Did it work even though you moved too quickly?

DH and I moved in together after about 6 weeks, and will be celebrating our 15th anniversary next month.
He is (almost) bloomin' perfect in every way though!

jampot · 03/05/2007 17:19

goodness ff - how did i miss this??

are you on MSN??

jampot · 03/05/2007 17:21

actually i will ring you once ive come back from ds's swimming lesson about 8ish??

fairyfly · 03/05/2007 19:16

I spent the night worrying about it all. My friends son was in hospital and i went to visit. He turned up and i saw him, and i know, i really know he's perfect for me.

I've fallen really in love, don't care if it's too quick.

I'm letting him stay.

met my dh at a bar, gave him my number because I fell head over heels for him. He didn't call for 2.5 weeks - he was getting rid of his girlfriend who was living with him at the time. He didn't want to call me till she was out of the flat .

He didn't tell me this until we had been seeing each other for 2 weeks, by that time I had practically moved in with with and never went back to Oz to finish my degree as I planned to. We are still very very happy 7.5yrs later (have 2 ds's as well)!

Albert · 03/05/2007 19:49

I think I must break the world speed record here. We moved in together after 2 days!! After 2 weeks we decided to get married and that was 17 years ago and we are still very happy together

fairyfly · 04/05/2007 11:15

We moved in as friends, had known eachother for 10 years, through his brother, we bought the flat together, he was the best flat mate ever!

Six months later I kissed him.

Four years later and our baby is due in June...

MrsRecycle · 04/05/2007 11:35

We moved in after 2wks and are still together 15 years later with a second oompa loompa on the way. Saw your other thread too fairyfly and am really pleased to hear you sounding so happy

FlossALump · 04/05/2007 12:02

Met DP on a saturday night when I was a student nurse. Went out with him on a date on the tuesday(09/11). He came to stay for the night the weekend after and never really left. Had to spend some time apart when he was doing police training. 5 and a half years later, one DS and another on the way, I don't regret it although I would still often like to kill him...

expatinscotland · 04/05/2007 12:02

Well, he was my landlord, so we moved in right away.

LOL!

We got married about 5 weeks after we met.

It took me 6 months to conceive, however, so DD1 wasn't born until 13 months after our marriage.

5 year anniversary at the end of May!

NappiesGalore · 04/05/2007 12:05

awwww congratulations FF

casbie · 04/05/2007 12:16

we met at a local chippy. he was the fryer and i was the counter-asst. we were good friends for about a year and then at christmas he told me he loved me.

to be quite honest i was very shocked and went back home to think about it (student days).

we went out together for about two weeks before he moved in with me, then we moved in together and then bought a house together.

3 children later and 1 rabbit and we are still in love 13 years later.

NomDePlume · 04/05/2007 12:20

Met in late May.

Left my job, my flat, the country I was living in to be with DH (obv then DP) early in the September.

PG with DD (planned) in the Dec.

Married when DD was 11mo

Been together 6 years so far and all is rosy

casbie · 04/05/2007 12:23

what added to my shock was that he told me (much later) that he had told his mum i'm the girl he wants to marry and have babies with...

arrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhh!

it still frightens me that he was soooo sure.

i'm the one who wanted to take it slowly and now he's a well-trained house-husband!

poppy34 · 07/05/2007 17:07

fairyfly - met dh at work, after long discussions etc ( I was living with someone else at the time and he was recently separated and going through a tricky divorce), I went to stay with him on our first date (never having kissed etc before this).

Have never looked back as seemed like the right thing to do - we were engaged 6 months later, married just over a year later and stilll very happy over 2 years later.

If it feels right go for it- there is no such thing as the textbook happy romance.

Ally90 · 09/05/2007 12:02

Met in December, moved in together in May, had dd 2 yrs after moved in. I knew he was dh material...in fact on our 2nd date my thoughts were 'i want to marry you and i want to have your babies'. Which did surprise me as I had never wanted to do either.

go for it, you both sound besotted
