DH annoyed me but I may have blown it out of proportion

We were sat flicking through the music channels earlier and that "Lazy Town" song came on. I said "oh, (friends little girl) loves this song..."

DH said "How old is she?"

I said "7"

so he said, "no the girl on tv..." so I said I had no idea and he started going on about her appearance and said "well judging by how developed etc she is I'd say no older than 10.." I wasnt expecting that and it did annoy me a bit but I left it.

Anyway I was speaking to my friend and me got talking about lazy town and out of curiosity I asked how old the girl was and my friend said she was 15.

I then told DH "by the way, that girl is 15".

He then turned around and said "you're joking?? that's the most underdeveloped 15 year old I've ever seen then..." So I got annoyed and said more or less "is that all you think about" and called him a pervert, he hit the roof and said he didnt mean it like that and I was out of order.

So was I out of order? How would you have reacted to these types of comments?

Hmm
colditz · 28/01/2007 23:08

out of order to call him a pervert.

SheenaPunkRocker · 28/01/2007 23:11

you do not think his comments regarding a little girl were perverted?

OP posts:
emkana · 28/01/2007 23:12

The way you describe it here I think you overreacted.

SherlockLGJ · 28/01/2007 23:15

I think you as first time poster are seeking reactions from established posters.

This annoys me.............but out of all proportion.........

Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 23:15

Um, can't see it, somehow. I think you owe him an apology.

CountessDracula · 28/01/2007 23:15

from what you say in your post I can't see that he said anything to warrant being called a pervert

SheenaPunkRocker · 28/01/2007 23:17

Can I just clarify that he was talking about her chest when he was saying about how developed she was.

If some bloke was talking about my daughter like that I'd be annoyed.

And no, I'm not looking for reactions, just opinions.

OP posts:
Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 23:19

Do you think all dads go blind when their daughters reach 12, or what?

He wasn't talking about her in a lustful manner, was he? He just commented that she looked younger than 15 - most girls have "filled out" in various ways by then.

If my dh had said it I would have assumed he was being disapproving about a child that young being in a pop video. But then, we are a pair of old farts

wotzsaname · 28/01/2007 23:19

if his comments make you feel uneasy, there may be other reasons too to make you concerned.
Maybe it was just blown out of proportion, or if there is anything elese bothering you?

CountessDracula · 28/01/2007 23:21

I think Sheena would be better off doing some goat-frightening than posting on here tbh

SheenaPunkRocker · 28/01/2007 23:22

Other things bothering me...he's obsessed with "breasts", I know most men are but he's annoying with it, for instance the other day I was searching the net for a swimming costume, just a normal every day one. DH then decides to look on lingerie sights and look specificially for DD+ size costumes, I told him I'm not a DD+ and he insists I am, like he knows more than I do about it.

Its just things like that.

OP posts:
SherlockLGJ · 28/01/2007 23:24

lingerie sights

Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 23:24

That would annoy me. Is he generally an immature tosspot, or does he just think it's clever to be all sleazy about tits? If you think he has the brains to take it in, I would have a frank chat with him about the fact that women do NOT find smirky leching attractive.

wotzsaname · 28/01/2007 23:24

My Dh would not behave like this, so i cant comment any more.

CountessDracula · 28/01/2007 23:24

now where did I put that pot of knuckle wax?

SherlockLGJ · 28/01/2007 23:25

CD

I would help, but I can not find my Yorkie...

SheenaPunkRocker · 28/01/2007 23:26

sites I meant obviously, sorry I will try to make sure my English is perfect from now on.

GreenSleeves, he's generally immature like this, there are loads more examples but I can't be arsed with this thread anymore just wanted some basic opinions on the original post. Thanks for your replies.

off to eat some green, green grass now?

SherlockLGJ · 28/01/2007 23:27

Hope you make assembly in the morning.

Sleep well little one.

Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 23:28

Oh dear, sorry Sheena - people can be a bit hasty in declaring new posters trolls or not genuine - don't take it to heart.

Do you really want to be with someone who is generally infantile and sleazy? It would make my skin crawl, personally. Do you have children together? Is he intelligent enough to take criticism, if you tell him you find his behaviour gross and offputting?

CountessDracula · 28/01/2007 23:29
Hmm
Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 23:30

I think it's a bit mean to assume someone isn't genuine on so little evidence.

No offence meant.

CountessDracula · 28/01/2007 23:31

oh no sorry greeny that was at LGJ's rather odd post!

Greensleeves · 28/01/2007 23:32

Oh thank god, I have been called sanctimonious a few times lately
