/04/2023 23:14

DS is 12 but still sometimes comes to find me in the night (ASD), so sleeping naked is out of the question these days. I wear cotton PJ bottoms with a long-sleeved T-shirt usually, if it's very hot a vest top and knickers, or any sort of combination thereof. DP just wears his pants.

caringcarer · 12/04/2023 23:17

Nothing. Neither does DH.

Findyourneutralspace · 12/04/2023 23:21

I sleep alone so it’s all about comfort. Currently I am comfiest in a jersey, long sleeve nightie. I like my legs to be free.

When I was married it was a mixture of naked, just knickers, knickers and vest, shorts and vest or jersey strappy nightie. Occasionally something silky but I’d always wake up with my boobs hanging out! I was warmer when there were two of us.

Would a play suit be cute?

Not the most practical for sex but quite nice for sleeping?

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/04/2023 23:33

Nothing. Neither does DP. I can’t stand wearing anything in bed.

Cotton pyjama bottoms and a vest top.... could not be bothered wearing anything other than whats most comfortable for me to sleep in. Has never stopped DH looking to get his leg over 😝Now that said he also navigates my hair up in a pineapple (curly hair people will understand) and my mouthguard for teeth grinding so I suppose how I look at night is not something he's bothered by!

Same. Also curly hair, mouthguard and currently in avocado pjs
I'm single but no man has ever been put off by my pjs!

Anskl · 13/04/2023 01:35

What I wear depends on how warm I am, not how sexy I'm feeling - I'm either naked, in a long nighty or pyjamas. Like others, I wear a mouthguard to protect against teeth grinding, which isn't particularly sexy, regardless of the weather.

DH can't stand wearing clothes in bed, so sleeps naked.

I have plenty of things I'd change about my body. I wouldn't call them insecurities because I'm completely secure about showing my body to my DH in any state - it would take a lot more than a bit of flab or loose skin to alter our attraction towards each other.

Summer2424 · 13/04/2023 02:42

Hi @Bereast23 i find anything silky is sexy. I have a little black silky dressing gown from H&M. I also have silky shorts and a vest from Primark.
Hope the above helps x 💃

Ohdofuckofdear · 13/04/2023 03:09

I wear a chemise, I like them because they're comfortable(I feel to restricted in pyjamas)and they look nice, I'd still wear them if I was single because I wear them for me not for my DH.

aurynne · 13/04/2023 05:27

Men need reminding that women don't exist to keep them aroused. When we are at home, we want to be comfortable, just like they do.

Wear whatever makes you comfy, Op. It's your bloody house!

JimmyHalpert · 13/04/2023 05:33

Your body grew life, that is important and special. I think it’s sad that you feel the need to cover that body from the person who you created that life with in the first place? Has he made comments in the past about your stomach? If he has I wouldn’t be dressing sexy for him because he doesn’t deserve it.
if he hasn’t then firstly you need to work on self love and positive affirmations about your body and learn to love it again.

also absolutely nothing wrong with pyjamas! The comfort of pjs is the best thing ever.

Before the dog…I used to sleep naked. Now pyjamas.

Haaaaaa me too

perfectcolourfound · 13/04/2023 07:12

Why do you think you should 'make an effort' but your DH shouldn't? Do you think it's your job to look sexy for him even if it makes you uncomfortable? Are his sexual kicks more important than your rest?

I wear PJs. My DH says he finds me attractive whatever I'm wearing. If I'm feeling 'sexy' I shed the PJs.

I'd be worried about your DH's view of you.

PrussianBlueVelvet · 13/04/2023 07:31

My husband and I wear tops only, no pants.

When you want to feel sexy you could wear a basque/corset type lingerie?

Lulu1919 · 13/04/2023 07:32

Cotton ( knee length t shirt style) nighty
Big knickers

MaireadMcSweeney · 13/04/2023 07:34

In the winter I wear a big night shirt and in the summer I wear a short nightie. No knickers! Ew. I wear what's comfortable but my short nighties are quite pretty (not 'sexy' - that implies scratchy lace and stupid extra bits)

I don't worry about body insecurities around DP. Life is too short.

To bed???

Aprilx · 13/04/2023 07:45

I wear pyjama shorts and a vest top, wear the same all year round, I adjust my bedding for the season. Never sleep naked, I would be very uncomfortable.

Fedupofdiets · 13/04/2023 07:49

I think I win the unsexy competition. I wear cotton leggings and long sleeve cotton top and if really cold a cardigan. I feel the cold badly and my stbxh hated my night attire but I hate loose bottoms riding up my legs and need to be 100% comfy to sleep. No tight wasted bottoms that dig in my stomach. Good job I am now single and not made to feel shit about not being remotely sexy!

Sunshineandflipflops · 13/04/2023 07:52

An over-sized T-shirt and pants. I feel a bit too restricted in anything else, altough have just bought myself some nice, lightweight pj's for if I stay anywhere else. In the winter, if v cold I sometimes sleep in my loungewear.

We don't live together but dp wears boxers and a t-shirt, unless we're both naked of course, but I don't like sleeping completely naked as I actually find it more uncomfortable.

StopStartStop · 13/04/2023 07:54

Don't have anyone telling you what to wear for sleep, and don't allow them to have expectations of what you ought to wear, in their opinion.

And drop the 'panties'. The word that is. No adult woman refers to her knickers/pants/whatever she calls them as 'panties'.

Actually, that makes me wonder who you are and why you are asking.

maddy68 · 13/04/2023 08:49

I wear the top shirt I have worn all day and knickers or I wear a t shirt of my dhs or I wear a very unsexy nightshirt. Bed is about being comfortable
