Now what? I'm Shock & Hmm at this. I feel uncomfortable but he's persuaded me it'll be great fun and liberating. They have many group activities which I imagine will induce lots of jiggling of body parts. I have an uneasy feeling he's attracted by the prospect of 'innocently' noticing firmer, more nubile bodies than mine. (4 kids later) Wwyd?

WellThisIsShit · 14/05/2017 10:21

He'll be very disappointed if he's going there to lech.

But that's a side point really. Any person who'd sign himself and his partner up for this kind of thing with no discussion or prior agreement is a cock.

KitKat1985 · 14/05/2017 10:23

Grin at Buttlins.

Seriously though OP I live (relatively) near a nudist beach. There's a real lack of toned 20-somethings! It's mainly people 40+.

And if you don't feel comfortable going, don't go.

JaneEyre70 · 14/05/2017 10:26

We booked a kids swimming party once, but were told very firmly that we needed to vacate the changing rooms and pool very quickly after as there was another booking after us. About half way through the party, the staff started covering the windows with tarpaulins......turns out the local nudist group book it once a month for a private swim. Thank god we went in first!!! And DH was beyond disappointed when there wasn't a woman under 55 among them all.........most were white haired men over 70 Grin. I think your DH has watched a dodgy porn film..... I'd go if only to watch his face crumble as he clocks the naked women there..............!!!

GrandDesespoir · 14/05/2017 10:31

Not wishing to appear naïve, but surely it must be possible for a man to want to go to a nudist camp to enjoy his own nakedness, rather than just to perv?

Also, what do naturists do when they're on their period?

CricketRuntAndRashers · 14/05/2017 10:36

:D

Uhmm, well. I think he will be very disappointed if he's going there with the intention of fulfilling some sort of erotic fantasy. (unless there are various elderly males in these fantasies....)

If you aren't comfortable? Don't go!

memyselfandaye · 14/05/2017 10:38

Who the hell does he think he is to decide that you will show your naked body to other people?

Your body, your choice.

Quite frankly he needs a slap.

PoorYorick · 14/05/2017 10:39

Also, what do naturists do when they're on their period?

This won't be an issue for the dominant demographic, but I guess tampons for those who are.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 14/05/2017 10:39

I personally don't know think I'd care too much about being naked.

Bathing topless wasn't unusualy where I grew up/went on holidays.

I also quite like swimming nude (mostly in rivers and lakes). But I don't quite see the purpose of walking around nude.

Especially not nude hiking, barbecuing etc.

I mean, ticks, brambles, nettles, mosquitos, horseflies etc... Nope.

PoorYorick · 14/05/2017 10:41

Also, even if everyone is young and beautiful, there's actually not much sexy about people just going about their daily business with no clothes on. Clothes are sexy, mundane nudity just isn't. Which is why the men pretty much never get hard (but are supposed to jump in the pool quickly if they do).

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 14/05/2017 10:43

It'll cut down your washing load I suppose.
I don't get it at all. I'm always cold in this country, would you be shunned from the group if you put a cardi on?

CricketRuntAndRashers · 14/05/2017 10:49

ILost

I don't think so. My stepmother used to go camping in a nudist camp as a child (with her family. It was a nudist camp exclusively for families, btw).

According to her she often walked around wearking a raincoat/parka and wellies, for example. That was apparently quite acceptable. So were aprons, btw (to protect sensitive bits when cooking...)

I occasionally drink in a working men's club. Some of the patrons do go on nudist holidays. All old wrinkly blokes they look grim clothed.....(the socks and sandals brigade) I really don't think they would look better naked though!

This reminds me I read an article somewhere and in it young lads reported that it was weird after seeing girls naked , how ill fitting and unflattering their clothes were!

rightwhine · 14/05/2017 11:01

It would be err interesting...

What concerns me more is that despite your obvious reluctance to go, he has managed to persuade you and you have presumably agreed.

Does this often happen in your relationship? That he dictates what you have to do?

PaintingOwls · 14/05/2017 11:04

I am very open-minded and have been to a nudist beach (it was just me, DP and an old man there... joys), but I would refuse to go on principle. How dare he sign you up without talking to you about it first and seeking permission?

pigeondujour · 14/05/2017 11:06

Who the fuck do these creeps think they are that they think nubile young women, if they were there, would want to be perved over by old gross men? Such a vile sense of entitlement. Let alone the way he's behaving towards you. Absolutely disgusting.

NotTheFordType · 14/05/2017 11:12

Most of them (like me) have bodies which would be better off well hidden by clothing.

This is a such a sad attitude. Every body is a work of art. The idea that they should be hidden if they don't conform to some ridiculous mass media stereotype makes me :(

Plainandsimple · 14/05/2017 15:29

Wait, hold on - Cap D'Adge is a NUDIST town?? My (then in their 60's) parents holidayed there for years! Shock

Elendon · 14/05/2017 16:05

Plainandsimple I feel your pain. It is indeed a nudist town and pleasant it isn't. I can't even begin with the restaurant we were supposed to go to. I high tailed it out of there pdq.

crunched · 14/05/2017 16:20

Thank you notthefordtype . So sad most people seem to find bodies over 40 so repulsive, particularly if not slim and toned.
My BiL grew up as a naturist. He persuades my DSis to go to resorts of this type. She was initially unsure but now tell me that nothing can beat the freedom of ocean swimming and an all over tan. She usually chucks on a sarong to visit the bar etc. They have holidayed in the Greek Islands for 20 years or so and do not go naked in the UK.
It is a shame the op feels unable to fully believe her DH just wants to experience the liberation he thinks no clothes may provide unless there is a back story.

TDHManchester · 14/05/2017 17:04

Well its awfully presumptuous of him to sign up and then assume neigh expect you to tag along because i think his real motivation is the prospect of titillation and sexual adventure. If you are not up for it, tell him ,simples. He is just after extras..methinks.

niangua · 14/05/2017 17:08

Tell him to get to fuck, and remind him there are legal terms for me who force women into arrangements of a sexual/nude nature they are not comfortable with.

morningconstitutional2017 · 14/05/2017 18:45

My dear late husband's response to nudists was that he didn't want to look at other men's wrinkly old knackers, thanks very much.

LadyLapsang · 14/05/2017 19:34

If the nudists on Studland beach are representative, unless wrinkly old men are his thing, he will be sorely disappointed.

phoenix1973 · 14/05/2017 19:38

My dad recently left a naturist resort.
I visited him from time to time.
The youngest resident was my Dad. He's 64.
Worry not!
