The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Soaking Up The Warm Sunshine, Instead Of The Warm White Wine!

Hi, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

A place for pouring out your heart without being judged, mostly because a lot of us have been exactly where you are right now, or somewhere similar.

We've been around for a while, so there's not much that we've not seen..... or heard.... or been through ourselves. Sad

Some of the Babes are newer to the Bus, some of the Babes have been here on dear old "Gerald" (The name this Bus was given by one of the Babes, I forget who now!I suspect IsinDe or Silver) for a little while longer!

EVERYONE is welcome here. Drinkers, those who are complete non drinkers, and those who are somewhere in the middle of all of the above. :)

Some Babes are in control of their drinking, some not so much. It's dreadfully hard some days, days when there is nothing going around your head except thinking that you MUST have a drink and you sit there trying to work out when, what time you can have that first mouthful of ice cold poison.

Whatever your goal here, or why you're here, we'll all help you along the way, YOUR WAY.

There will be one of us on here that can relate to your life story as if it were a mirror they were looking at, someone to hold your hand if you want it, catch you if you fall, which you may or may not. Positive thinking, just One Day At A Time.

No one Babe is better than any other, we've all been addicts. We've all suffered, yes some more than others but it's not a competition (and no-one gets turned away) but if you rack up shed loads of sober days, you will be a winner on the thread!! Grin

So, if you want somewhere safe to sit and enjoy the warming summer sun, come find a seat, have a chat or just sit and listen to the rest of us yakking on!! Grin

Nice to meet you :) all.

Also, here is the latest thread -

THE LATEST THREAD WE'VE SHARED OUR STORIES AND EXPERIENCES ON

And this is the very first thread -

AND THIS THREAD, THIS THREAD IS EXTREMELY SPECIAL BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE THE JOURNEY STARTED, AND HAS SINCE EVOLVED OVER THE LAST SIX YEARS

Hope to chat soon, Mousey x

Morning All,

Just for you Spanna, hope you got some sleep. I'm sure DD1's results will be great; I do wish we didn't put such pressure on them.

DH and I are off up along the coast this morning to have lunch with DSS and his GF, and since I am driving, I got to choose a vegetarian tapas bar Grin, can't wait. (How often have I had to have a salad in a steak house before now, Hmm?)

X posted. Ma, you've gotta love that pain, it's doing wonders for your shapely pins Grin

dementedma · 20/08/2015 08:28

sweet great pic. Too cute. I just tried to go down the stairs to hang the washing out and nearly didn't make it! How am I going to get through the day???????

SweetLathyrus · 20/08/2015 08:32

Downstairs is much harder than up in my experience, Ma. Are there no military chaps to give them a good firm rub for you today? Grin

dementedma · 20/08/2015 08:46

I wish, sweet, I wish.....
No soldier ogling today, just ordinary work unfortunately.

spanna41 · 20/08/2015 09:24

Sweet such a lovely photo soooooo cute Smile

Ma I feel for you babe x

Picking brains time - a while ago I went on about a cleaning/de-clutter household website, I think it's written by a bloke and has a swear word in the title. I've just been through all my history and can't find the bugger. Does anyone recall? God my brain is shot to shit can't remember a fricking thing these day Blush Can anyone re-call?

Right getting off and out to get these results. Sweet it is aweful how much pressure is put on our bambinos I've been quite laid back about it all and keep re-assuring her that I will be proud of her whatever the results Smile

See y'all later x

Guggs you popped into my mind yesterday - how you doing?

SmallFox · 20/08/2015 10:23

Grr, am at work and can't see pup pic on my phone.

Spanna just to say all good wishes to DD. The pressure is horrid. It will give her great comfort to know her mum is there for her come what may - and I'm sure she'll do brilliantly anyway.

spanna41 · 20/08/2015 19:06

I'm a proud lioness, DD got 7 GCSEs, she got a D in Maths (working at a U last Sept) she'll redo next year alongside A levels Smile College enrollment tomorrow. So very pleased for her Grin

Tis very quiet on here today how is everyone?

SweetLathyrus · 20/08/2015 19:29

Well done to DD, Spanna, that kind of improvement shows real determination. What does she want to do for A levels?

Just back from a lovely afternoon in Brighton, DSS's girlfriend is lovely (first time I've met her), but then, so is he. Decided to stay in the pub instead of going to the veggie restaurant, because we all liked the look of their Indian Street food menu; lime and soda is an ok drink, and I'm really glad to get home with a clear head.

dementedma · 20/08/2015 19:30

Well done to DD spanna

spanna41 · 20/08/2015 19:49

Hi Sweet she's applied to do English Lit & Lang, Sociology and Religious Education. She's keen to do Philosophy (she got an A) and maybe drop R.E. Her call, she says she'll start with her original choices & see how she goes.
Your day sounds lovely it is so nice when we like our DC choices in partners Smile Lime & soda is indeed a nice drink. I can't get over how your pup has grown. Looks like puss and pup are good friends. I have no doubt that puss has the upper hand Grin

Thanks Ma, how's your bod?

SweetLathyrus · 20/08/2015 20:15

That's a great combination, Spanna, well regarded by universities ,if that's what she wants.

Puss is very much the boss, she commandeers Pup's crate during the day, and sprawls provocatively in front of him!

How was your day, Ma?

Anyone else around? Looks like we have our choice of seats tonight Grin

dementedma · 20/08/2015 20:34

My body is in agony - at least my thighs are. I think I have done myself a mischief. Had a good, if very busy day.
Doctor has given me Prempak C as my first ever HRT but I am still looking at them and not taking them....not sure what is holding me back...

SweetLathyrus · 20/08/2015 20:47

I don't know enough about HRT to offer any advice, but the Dr thinks it's what you need.

SweetLathyrus · 20/08/2015 22:13

Masochist, Isinde Grin

Night all.

venusandmars · 20/08/2015 22:35

isindie when I stopped drinking caffeine I had the MOST AWFUL headache for days. Now I find that more than 1 cup of coffee makes me really jittery.

spanna well done your dd

sweet I love lime and soda - specially when it is made with fresh squeezed lime - no chance of getting scurvy in this house Smile

venusandmars · 20/08/2015 22:38

I was unable to post all day - I had changed my password to something full of random numbers and capital letters and symbols. Couldn't remember the bloody thing and had to make a new one - again.

Morning All.

Grin at 'hove-sickness', Isinde, the place has such a fun vibe, DH was the same - but I dragged him back here to Stepford!

I totally get what you said about 'not getting hangovers', I 'didn't' either. such a revalation when you discover you've been hung over for years, and it's become normal Blush, Keep hold of those good feelings, and break the curse of day three.

Feeling a bit groggy this morning after a bad night - I think I had better give the Becks Blue a miss for a while, I'm sure it upsets my stomach Sad. But at least I know I will perk up after a coffee or two (sorry, Isinde), and I have the hairdresser to look forward to this afternoon. Toying with having the curls cut off, but will probably chicken out. I am going to go full on blonde though.

So, have a good day, make this a day you don't drink, you WILL feel better tomorrow, well, you definitely won't feel worse.

SweetLathyrus · 21/08/2015 09:54

I have a confession, today is not day eight for me . . . it is day NINE!!! I think the WW stole the bit of my brain that can count to ten Grin

textilehermit · 21/08/2015 11:59

woop woop sweet on day NINE! Grin
hi Isinde i've totally gotten used to feeling shite often too, grog overload every morning and body feels like a pile of rocks when i'm hungover... so day 3 must feel so good!!
venus i'd love to go caffeine free too, i've managed to do it before but i just LOVE LOVE LOVE a cappucinno in the morning - when i've conquered the vino that's next on the hitlist....
so i only managed one AF day so far this week - but the last 2 evenings i did stick to 2 glasses (an improvement on my usual bottle a night) so i am happy with that and trying not to see it as a failure...
tonight i have a driving lesson from 7-9pm soooo embarrassing not being able to drive at my age Blush and as i obvs won't be able to drink before and won't be home til 9 i think tonight will be a good opp for my 2nd AF day this week!
