Our lovely mouseface usually starts these threads but I've just noticed that the previous one is almost full, so I'm facing technology and get the next one set up.

Anyone, absolutely anyone, who feels they have a problem with drink is welcome here. Whether you're trying to stop, or cut down a little, whether you've been sober for years, or even if you're too scared even to contemplate what is happening. If you think it will help you to post, or lurk, then please do.

There's often a lot of nonsense and banter, but lots of good sound advice.

And there is always lots of support and care and no judgement.

This is the link to the previous thread, if you want to read what's been going on so far The Previous Thread

And this is the link to JesusWhatNext 's original thread started 6 years ago The Original Thread

work I have to keep posting on here (however many times I fail) otherwise I can easily see myself slipping back into old habits. Despite not quite cracking dry weekends I've largely managed dry weekdays this month so I'm pleased with that. I expect to clock up 17 days dry this month...and hope to build on that come May.

claret and isinde well done. You are an inspiration! I have only done two AF (this mon and last mon). I am officially crap. And now feel I should reward myself for not drinking last night by having a drink this evening. It's bloody tough this, isn't it?

work I feel your pain. Hate trying to go to sleep AF as I know that even though I will feel better in the morning, I will be tossing and turning all night, and then feel knackered the rest of the next day.

will - waiting for dentist update!

Hay babes, all good here, it wasn't bad at all. In trying to figure out if it worked. Still have very slight pain when I bite down but might just be settling down. Going back in a week to do the last part.

All these AG days in a row from you lot are keeping me going, and even if they are not in a row but blocking up over time is an insperation as well! Go Babes!!!

Today I have been mostly boil washing and vacuuming Grin

Told you! Glad it was ok. Ick to boil washing etc. I hope it isn't anything too horrible. I once contracted something rather nasty from a cheap hotel whispers scabies and it was a bloody nightmare with all the washing and cleaning. Especially when my doctor blithely announced it was a common infection that usually affected 'the poorest of the poor in Victorian times', and then told me that it was associated with poverty and poor hygiene. Oh great, cheers mate. He shut up when I told him about the questionable hotel never visiting dodgy hotels in be back end of France again.

Just realised that sounded awful if it is indeed the dreaded s word. Apparently it is becoming more and more common these days, and can be attributed to a number of things (massively back-pedalling) but even if it is, I've had it so hey ho.

Oh Lordy, please just pass my shovel and I'll dig my own hole...

Haha lala you do love a triple post Grin, no it's not the dreded S word. It's worms. Dsd always has her fingers in her mouth so im not surprised but do feel sorry for her. She was only here one night so I'm
sure we'll be ok but just in case iyswim.

Sorry about all the typos I'm my other post. clocking not blocking & AF not AG Blush

I am hugely apologetic about my triple posts. There is something very wrong with my phone... But then again, I did just admit to once having scabies (shakes fist at grumpy and clearly slovenly French Monsieur somewhere in the north east of France), so I guess justice is done...

Ergh worms. But not as bad as scabies, right??? How old is DD? She'll be ok...

Speaking of worms (as you do), can any lovely babes with dogs help me with worming advice for the demon puppy?? I keep reading conflicting advice and my vet (although hunky) didn't really clarify the situation... Probably more to do with me going bright red and weak kneed when he started bestowing advice upon me...

Glad it went well will!!! Hopefully it's all ok and that can be put behind you.

Boil washing does not sound like fun but better to be safe than sorry! All these childhood ailments are no fun are they.

lala your triple posts make me chuckle.

All ok here, feeling a bit under the weather but pretty sure that's just tiredness. Hopefully a few days of af-ness, healthy eating and good nights sleep will see me right.

Hello ladies. I am boarding the bus with my shiny new user name. Not sure I'm ready to open up about the mess my life is in right now. But I have been reading this thread (and the last one) and would like to take a seat on the bus with you all.

Hi babes,

Welcome furry, great name BTW. I think you will find most of our lives are disaster zones in one way or another so there's not much you can say on here which has not been said many times before. So glad you felt ready to post and your super welcome xxx

lala your posts are fab, always bring a smile to my face, you sound beautifully bonkers and you also have a horse, your my hero!!! Keep em coming.

On the subject of puppy worms, when I got our pup I had to drive 4 hours to get her, had my Mum with me and I also had a horrific hangover. We went to buy one pup but ended up taking 2!!! Both were super sick in the car and what seemed like a gazillion worms came up, wriggling all over me!!! I promptly vommitted all over myself and the worms, then my Mum threw up due to her squeamish disposition, it was carnage. Anyhow I ended up having to drive the whole way home in my bra, my actual bra and gagging most of the way with a worsening hangover.

Not my finest hour!!!

Hi to Startled and also to slim and anyone I've missed amongst the flurry of posts. Do keep posting even if people don't respond much straight away. It takes time to settle in sometimes but you are all welcome and will soon get to know us all Smile

Isinde and Work my sleep is almost always fantastic these days. I love my bed so even if I don't drift off straight away I just stretch out and luxuriate. It is one of the greatest gifts of sober living in my opinion. (Well that and the lack of hangovers of course). Also, so far this year I've lost 18lb and it's staying off just by being that little bit more careful about what I eat and drink.

Claret I can hardly believe that April is nearly over already. It seems like only a few days ago we started dry April and now there are only four more days to go. Do them dry with me?

Has anyone heard from Mouse?

well done on the name checking will takes hat off in respect

AF day is going fine here....had my soup, sitting under a blanket watching trashy tv and playing on the computer. DH will be watching football shortly so i am going to retire upstairs and do some online jigsaws and get an early night. What are your plans?

baby!!!! I can hardly cope with one pup! And as wriggling worms in your bra, oh dear god!!!! falls down scabies infested hole built with own shovel in honour of will* I have had to have a waitrose coffee (smug waitrose card holder here - although I am not sure what they actually do, apart from offer me caffeinated drinks at the time of night when no-one in their right mind drinks them).

My phone is up to funny business this evening, and either I am hallucinating through lack of alcohol or too much waitrose coffee, but it just SLEETED HERE! It's nearly may for gods sake. *

baby, the horse was ace this evening, did lots of lovely transitions, attempted some turns on the forehand, let's just say we need more practice. Almost nailed a flying change until she got distracted by a pesky pigeon and decided to charge about. Bad horse.

Everyone else, I apologise for my millions of updates. And I stupidly bought a bottle of wine. I need your help to let me just sniff it and then relegate it to the uppermost cupboard of the kitchen...

Going to charge about in the garden with little miss puppy (bit nervous for her puppy party tomorrow. What If she embarrasses me? What if I embarrass her?!! Oh the tension). I have done a lot of charging about this evening, and if I am honest, I prefer it if someone else on four legs aka the long suffering Lala horse, is doing it for me. I am a lazy git
