Found a long hair...

No reasonable explanation I can think of. It was on a blanket we keep in the lounge for snuggling under. I'm the only ones that uses it. DH sits in shorts while I snuggle under a blanket and that is our compromise on the constant difference between our body temperatures.

I have short cropped hair. Slightly layered. Have had this style for 8 years. We don't really have people over to our house and these blankets are been washed within the last 3 weeks. The only other people here in that time is MIL and FIL. MIL has very short hair too. I've attached a pic. First 2 hairs are my long and short layers. 3 hair is very obviously different. WTF do I do? Just ignore? No other reason to suspect foul play by DH.

I wouldn't be losing your shit just yet, hair is transferred so easily, you could have brushed against someone in the shop and it might have stuck to you

Trinity66 · 19/10/2018 15:36

have you any other niggles about him besides this?

saltandvinegarcrisps1 · 19/10/2018 15:37

Agree with Trinity.

ragingmentalist · 19/10/2018 15:37

Are you trolling? Not sure if serious....

Haberpop · 19/10/2018 15:38

This wouldn't even register on my radar, is there some back story?

saltandvinegarcrisps1 · 19/10/2018 15:38

Posted too soon. Agree with Trinity unless there is other stuff you are sus about.

penny455 · 19/10/2018 15:38

Hairs can pass pretty easily have you been to a friends house or anyone's house recently? It could of attached to your clothes then the blanket. I wouldn't worry about 1 hair

Pigeonpies · 19/10/2018 15:38

Is there anyway it could have been brought in from the outside? Or maybe someone else has been over, but a sales rep or something like that?
Where is the blanket kept? Is it stored away when not in use?

Maybe a lot shot, but could it be from a doll? I constantly find long (synthetic) hairs from DC dolls.

Has he been acting any differently or suspicious?

I'm of a paranoid nature, so would be worried in your case, but it could be a whole host of reasons.

Maybe ask him and check his reaction?

userxx · 19/10/2018 15:43

I shed hair wherever I go, in my car, in work, on randoms in supermarkets. I really wouldn't be stressing about it.

MrsVietor · 19/10/2018 15:44

Huh? It could have come in on your clothes!

Unless there's a huge backstory then I'd definitely chill.

TheDizzyRascal · 19/10/2018 15:45

Ooooh it's like the first episode of Dr Foster! Hopefully it won't end the same way....!

Joking aside, I don't think I would give it a second thought, not that I can explain where it has come from but it wouldn't have made me suspicious I don't think. If there's nothing else pointing towards anything "sordid" perhaps just ask the hubby. x

When I was at primary school my friend's dad picked us up after an evening event and dropped me home. One of my long blonde hairs somehow got on his jumper and his wife was furious about it for months until she asked him about it.

namechange4000 · 19/10/2018 15:55

Certainly not a troll, been around here long enough to know I need to name change every 6 months or so.

No other back story really other than it definitely could not have come from me or anyone else who I know has been in our house. Blankets are kept away in a cupboard so don't think transfer like that could have happened.

Not sure about how a random hair could have transferred when out shopping. How close do you have to be to shed on to someone else?

I have no other concerns. One of our mutual friends split from H after he cheated. We were friends with both of them but DH was picking sides from day 1 in favour of her. Ditching friend of 25+ years in the process. He's very anti deception, the biggest problem with his ex friend was how he could cheat knowing he risked his kids future relationship. So everything else about him says I should calm the fuck down. And the majority of PP's as well, so I shall do just that.

N/c fail op

Wouldn’t bother me - I pick up random hairs all over the place - especially on my black winter coat.

namechange4000 · 19/10/2018 15:57

Oh shit. Reported my above post to change my username to same as OP. See? Not a troll! Grin

That is an excellent way to prove you're not a troll

Thenewdoctor · 19/10/2018 15:58

I reported it too op hope hq can delete or change it for you.

grannyscobwebs · 19/10/2018 15:58

This can't be serious....you kept the hair??

AnnieOH1 · 19/10/2018 16:03

I have very long hair and moult like a deranged parrot! Honestly if you sat on my chair after a day at work you would pick up one of my hairs if you sat on or even briefly were near my chair. Genuinely I think you're reading into this too much.

Peonylover123 · 19/10/2018 16:08

I malt badly and have long brown hair. I was actually thinking about this the other day. I saw my hair on the tub fall onto someone's coat and thought 'hope their wife isn't like Dr. Foster'.

Doesn't necessarily mean anything...would he have another woman round to snuggle under your blanket?

CurlsLDN · 19/10/2018 16:09

Perhaps, as you've had shorter hair for almost a decade, you've forgotten how easy it is for long hairs to get EVERYWHERE!
some examples:
A colleague brings something to his or your desk at work, her hair falls on the desk, sticks to his or your jumper

It's a breezy day in the supermarket car park and the wind blows a hair onto him or you

The cashier in the supermarket loses a hair (we all lose lots every day) and it falls into your shopping and travels home

The hair is caught on a wall or fence that he or you brushes against

Given that you are the only one who uses the blanket it is more likely to have been carried into the house by you. Should your dh suspect you are having an affair?

Aquamarine1029 · 19/10/2018 16:12

Have you taken a trip recently on your own? Do you have children who had a friend over?

Antigon · 19/10/2018 16:14

What's the point in posting the picture?

Are we supposed to confirm it's a hair? Confused

What a strange post.

GreenDinosaur · 19/10/2018 16:17

You must be really desperate for something to worry about!
