I just got a back-hand across the face that made my nose bleed.

I haven't NC'd, I'm too shocked.

We've been together 14 years, nothing like this has ever happened before.

I don't know what to do, I think he may be having a breakdown, he seems to not be the man I 'know.

I'm utterly distraught.

He's just fucked off out.

He started filming me earlier for no reason, he kept saying I did something to him (I haven't), and I was getting a bit worried by it.

It was odd, he kept saying I kicked him in the head (I didn't), and got very agitated, he kept saying he'd filmed me doing it, I asked him to show me, because I'd done bugger all, all that's on the film is me going 'I haven't done anything, are you ok?'

And then smacked me across the face, really hard on my nose, and made it bleed.

WTF?

You need to contact the police.
From what you say he needs to be taken to a mental health unit and assessed

I am honestly very fucking concerned, he's pissed off out, he's gone.

I can't chase after him because we have children.

Blimey, how unsettling for you. I think I'd be locking the door so he couldn't get back in & if he attempted to or caused a commotion because he couldn't I'd call the police.

Bolt the door and call the police. If he's behaving erratically he may be further danger to you, himself or someone else. Keep yourself safe. Ice pack or cold cloth on your nose to stem the blood. Can you call a friend or family member too?

He's never had any mental health problems before, this is completely out of the blue.

My DH had a breakdown, he went from normal man to someone I don't know and still don't know very quickly. He was never violent to me but slapped our child (never done before).

Your partner sounds like he needs help now and you need to stay safe. Lock the doors and call the police. Don't try to work this out or fix it yourself if this is truly out of character that way madness lies (3years in here!)

I've got blood all over me, and he thinks I've got an agenda, he's run away from me, I think he thinks I want to hurt him, he was behaving as though I wanted to hurt him, he fucking karate chopped me in the fucking nose.

If No alcohol involved then it sounds to me like a psychotic episode. I've been there. Does he smoke weed, this can trigger such an episode.
Does he have family nearby who could go look for him and take him to their home, away from you.
Alternatively I'd be calling the police. For his own safety as well as you and your children, because he is out of control and out of the house. Who knows what he is doing or thinking.

Nope, no weed,used to smoke loads when I met him but hasn't for 13 years, none of his family are nearby. Parents are dead.

I don;t know what's triggered this, he's had a few glasses of wine tonight but nothing ridiculous.

I've no idea where he is or what the fuck is going on.
