Did your husband tell you he loved you on your wedding day?

Mine didn't. Anyone else experience the same? Did it/does it bother you?

DH and I didn't say it to each other, as we're not the sentimental type and we hardly ever say it. We cut the vows down to the most basic that was allowed as all the more flowery examples on offer made me cringe a bit. It didn't bother me, I know full well he loved me, as he wouldn't have been marrying me if he didn't!

dementedma · 31/05/2016 21:53

No

Longdistance · 31/05/2016 21:53

No, we had too much 🍾

Chasingsquirrels · 31/05/2016 21:53

I'll tell you tomorrow!

SirChenjin · 31/05/2016 21:53

As in during the vows? Nope, that would have been far too cringey.

I'm pretty sure he must have said it at some point, it was 22 years ago so can't really remember Confused

Pleasemrstweedie · 31/05/2016 21:53

Almost certainly. He tells me most days.

Married 12 years, together 14.

DuvetDayEveryday · 31/05/2016 21:54

Most definitely. He tells me (and more importantly, he shows me) how much he loves me every day.

My first husband didn't say it at all.

sminkypinky · 31/05/2016 21:54

No he didn't, I didn't say it to him either, hadn't really thought about it until now to be honest. Like spunsugar we're not really sentimental and don't really say it that often.

situatedknowledge · 31/05/2016 21:56

Chasingsquirrels! Do you get married tomorrow?

MrsBungle · 31/05/2016 21:58

Not during the vows but at least 10 times during the day! We say it most days to each other.

Chasingsquirrels · 31/05/2016 22:02

Well - fingers crossed! Looks quite likely we will be able to go ahead atm but have to see how DP is tomorrow.

LuluJakey1 · 31/05/2016 22:04

Not during the vows but before we left for the Registry Office, when we were at the reception and later at the hotel when we were lying exhausted watching a norror film, too tired for sex and eating bacon sandwiches and having cups of tea.

pinktransit · 31/05/2016 22:04

Probably. But he told a lot of lies that day...

LuluJakey1 · 31/05/2016 22:06

Hope it all goes ahead ChasingSquirrels and that you have the best day. Have read your other thread. You both deserve a lovely day.

DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2016 22:06

I can't remember! We've been married nearly 26 years, so it worked out OK.

Chasing hope it works out for you both tomorrow Flowers

bert3400 · 31/05/2016 22:09

Yes mine did but he also mentioned about less farting as well and that hasn't happend !Smile

Auriga · 31/05/2016 22:10

No. He doesn't tell me. He may have said it twice in 20 years. But he shows it in his actions every day.

Pinkheart5915 · 31/05/2016 22:11

Mine did after we were married and the kissing bit was over.
Dh says he loves me most days

LogicalThinking · 31/05/2016 22:11

Mine tells me every day - always has done.

leopardspice · 31/05/2016 22:13

Yes definitely said "I love you" however he didn't need to SAY it because he acts and shows me that he loves me daily so if he hadn't actually said the words on the big day it wouldnt have changed anything

AndYourBirdCanSing · 31/05/2016 22:13

Chasing good luck for tomorrow! Hope it all goes well!

I can't remember to be honest but I'm guessing he did

MardleBum · 31/05/2016 22:14

I can't remember specifically but I don't think there has been a day in 25 years that he hasn't told me, so I would think that my wedding day was no different!

My mother on the other hand, well I can't remember her ever saying it in my life.

Tootsiepops · 31/05/2016 22:15

Can't actually remember, but guessing not as he tends not to say it very often.

ifeeltheneedtheneedforspeed · 31/05/2016 22:15

Thanks for the replies, I guess as things are not so great at the moment I'm analysing things too much. Reassuring to know it's actually quite common.
