Tick tock: the one where Geller discovers Polly is no longer a doormat

AKA Co-parenting: I do not think it means what you think it means

Here we go again my lovelies! Will this be the one where I finally get divorced?!

Previous thread here

I have clock news! Turns out, no one wants it. Quelle surprise. Could I sell it? No, sez I, it’s worth ha’penny tuppence on a good day. Plus, no time.

Ha ha.

I suggested, because I am a kind hearted soul and because it’s already in a box and I don’t know which one that they keep the clock face and I get rid of the mechanism and the case. That appears to be a reasonable compromise. Pass me an axe.

The reason for the clock conversation? My brother phoned. My mother has given away my grandfather’s WW1 medals to a museum. WTF?! We’re going to try and get them back. She can’t see what she’s done wrong.

Solicitors on the other side for the house purchase are useless. Estate agent spoke to them today. They are awaiting proof of ID and funds on account?! WTF. I lost my shit a bit. I’d just come back from having a filling so I sounded three gins down, which I’m sure added to the effect.

Oh, and I haven’t stopped laughing for the last hour. A friend has found Geller’s profile on a dating app. It contains such gems as ‘addressing climate change one word at a time in my career as a professional’ and goes on to claim he ‘always has time’

Given me the best laugh I’ve had since my solicitor said she’d call me just to be sure that I wanted to file for absolute once the finance order is made…

Anyway, buckle up loves. It’ll be a ride, as ever…glad you could join me.

Happy bank holiday folks!

Well, it’s been quite the rollercoaster, but we complete tomorrow. Geller continues to be a fuckwit, Westley continues to be lovely, my friends continue to be amazing. The Dollies are awesome and had a great birthday! My mother…well. She’s outdoing herself but right now, I don’t have any headspace for her.

I just want to be in. Feeling incredibly stressed and have to go do a big client presentation tomorrow about 60 miles away so won’t even get back in time to get the keys. Which is a bit annoying. But all is in place and I’ve spent the weekend packing with the Dollies who have been brilliant.

Nearly packed. Exhausted. Logistics are difficult and I’m incredibly aware that I’m doing this on my own. And to be fair, I want to! But…at times I’ve felt terribly alone. And then I remember you all spurring me on and think how far I’ve come and I wish I could have you all over for a giant housewarming party!

That's brilliant news Flowers

Tell us, what's happened with the wretched grandfather clock? Wink

Fraaahnces · 02/05/2022 14:37

Cheers Polly! So very proud of you! Can’t wait to hear that you are happily settled and Geller is simply paperwork. X

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/05/2022 14:44

Hooray! really pleased for you :D

ExMachinaDeus · 02/05/2022 15:04

Oh @StuckInPollyannaMode that is so lovely to hear. Congratulations on completion, and all the best for a calm happy peaceful home. You'll make it beautiful, I'm sure.

And focus on living a good life, sans fuckwit Geller.

As you've heard before - the best revenge is success!

AnneKipankitoo · 02/05/2022 15:07

Wonderful @StuckInPollyannaMode ♥️

StuckInPollyannaMode · 02/05/2022 15:10

Oh don’t mention the fucking clock 😂

Ah you poor thing, I bet you are exhausted. Very heartening to read how brilliant the Dollies have been, that's your example showing them how capable women just get the job done, without drama and hysterics.

It says a lot about you that you have supportive friends and an amazing partner, I may have been wrong thinking this LDR won't work, what do I know?

Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Oh don’t mention the fucking clock 😂

🤣🤣🤣

Mix56 · 02/05/2022 15:22

That all sound exhausting, but brilliant,
& so much better than hearing G whining about how hard it us, how he hasn't got time, moaning at dds & losing his cool over everything.
Good luck tomorrow !
Wednesday, you're in !

prettybird · 02/05/2022 15:54

You gave them plenty of notice about the clock. If they've not taken it yet, tell them it's not being taken to your new home (if you're nice, you can say because there is no room, but really, you don't have to justify yourself), it will be left outside your current house. They can arrange pick up whenever it suits them assuming it doesn't get picked up by someone else or that it doesn't rain Grin

TheThreadisMildlyAmusing · 02/05/2022 16:26

Maybe the clock will meet with an unfortunate accident, I mean things do get broken in house moves don't they? 🤫

Tomeeornottomee · 02/05/2022 16:29

Congratulations, hope you get settled in soon!

Mix56 · 02/05/2022 17:07

They've had months to sort out the clock, not your problem
Show them you're new Polly balls !

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/05/2022 17:11

I dropped a deep fat fryer down a set of concrete steps while moving once, accidents DO happen sometimes and the clock does sound hard to move ;)

Pashazade · 02/05/2022 18:03

Just remember this time next week you'll have been in the house almost a full week, the basics will be unpacked and you'll be enjoying being in your own house, just yours, safe and sound!

DartmoorDoughnut · 02/05/2022 18:37

Yay! 🍾happy new home for tomorrow, hope the move goes well, very jealous of you being able to put your own stamp on your home without having to compromise with a smelly man 😂

Newestname002 · 02/05/2022 18:44

Keeping everything crossed for completion day, Polly. You'll be amazed how much mentally lighter (though tired) you'll be when you and the girls get into your new home, take a deep breath and start putting your own stamp on it. 🌹

comfortablyfrumpy · 02/05/2022 20:17

Congratulations on the house, you and the Dollies will have such a lovely time making it Home.

Hope the presentation goes well tomorrow 😀

AcrossthePond55 · 02/05/2022 21:22

I'm sure you are exhausted, but I'll be it's that 'good tired' where you know it's worthwhile once it's all over.

Yes, it's a hard task managing the move all on your own, but what a sense of accomplishment!! You are woman, hear you fucking ROAR!!!!

Tallisimo · 02/05/2022 22:59

Hurrah! The start of that new chapter is almost upon you! Hope the client presentation goes well and that you can move in the following day x

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 03/05/2022 08:35

At Last! Congratulations @StuckInPollyannaMode You’ve done it!
Fab fab news.

prettybird · 03/05/2022 09:01

All the best for your presentation Flowers

You can look forward to knowing you have your own place while you're doing it. Smile

LadyDanburysHat · 03/05/2022 09:31

Good luck for your presentation, and congratulations on the house. Before you know it you will be settled in and enjoying your lovely new home with the dollies.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 03/05/2022 13:01

I’m in tears. I’ve completed.

now, I just need to move. But it’s MINE.
