I posted earlier about not having had much luck with dating this year. I'm 30.

Can anyone tell me their stories (hopefully happy ones!) about meeting their DH?

All, and I mean all, my close friends married between ages 24-28. I need some positive stories!

I love the sweeping generalisations on mumsnet. Grin

I truly believe that I was too immature to fully understand the implications of marriage in my 20s, Shock, a female.

Like Million said - much too busy doing exactly what Million was doing in my 20s.

I am sure there are many people who did meet/marry earlier than I did who are very happy.

Met now DH age 30. You can't picture it happening because you feel pessimistic about it, but it more than likely will happen if you're open to meeting people and trying things out and not being set on a 'type' etc. You change a lot in your 20s, when I started dating DH he was so far from what I thought I would want that I never could have foreseen that I would want even a proper relationship let alone that he would become the strongest and most positive relationship I'd ever had.

Not quite met DH on blind date 3 weeks before I turned 30, got engaged 6 weeks later, married after 18mths and have now been married for 14 years.

I was married at 20 but it ended 5 years later. At 32, after several failed relationships and countless first/second dates, many from OLD I got in touch with my first love who I saw on FB had split from his partner. He is moving in next month and we will be getting married in 12-18 months. I am so happy, it can definitely happen. Often when you are least expecting it.

my dd met her dh on line in her early 30s. Everything seems to be going step by step in the right direction - not too fast tho.
