How long did it take you to get married after being in a relationship?

Just wandering how long have you been in the relationship before marriage.

A year
28 years later we are still together

5.5 years. We were quite young when we got together (students).

Did you live together during that first year?

We were married a year after we met too. We lived together for four months before we married.

Moved in together after 3 months, engaged after 2 years, married after 3. Been married 3 years now.

2 years (lived together for 1) I was only 25 and we are still together.
Why do you ask?

DH and I had been best mates for about 5-6 years before we became a couple. We lived together straight away and married 3.5 years after that.

We've been living together for nearly 22 years.

Exactly one year to the day

PS: That was almost 25 years ago!

13 years ( we didnt want to rush into it blindly!!)

You live together and then get married?

Moved in after 9 months, together for 3 years before we got married

lived together for about 7 years before getting married. married for 15 years now

Moved in together after 2 years, engaged 4 months later, married 15 months after that. Been married nearly 2 years.

Met at 21. Moved in together at 22. Bought a house together at 23. Married at 28.

Marriage and beginning of relationship occurred on the same day.

I'm in crossroads with my belief system...

We lived together for 2 years before getting married, but I know a few couples who didn't move in together until after their wedding.

We were togther 18 years before we got married 5 years ago.

I think most people these days live together 1st. I still lived with my parents so moved into his flat, we didn't actually buy a house together until a year after we were married.

Met when I was 18, moved in 6 months later, engaged at 19 married at 20. We have just celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary.

I got married to XH after nearly 5 years. Met at university and didn't live together until we got married.

Have been with DP 3 years - we've recently moved in together and we're planning to get married next year.

Do you want to tell us more inexperiencedchick? I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that it matters not one bit what others do and what is considered "normal".
