Following on from another thread...How soon after giving birth did you start having sex again???

Just wondering if I am completely odd as people seem shocked that someone with a 6wk old is thinking about sex again. Now with Ds was the longest I waited which was 4wks, DD1 was 3wks and DD2 was 2wks. Now will say I didnt have any stitches but did have tearing with Ds and DD2. Obviously I must be 'quick' back into action as there is only 12mths between the girls.

it appears that at 12 months I'm definitely holding the record for sex delay here. And I'm not proud of it neither...

Whywhywhy - did DH say anything to you? I think I'm lucky, there's been no pressure from DH

DD1 about 9-10 weeks had loads of stitched

DD2 12 weeks-ish couldn't be bothered

I do feel sorry for DP as I had bad SPD with both so not much action there (he said you used to cry out in pain turning over do you think I would ask you for sex so apart from a few get the baby out sympathy shags he was on a bit of a drought)

dh made a few rather sad comments about how he missed sex but that his relationship with me was more than that.

That was when we weren't flinging plates at eachother after ds had finally gone to sleep. We nearly got divorced during those 12 months and the lack of sex was a symptom rather than a cause, I think.

But I also lack libido in a big way, always do in long term relationships. I think I just get bored with sex with the same person....(I don't have affairs or anything, just stop wanting it.)

my dd is only 15 weeks but it was 6 months with dd1. The s word has not even been mentioned

....probably because I may mention the v word (as in Vasectomy)

5 months (DD is 6 months old now).
Having it out with DH about MIL`s meddling and interfering on a DAILY basis (!), and then him talking to her about it on the 5th month, miraculously caused me to feel like having sex again.
I did have a nasty internal tear though (even though my perinium was fine), so it was partly physcial, but seriously, sorting out the emotional side played a HUGE part in my returning sex drive.

2 weeks - had stiches but really missed sex when i was pg, we did it but difficult with bump! got more libido now than before ds glad i'm not the only early one

it was months after ds (12 yrs ago) when i was a young pup of 20 and 3-4 wks after dd (7 mnths ago) at the ripe old age of 32!!
mind you, we have had gaps due to dds sleeplessness and my exhaustion

6 weeks after dd1, 3 weeks after dd2, after dd3 I have no idea, maybe about a decade? or maybe about 6 weeks.

but I was swimming at 3 weeks post natal with all of them too, I always got better quickly after the birth.

About 5 weeks I think. Before 6 week check anyway. I had 3 separate tears but they all seemed to heal quite quickly.

In answer to question below, both my Csecs recoeverd really quickly, the stitches were removed within a week. Within a week there was only very slight tenderness so with a little care sex was no problem at all. Sleep deprivation from refluxy baby was a worse problem than recovery from major abdominal surgery!

3 weeks!!!!!! god i was f***!! it wasnt till baby was 9 week old as i waited till i had my first period which was 8 weeks after giving birth, had a coil inserted and then it went from there...

i had an emergency c-section so i supposed i was abit scared!! (first time mummy and c-section)

dd is seven months and still haven't.....

ruddy ages, I was so minced up and had to have the whole lot redone when ds was a couple of months old

I'm only eight days after an emergency c-s and I'm gagging for it, but then we didn't indulge at all while I was pregnant, just didn't want to...soon as I stop bleeding I'm going for it!

10 days after vaginal delivery.

My good at all this sex so close to the birth.
Mine was about 8 weeks, had rode horse at 7 weeks so had no excuse however only had it twice since dd was born and she is 15months old.
No libido, hurts due to episiotomy/stiches.

ermm about 3yrs..........hence the reason we have a 6 and a 3yr old - and another on the way
