Just that. I’m single after separating and wondering about how to meet new people. I look at couples and think I wonder how they met. So please tell all.

Met my partner online on what used to be MyYear book.com. Chatted on msn for hours the first night. It's six years later almost and we have a house together and a beautiful baby girl.

Shandybass · 26/03/2018 00:57

Hi student
We’re you in college together and My Yearbook is some sort of alumini thing?

At work, he did nights, I worked early mornings and we had a 2-3 hour cross over period. Hardly romantic but long lasting nonetheless :)

CannaeBeErsed · 26/03/2018 01:03

My mum and her friend encouraged me to go on a night out with the friend's lodger. I think they were setting us up on a date of sorts. We were both new to the area and I didn't know anyone. He introduced me to a local lad he'd recently met - lodger was super friendly and could make a new friend just going to the supermarket! - and I totally fell for the local lad.
I gave him my number and 14 years later we are married with 3 kids.

Raven88 · 26/03/2018 01:06

I seen him on a dating site and I recognised him but could remember why .. we started talking and it turned out that we had worked together and, my mum worked with him for years and also I was one of his relatives carers. 3 and a half years later we are married and have a cat.

Thelampshadelady · 26/03/2018 01:19

Online. Together 10 years this year. Married 18 months and expecting first baby in just over 9 weeks. Smile

Church Blush only went to shut my mum up as she's a vicar and met him.. 8 years later :)

MistressDeeCee · 26/03/2018 01:32

At a live gig. Eyes across a room moment. I was actually on a 1st date out with someone else but 1 look at OH and I knew he was the one. I'm in my 50s & we've been together 5 years

AntiHop · 26/03/2018 01:33

Online.

missjaysays · 26/03/2018 01:52

I worked for his mum, he noticed me one day and asked who I was, she told him my name and he later told me he said 'she's alright isn't she'🙄

His mother then really unprofessionally and awkwardly told me her son liked me infront of all my colleagues which was so embarrassing.

I later had a nosey at his Facebook, thought he also looked 'alright' got abit ballsy and added him as a friend. I NEVER add people as friends. He messaged me straight away... and here we are 4 years on.

MIL still claims we owe her the world because she brought us together and 'it's all down to her' 😂

Time40 · 26/03/2018 01:54

At university, years and years and years ago.

Mumontherocks1 · 26/03/2018 01:59

I went out for a drink with a friend and we bumped into him. She introduced me to him as he was a friend of hers. That was 6 years ago. I'm glad I went out that day. I nearly didn't. I said no first and then thought bugger it I will go out just to get out of the house. We hit it off immediately.

LadyB49 · 26/03/2018 02:57

At a house party of a work colleague. He left me home at 5am to save getting my son out of bed to pick me up/getting a taxi. I later learned he was starting work at 6 and had stayed up all night chatting with me when he had planned to go home after a couple of hours to get some sleep. Dated a few days later. Together 21 years now, married for 13 of them.

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/03/2018 03:07

I met my husband when I was 14 and he was 16! It was at a Halloween gig in a village hall and I looked bloody atrocious. I was all dressed up looking silly and he looked casual and gorgeous (as gorgeous as a spotty teenage boy possibly can be of course).
Almost eight years later and we've never been apart. Today its actually our very first wedding anniversary which we are celebrating with our beautiful baby daughter. Smile

Peanutbuttercheese · 26/03/2018 03:18

The men I have dated as an adult were met

At a conference
Through a mutual friend though this is still sort of via work, he asked me to marry him but I turned him down.
We worked in the same University department, married him and still together 21 years later.

Rusma · 26/03/2018 10:31

We met at University, but only got together after meeting up at a reunion thing one year after he graduated. We have been together 13 years, married 10 this year.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 26/03/2018 10:33

TheShapeofYou · 26/03/2018 10:36

Facebook ten years ago (although his uncle worked for the same company as me and kinda set us up).

Married with two kids now Smile

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/03/2018 10:40

He's my DF's best friend. My DF brought him to a Tolkien Society thing, and he stayed with me until the ambulance arrived when I blacked out with a kidney infection. My DF thought I was just pissed and fucked off home. Hmm

At a night club, he was out with my brother and his friends (he was a friend of my brother but not a really close friend so I'd never met him before)

MyBrilliantDisguise · 26/03/2018 10:54

@PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks He was your dad's best friend?
