How did you meet your DP/ DH?

I'm too scared for online dating. But I don't go out much - there's work, and uni.. but everyone at uni is very young and carefree and I only work a shift or two every couple of weeks so not much chance of love blossoming there.

So I wanted to hear your stories! Where/ how did you meet your significant other?

Online. Wouldn't have happened organically. I don't go anywhere!

I do go out with friends but its always prearranged so never off the cuff and I don't talk to men if I'm out with friends.
I'm self employed and work alone so no chance in work either. We've been together around 20 months.

Moved into a shared house and he was already there!

Online with both my exes. One I met on mums net. :D

I worked behind the bar in a club where he was on the committee. Although we had actually worked at the same company two years before but didn't register each other.

I met him at a pub. Hadn't been single for very long and was more bothered about leaving my children with my mum for the night. I was with a friend who said we'd take a detour, then I ended up gatecrashing someones (who I didn't know) birthday. Felt like a total idiot so I sat in a smoking area having a quiet fag to myself. He staggered over and asked me for a lighter. I saved him from falling down the steps. He said he knew from the second he saw me but I thought he was a bit of an arse actually

I really shouldn't have been there (and I certainly wasn't welcome, the girl whose birthday it was, was very miffed!) and when we turned up I almost got back into the cab. I don't know what made me stay.

Blind date! 12 years Plus of marriage and 2 DC. We annoy each other, love each other too.

On our friends roof deck over looking the lake of Zurich, wasn't quite as romantic as it sounds as he'd left his wife about a month before so was a bit of a wreck, and I was totally hammered!!

On Twitter, 8 years ago. We used to spend our lives on there, 300 miles apart, tweeting whatever came to mind to each other and now neither of us use it because we talk all our shit to each other in real life

I think online dating can be so daunting because you're really putting yourself out there for judgement...but if you take it easy with no expectations it might work for you, so many people I know met their OH on a dating site!

He stood across the road from me dressed as Robin Hood and said his mum said he could come over and play if my mum said it was ok. this was in 1986

We were best friends from then got together 1996 and got married this year.

In a random bar when I was 25. Just saw him and that was it. He says it was the same for him. I'd nearly stayed in that night as well, but a friend had dragged me out. We got married 6 months later and it was all a bit of a whirlwind tbh. Now in our early 40s with 4 kids and he's still the love of my life. So you never know your minute!

At uni. I was a first year and he was a third year but we were both in the same sports club. He called dibs when I first joined but I didn't find this out until after we got together. God he was an arrogant arse!

Now we're engaged and have a DD.

At University (I was doing an ill fated PGCE). DW was in the flat above me

Online, he'd logged on to delete his account in despair, id logged on and decided to bite the bullet and click like on his profile.
3 1/2 years, family dramas, including death, missing kids, and a marriage (my dd), and we're what we were always looking for: Team montane 50, i have his back, and he has mine.
