Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

A place for pouring out your heart without being judged, mostly because a lot of us have been exactly where you are right now, or somewhere similar.

We've been around for a while, so there's not much that we've not seen..... or heard.... or been through ourselves.

Some of the Babes are newer to the Bus, some of the Babes have been here on dear old "Gerald" (The name this Bus was given by one of the Babes, I forget who now!I suspect IsinDe or Silver) for a little while longer!

EVERYONE is welcome here. Drinkers, those who are complete non drinkers, and those who are somewhere in the middle of all of the above. :)

Some Babes are in control of their drinking, some not so much. It's dreadfully hard some days, days when there is nothing going around your head except thinking that you MUST have a drink and you sit there trying to work out when, what time you can have that first mouthful of ice cold poison.

Whatever your goal here, or why you're here, we'll all help you along the way, YOUR WAY.

There will be one of us on here that can relate to your life story as if it were a mirror they were looking at, someone to hold your hand if you want it, catch you if you fall, which you may or may not. Positive thinking, just One Day At A Time.

No one Babe is better than any other, we've all been addicts. We've all suffered, yes some more than others but it's not a competition (and no-one gets turned away) but if you rack up shed loads of sober days, you will be a winner on the thread!!

So, if you want somewhere safe to sit and enjoy the warming summer sun, come find a seat, have a chat or just sit and listen to the rest of us yakking on!!

Isinde Day 6 today Your description of your wine buying reminds of when people give up smoking not me and they have a packet of fags in the kitchen drawer, just so that they know it's there if they need one.And yet they don't touch them and give up successfully, almost like their security blanket Do you have a shed and can you lock the wine box away? It is Friday which is always a trigger for me - long week, worked hard, I deserve just a glass which it never is with me, I need my reward for getting through the week. Just think how lovely it will be to wake up tomorrow with DT without a hangover, clear headed, ready to face the long weekend

It's take a ticket for school shoe fitting day for us. I didn't want to leave it so late, but I've been convinced all Summer DS is due a growth spurt. It hasn't materialised, poor kid .

I'm rather embarrassed to say that my app is telling me that I have 'saved' £184 pounds, and today is only day 16 . I shall spend some of it treating puss to something special - today is her first birthday, she is officially a cat now not a kitten .

Morning babes, last day at work today and then I have two week's of much needed holiday. Tons of work to do before I leave (was off for a week when my mother died and the amount of work left for me by the other girl in the office was unreal - when I came back last Thursday she announced she was taking the week off as she was so stressed when I was off). She has been here almost 30 years but this is the first time I have basically left her in the lurch and she couldn't cope [grr].

Obrigada, that is awful. Some people have no empathy. Enjoy your holiday, are you going away or just taking it easy at home?

Isinde can you do something with the wine before the 5pm whispering starts today? Put it out in the shed with the spiders.

Isinde, the shoe shopping took all of five mins , probably because most people have done it already. The boy just had the same as last year (and the year before) in a larger size; leather shoes are the point at which my vegetarianism goes out of the window!

I'm so pleased for you though, that clarity, it's a huge present to yourself as well as DP and DTs .

Yes,fit chaps in uniform have been the order of the day.....important chaps too! I can so get used to people standing up when I enter a room and calling me ma'am...

It is.I do like working with the military at that level. They are so well mannered but also proactive, decisive and very very funny, if you aren't easily offended! If my master plan comes off then I will be working with them a lot more......

Hell of an incentive

Hey all. Been away for a while with elderly parents and (v young) DD and no wifi, and it has been lovely, exhausting, hugely sad and very rewarding at the same time, if that makes sense. And two bottles (at least) a day to 'cope ' (ha) - in a highly functioning kind of way, of course. Shattered by 8pm each day, but so lucky to spend some proper time with my very special (and fabulously frustrating) DPs.

Anyway, this is really just to say to Obrigada, I am so sorry - my love and thoughts are with you, and I really hope you are ok.

And to everyone else, I'll be clinging on to the sidecar til Tues and yes, will be resetting my 'done drinking' app then. Depressingly, and so predictably, I found myself pouring vodka into my diet coke can at around 11am today thinking 'oh well, I won't be doing this again once the bank holiday is over, so I might as well go for it now'. How quickly those habits creep back. Grr. I bore myself with these mental gyrations. Opal fruits and a hug, please, anyone?

Small, I recognise that thought process, the going for it because, I'm stopping soon; I sense it'll be a relief when Tuesday is here?

Morning All

I really struggled yesterday, had to put myself on red alert. From about Midday the desire to drink (to get completely hammered) just kept growing and growing. I had to distract, distract, distract. Fucking awful that after all this time the desire can be so strong
I think I've got to the point where I'm like 'ok done that now, done a good length of time now I want to get hammered' clearly in my case not just one glass but at least 2 bottles to myself
Thank you Sweet & Isinde for your 'well dones' it filled my heart with good feelings and then I was like 'BORED NOW WANT TO GO BACK TO THE REALITY THAT IS FAMILIAR TO ME'
A group of my friends go to the pub on a Friday afternoon and for the past few weeks I've been joining them and quite happily had 2 or 3 Becks Blues but yesterday I couldn't bring myself to go because I was gagging for a drink & that particular pub has nothing that I would want to drink, no cider that I like, wine is pants, no fizz and shite lager - So that at least was a good thing and also why I probably find it not so hard not to drink.
I also keep thinking that if I'm going to drink it has to be something bloody decent. I'm not going to have something mediocre. Maybe all this started when I spotted a bottle of Lanson in my mates fridge yesterday morning (having just spent near on £100 on DD2s school uniform) and I looked at it and thought 'fuck me I could sooooo neck that now'

Sorry this is very me me me. I just had to share and I know it's a bit off putting that after all this time I am still gagging for a drink, not every day but on some days I JUST WANT TO.

Fox darling sounds like a lovely time with DPs and little'un. I for one am looking forward to you coming back with your app Role on Tuesday that's what I say x
