Hi, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

A place for pouring out your heart without being judged, mostly because a lot of us have been exactly where you are right now, or somewhere similar.

We've been around for a while, so there's not much that we've not seen..... or heard.... or been through ourselves.

Some of the Babes are newer to the Bus, some of the Babes have been here on dear old "Gerald" (The name this Bus was given by one of the Babes, I forget who now!I suspect IsinDe or Silver) for a little while longer!

EVERYONE is welcome here. Drinkers, those who are complete non drinkers, and those who are somewhere in the middle of all of the above. :)

Some Babes are in control of their drinking, some not so much. It's dreadfully hard some days, days when there is nothing going around your head except thinking that you MUST have a drink and you sit there trying to work out when, what time you can have that first mouthful of ice cold poison.

Whatever your goal here, or why you're here, we'll all help you along the way, YOUR WAY.

There will be one of us on here that can relate to your life story as if it were a mirror they were looking at, someone to hold your hand if you want it, catch you if you fall, which you may or may not. Positive thinking, just One Day At A Time.

No one Babe is better than any other, we've all been addicts. We've all suffered, yes some more than others but it's not a competition (and no-one gets turned away) but if you rack up shed loads of sober days, you will be a winner on the thread!!

So, if you want somewhere safe to sit and enjoy the warming summer sun, come find a seat, have a chat or just sit and listen to the rest of us yakking on!!

Hi all. Lazy day, letting the dc run wild rather than subjecting them to endless improving summer activities. As a result, am a bottle down already. Sigh. But there is a limit on this, another week and then that's me done for the autumn. Remind me of that, all of you, will you? Please?

Joey, so sorry about your holiday - on the upside, I hope it makes it more bearable to be home?! And Isinde, I've been thinking of you all day, really hope you're bearing up? Love to you. 'Home' is a funny one, isn't it. I am spending the next week with my parents and I know I will revert back to 12 year old type (mind you that might not be a bad thing as I don't think I drank (quite) this much aged 12 ).

Gosh, its hot here. I gather it is going to rain consistently all week after tomorrow, just right for my 'holiday'. Hmm.

Quiet day here. Weekends are so different now the dcs are grown up, more or less. The girls are both at work and Ds has sloped off with his mates, although I believe one is coming back here to sleep tonight. I have been shopping, made a lemon drizzle cake and some lentil soup, been to visit dad, bunged dinner in the slow cooker and am now sitting colouring my hair.
Very restful.

Hello babes. I lurk on here a lot. Some of you may remember me ( Venus, ma,banana isinde) others are new and I wish you well. 4 years ago I posted on here with the username wanttodie. And I did really really want to die. I had finally hit my rock bottom (and it went a lot further down than I had ever imagined) I stopped drinking that day and a day at a time haven't had a drink since. So today I am 4 yrs sober and came back to thank you. Without this thread I wouldn't have met the lovely Venus and bafana. I attend AA. It works for me. I am truly happy. I have a job and a new husband and a decent quiet life free of alcohol and drama and panic. I can clean my teeth without being sick. I sleep in a dry bed. I don't have the shits every day. I no longer spend a fortune on mints and eye drops. I am healthy (bit too healthy due to chocolate ) and blimey I am happy. I am joyous happy and free. I hope for the best for everyone with an addiction. It can be done. Please just don't drink for one day for oneself and repeat xxx

Happy sober birthday strawberry so lovely to see your post and to hear how well everything is going for you. If often think of you when I buy ice-cream at the famous ice-cream place.....

I am now have 2 grandchildren which is lovely and amazing (this is the perfect opportunity for you to rush in and say that someone who looks as young as I do can't possibly be a grandparent)

Hey ma. I always think of you when I'm near weegie land. Venus You cannot possibly be a Granny. You are far too young and glam. How old are the children. If anyone wants any baby stuff done I am addicted to knitting and crochet. I couldn't have done it without this thread. For me it had to be total abstinence and a weekly reminder at AA of how far I have come. Keep on keeping on everybody xxx

We've had a real lights and flashes show here tonight, lots of lightening! So exciting! Nemo of course was so utterly frightened. Bless him.

DH and I sat in a partly darkend room, showing him that the lightening and he was a little calmer after that......

I'm so shattterd though so off to bed.

Bleugh! I lost most of my sunny saturday . Not to booze you understand, but to bloody antihistamines! Sneezed and sneezed and sneezed, fell asleep, sneezed some more then went back to bed. and now my mouth feels more liked gummy sandpaper than any hangover I ever had!

Still, a rainy walk will clear the cobwebs. How is everyone else?

SmallI know that feeling of sod it, and how to get through a botle just because the sun is shining, but we also both know that lovely clear, clean feeling of not doing it. I totally get the new start for Sept - working in education it's in my DNA. We will remind you, and lots of people will be doing AF Sept - is it for cancer research I can't remember? So there will be extra support out there in RL.

Hi sweet how are you? Has the weather been okay for you in the garden today? It has been more like November here, and tomorrow I'm back at work and now summer is over

But I'm pleased that I didn't buy wine today, some progress has been made.

That is progress, Joey. I've spent the day doing housework and a couple of dog walks. I should have cut the grass, but, oh well.

I'm getting a real energy surge - she says, on her way to bed - but I'm also hearing the WW whispering about rewarding myself. Bitch!

Hi babes. Just checking back in, had a few days off due to password fiasco. Been very busy with kids on holiday, endless sporting events to get to plus new business admin etc. Feeling alternatively exhilerated and terrified. Also developed insomnia hence late night post.

Had madhouse this weekend - dd's pals sleeping over, ds's mates here, army of cousins with small children, sports events, shopping, late-birthday party for dd, big family do miles away today. And just very, very tired and with a million things to do. 7 days till officially redundant after 13.5 years in the Civil Service. Eeek!

Joey sorry your holiday was crap. Welcome back to the bus though, good to see you.

Ma take the HRT !!! If only to be a guinea pig for me, as feel I am starting with the hot flushes. Is it normal to only get them at night though?

Hope I am so excited for you and your new venture, and I hope you don't mind, but I'm also relieved that the sorry work saga is almost over. We'll all be here cheering you on to new adventures and successes (and the good stuff is often scary).

DS is off to visit his Dad today - he arranged it after cancelling earlier in the Summer, but he's not looking happy about it. I really feel for him. he idolized the twat for years and has been really let down, finally seeing him for the apathetic, lazy, self-obsessed man he always was.

Day 12, and my sleep is settling down - I got up naturally at 6.15, and the puffiness has gone from my face and waist. But there is a petulant voice in my head whining "I wanna be a normal drinker, I'll just have one"; the fact it's there at 6.30am is the big clue I will NEVER be a normal drinker

So, the order of the day is walk Pup, help DS pack, then into work for the afternoon. Have a good day everyone, make it one that you don't drink, come and post if you're having trouble. Wry, I want a picture of LB Lab and Khalisi I miss you, come and tell us you're ok .

Morning all! OH it's busy, busy here today - good friend coming to stay so I'm off to pick her up at the airport. Another friend coming Friday - Sunday. Two big events on Saturday and Sunday. And then I've committed to going away from Monday - Thursday next week. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I will spend all day Monday travelling there, and most of Thursday travelling back. Because everything has got so busy I will end up taking my laptop and trying to squeeze in a couple of bits of work..... Help!

But it's all good. Neither today's friend or the weekend visitor are big drinkers so we will chat and laugh and have a great time. And over the course of this week, I will get caught up on my work, I will get caught up on my work, I will get caught up on my work.....

Thank you for the shout out, Sweet. I did in fact have difficulties getting back in and then got frustrated and left it.
Now it worked after I finally read the bit 'with at least one number'.

Sorry I haven't caught up, everyone. I hope nothing really bad has happened to any of you phenomenal Babes.
