How would you rate your marriage?

From 0-10?

Odd question I know but it was on an initial form for couples therapy and I just wondered what actually is "normal".

OP posts:
Shoxfordian · 02/11/2022 16:27

A solid 10 really; we’re very happy

lovelyclouds · 02/11/2022 16:34

I'd say 8, I think we are pretty happy, not like singing from the rooftops happy, but love each other and are a good team. :) i've just messaged my DH to ask him!

gwenneh · 02/11/2022 16:36

10/10, would marry again.

AMorningstar · 02/11/2022 16:53
  1. Very happy with my choice.
PottyDottyDotPot · 02/11/2022 16:54

8/10

GreyhairedHobbit · 02/11/2022 16:56

10/10 I just love spending time with him! We are away for a few days at the moment and have such a scream.

Guavafish1 · 02/11/2022 16:58

High 9.9/10… but nothing is perfect of course!

he is my best friend!

AMorningstar · 02/11/2022 16:59

Reading this is funny because its like people posting amazon reviews of their husbands

Floralnomad · 02/11/2022 17:09

9.5 /10 - been married for over 30 yrs , still love each other - he loses the 0.5 because he has an awful family

Hillrunning · 02/11/2022 17:11

If you're asking me to rate my husband he gets a 10. My marriage gets a 9, because I could make more effort. Might start too

AnneLovesGilbert · 02/11/2022 17:12

10

Ofcourseshecan · 02/11/2022 17:16

9.5/10. Some problems with health and in-laws, but DH is pretty nearly my dream man and I’ve never been happier than when I’m with him.

Ofcourseshecan · 02/11/2022 17:22

Ah, this is the problem with polls. We’re only getting the happy ones here!

Our friends see DH and me as the happiest couple they know. But we married late and we (individually) went through an awful lot of shit before meeting each other.

OP, I don’t know what counts as normal. Maybe that doesn’t matter, for therapy? I think the therapist would just want to know how un/happy you are together.

PS5Gamer · 02/11/2022 17:27

10

StillSmallVoice · 02/11/2022 17:44

9 out of 10. His predecessor gets a 0.

CraftyCats · 02/11/2022 17:52

Depends on the day you ask me. Todays a 9.

If I’m premenstrual and he’s done something that has pissed me off it could be as low as a 5 and I’m wanting to divorce him.

mackthepony · 02/11/2022 17:53

Jesus it's all marital bliss for a change!

Mine is around a 5!

needastrongoneagain · 02/11/2022 17:54

10/10, even though he's been in hospital for the last 6 months after a severe stroke. Still love him beyond measure, even if the future is very different now at aged 50.

nancydroo · 02/11/2022 17:56
  1. He's a good man.
oviraptor21 · 02/11/2022 17:58

If you'd asked him about 5 years ago he'd probably say 9. I'd have said 3 even then.
He knows now so he'd probably say 5.

Just adding some balance to all the happy people.

nonstoprenovation · 02/11/2022 17:58

Wow, I think I'll buck the trend here and say a 5/6 and I'm in the camp waiting for the teens to leave home and have a very long hard think about the (hopeful) rest of my life.

I'm also sitting out the rollercoaster of menopause to make sure this isn't a rash decision.

Love him and care for him and he's a great husband now, but unfortunately we slipped into friend zone about 6 years ago so zero intimacy.

oviraptor21 · 02/11/2022 17:59

Aha - my soul mate has arrived!

Ditto!

Frostine · 02/11/2022 18:00

Normally a good 8.5. But today we've had a rare row so it's a 3.5 today.

Slimjimtobe · 02/11/2022 18:04

About 7
would like there to be more spark and romance rather than the mundane
but we are a good team and good parents with a nice home so not complaining really - but it’s not a 10

also he probably would like wife who spends more time with his mother and doesn’t have strong boundaries like i do
