Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

A place for pouring out your heart without being judged, mostly because a lot of us have been exactly where you are right now, or somewhere similar.

We've been around for a while, so there's not much that we've not seen..... or heard.... or been through ourselves.

Some of the Babes are newer to the Bus, some of the Babes have been here on dear old "Gerald" (The name this Bus was given by one of the Babes, I forget who now!I suspect IsinDe or Silver) for a little while longer!

EVERYONE is welcome here. Drinkers, those who are complete non drinkers, and those who are somewhere in the middle of all of the above. :)

Some Babes are in control of their drinking, some not so much. It's dreadfully hard some days, days when there is nothing going around your head except thinking that you MUST have a drink and you sit there trying to work out when, what time you can have that first mouthful of ice cold poison.

Whatever your goal here, or why you're here, we'll all help you along the way, YOUR WAY.

There will be one of us on here that can relate to your life story as if it were a mirror they were looking at, someone to hold your hand if you want it, catch you if you fall, which you may or may not. Positive thinking, just One Day At A Time.

No one Babe is better than any other, we've all been addicts. We've all suffered, yes some more than others but it's not a competition (and no-one gets turned away) but if you rack up shed loads of sober days, you will be a winner on the thread!!

So, if you want somewhere safe to sit and enjoy the warming summer sun, come find a seat, have a chat or just sit and listen to the rest of us yakking on!!

You can do it, you are getting closer to 'the boing'. Visualise ordering lime and soda at DN's 'do'. Keep repeating "I'll have a lime and soda" in your head as you walk in. I find I have to interrupt the automatic "Pinot Blush, please", but rehearsing the alternative works.

Bugger. I have a big bulge and a leak in my living room ceiling!

OK. Have rallied since yesterday and am going with my gut feeling that my big idea is good and worth pursuing.
I cannot stop eating and drinking at the moment. After losi g over a stone and a half, it is all creeping back on again. Drinking every night and have just eaten 3 biscuits after a tea of sausages, bacon, hash browns, beans and fried egg. What is wrong with me????????

Being back here is just fab! Already managed my first AF night during the week! That's been really hard, lately. Went for a run at almost 30 degrees; cooked a very delicious aubergine and zucchini stew with basmati rice; worked some and went to bed all without a glass of wine!

Yet another New IT system training this morning. Then DS will be home this afternoon, I need to intercept him before he trashes his room again .

Still got a bulge in the corner of the living room, but at least it's not dripping now

I slept really well last night, those AF advantages just keep stacking up. I have to keep reminding myself how different sobriety feels, I don't want to get complacent like last time.

D'Argh! My head hurts. Trying to assimilate a new student-facing system just three weeks before term starts - 'cause academics have nothing else to do at this time of year , and I didn't already prepare all of the information in a different system in July when I was told too .

Well I had a lovely afternoon (and one of you babes knows why and )

I have agreed to go away for a couple of days at the beginning of next week but the other people who are going are currently planning their drinking, and I'm suddenly having second thoughts about it. It looks like I'm going to be stuck in a small cottage with a group of boozy mates. And no internet.

I hope you are all fine and dandy. My feet haven't touch the floor since I've been back from hols. Work, washing, more work and more work! Having horrible dreams, last nights was in the Dominican Republic and I was right in the middle of a war zone WTF and everytime I woke up and got back to sleep it carried on exactly where it had left off, horrible! So by 5am I thought fuck this and got up. Relieved not to be living through that. No idea where all that came from.

Anyhoo - Sweet you are doing so so well, you go girl Bulges in places and James coming to the rescue I'm glad to hear that I leak has stopped. Your garden looks lovely darling x Keep on keeping on my love, you know the drill and it really does only get better. I hope DS has had a good time away

I am unbelievably tired, the training took it out of me I think, and has left me feeling decidedly thick. I am beginning to settle into being AF a little, apart from the occasional, mid-afternoon, "but I wanna glass of wine". So, I am giving up for tonight and giving my brain the sleep it wants.
