Standing there in their pants. Since when did this become a thing?? Do they not realise how desperate it looks?

I actually thing OD is becoming worse not better!

You're all so tame!! As soon as I give Prince Charming my number he's whatsapping me dick pics, next to a can of Febreeze for size reference.

Like every time. Before its even got flirty. I'd never think to send a photo of my fracker before even saying hello! OLD is a joke to me now Blush

JellyBean31 · 23/03/2016 15:50

Hahahaha....yes to all of these - I'm on tinder and I'd say 85% are automatically a swipe left. Fish/motorbikes/cars/bathroom selfies and (for me anyway) baldies.

And the fuglies who say, I'm only up for NSA...I want to message "in what universe???"

And agree with pp - I'm 49 and I get loads of messages saying - how old are you really? come on, it's not impossible for there to be nice looking 49yr olds out there, I know I'm not in the minority!!!

Are there terms & conditions on tinder??? cos If there's a particular funny profile (the extremely hairy chest and no head shot guy springs to mind) I screen shot it to send to all my friends to give them a laugh - am I breaking any rules?

RedMapleLeaf · 23/03/2016 15:52

I'm on a fitness website where people post photos of themselves taken in bathrooms or, worse, public toilets. I have to stop myself from commenting on untidy bathrooms and dirty mirrors.

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon · 23/03/2016 16:16

Jelly no way, once it's out there it's fair game as far as I'm concerned! I screenshotted the worst I'd ever seen, 2 pics of a man's scalp tattoos, devil horns and a screaming face, as well as the profile line 'fuck every1 in X TOWN there all cunts' (there was more but I forget it, that was the jist)
That got shared! Comedy gold

isseywithcats · 23/03/2016 16:37

the best one i saw on pof was a guy in his kitchen, not him but if you looked at the background his kitchen looked like it should be on hoarders, there was rubbish and stuff everywhere maybe he thought it would attract someone who loves cleaning, dread to think what the rest of his house looked like

TheSinkingFeeling · 23/03/2016 16:44

Hardly the same thing though! Those of us who are a bit thin on top can't be lumped in with the poseurs and Fish Men.

JollyXmasJumper · 23/03/2016 17:01

Wait. Don't forget the pictures taken from 50 shades of Grey. Because bondage is apparently irresistible to women. Not

UterusUterusGhali · 23/03/2016 17:28

Interesting to hear about the no-nos for women.

I do have a couple of selfies as I'm not going to ask my kids to take pictures of me for OLD. Grin

I try to put some full-length in, so they're not shocked when I roll through the door. Blush

I have a strict "No Men Called Lee or Fish Botherers" policy.

Shameandregret · 23/03/2016 17:33

And what about the written profile paragraph things? There are some REALLY passive aggressive men on there 'if you are going to match with me talk or really what is the point, I am not a number, if you don't want to meet me then go to hell, if you are frigid do one, if you are not willing to share naked pictures you are not for me...' And on and on.

Tinder amuses and horrifies me in equal measure. And the skiing/top of a mountain/mountain biking shots are YAWN.

TheSinkingFeeling · 23/03/2016 17:38

Shame, the women on Tinder put very similar things. Usually about hair/teeth/'if you aren't going to talk, don't match with me' etc etc.

lottielou7 · 23/03/2016 17:44

I think the majority of men who do OD are losers tbh. I am sure there are some gems out there but they are few and far between.

I'm 35 so a guy the same age as me whose never been married and can't hold down a relationship is likely to have issues.

Friday night me & mates swiping thru Tinder cracking up laughing at the older "anyone up for some fun" guys who looked like "fun" would give them a heart attack, they were that knackered looking. WHAT fun?! Thats what Id like to know (or maybe not)

Men whose 1st line is "my kids are my world" Id immediately think "Oh do shut up no they're effing not, you're looking for an ear for your Im Disney dad of the century she was a fool to let me go disgruntled chronicles

Zaphodsotherhead · 23/03/2016 18:02

supSlick Have you ever been tempted to reply 'where do you get those really small cans of Febreze, they'd be ideal for my caravan'? I would...

Hissy · 23/03/2016 18:10

Anyone called Dave, or with kids in their pictures is a big fat no. My kids are my life... I love my son but have him all the time because his dad CBA, my life IS my son, but I'm trying to add balance while still doing the best I can.

I once ditched someone who was doing 50/50 care of his dc but wanted to cut back a bit so he had more of a life himself... What a prince amongst men!

I'm adding shirtless pics to this list.

I do wonder who on earth posts some of these godawful profile pics and thinks they have a chance.

I do try to give the benefit of the doubt to those who can't string a sentence together, but it's not a great start and it's a thinly marked black mark if I'm honest.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 23/03/2016 18:16

Women's profile photos can be an absolute hoot as well, be it the soft focus lens, the 'artful' black and white studio shots, all those duck face pouty shots, the cliched cartwheel on a beach, hugging the pet spaniel, or the couple shot that has been chopped in half but you can still see the blokes arm over the shoulder, the 'oops it appears someone has taken a snap of me down the gym doing crunches and if you look closely you can see the beads of sweat on my brow but lucky for me I am in full make up' shot. Believe me there are just as many deluded and borderline narcistic women out there as there are men.

TheSinkingFeeling · 23/03/2016 18:18

Oh god, I forgot about the studio shots...

lottielou7 · 23/03/2016 18:31

Then there are the fuzzy photographs where you can't quite make out their features - or just a shot of their face in profile. These people have something to hide!

Oh yes there are the ones from about three miles away, the ones so close-up you can see up their nostrils and my personal favourite, those posing at a family meal with their elderly parents Confused.

I was chatting to one man. When we were due to meet he said, did I tell you I had a live in partner? Er no you didn't. So that explains why your photo was one of you at a wedding with about 100 people and you had to point out you were third row second from the left.

TheSinkingFeeling · 23/03/2016 18:52

Of the last few women I've dated online, one was still living with her ex (didn't tell me that for a while), and another was still married (nor did she).

ComtesseDeSpair · 23/03/2016 19:00

It's all six and two threes. I've looked through women's profiles - trying to size up my "competition" so to speak - and to be honest, there wasn't much of it! Not because I'm super gorgeous and amazing but because most women's profiles are as dire as most men's. Duck facing and public toilet mirror body shots are the female equivalent of men's topless and fishing photos. Men may rule out women their own age and bigger women; women rule out short and bald men and men who aren't athletic looking. Men write that they love football and the gym and watching sports and wonder why women don't find that appealing; women write that they love shopping and nights out with the girls and wonder the same.

ComtesseDeSpair · 23/03/2016 19:03

And everyone seems to spend their life travelling the world! They've supposedly been to Mexico, Singapore and Australia this year already and off to travel the length and breadth of India in the summer. I don't know anyone who has as much annual leave as people on OLD.

Nepotism · 23/03/2016 19:03

If you're on POF, try Rate Photos. They cheekily ask registered users to censor photos. I have happy Saturday nights seeing how many I can delete!

Hissy · 23/03/2016 19:11

The shots where the pics are all group shots and you have to work out who is the actual guy.

Almost without exception I fancy one of the mates...

Hissy · 23/03/2016 19:12

I moderate for OK Cupid. Hilarious but not safe for work...

Trills · 23/03/2016 19:12

I find it very useful - if people who just want sex pose in this manner I won't waste my time talking to them.
