AIBU - DP leaving DD home alone to go and buy a ready meal

On my way back from a day trip whilst DP looks after our 2 year old DD. Spoke to DP and he was about to head to the supermarket to buy his ready meal. The supermarket is the the opposite side of the road, but at least a 2-3 min walk from the house, let alone the time spent in there. I'm very grateful for him taking a day off to look after our DD, but also concerned. Am I being ridiculously over fussy?

No, you're not being fussy. Why couldn't he take your child with him?
You said 'our' child, why are you grateful he looked after her - albeit not very well if he was considering leaving a 2 year child alone?!

No way! I am fairly slack compared to many but I would say a toddler was the absolute worst age to leave alone for any length of time.

Definitely not unreasonable at all. I think it's a criminal offence to leave a small child alone at home and definitely not safe.

Is she asleep? He shouldn't go out and leave her alone just in case. How does he know there aren't huge queues? He could be gone ages.

She's already asleep (although I'll be home in 10 mins, before the supermarket closes) he says it's the same as putting the bins out. The bins are halfway between here and the supermarket. But I still can't see the logic!

I waited till my youngest was about 10 before I popped quickly out as I felt more confident (also older child too) that she could cope in an emergency even then I felt she was too young!
