Hey, I'm Mouse Smile

This is 'Gerald', our trustworthy, non judgemental Bus, full of a variety of posters who have travelled long and far, or even just joined us a few stops ago.

This is a place where you can be who YOU want to be. 24/7, 365. This lovely place is just like your best friend, there's no slagging off, no judging, just us. Smile

Drinking or not, embarrassed, fed up of the way things are, or just lonely of living the way drinking makes you do, come and take a peek and see what you think.....

THIS THE LAST THREAD WE HAD

AND THIS IS WHERE THE BUS WAS BUILT, WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

We can't wait to meet you, we won't bite! Well, unless you ask very nicely. Wink

Take good care until we see you. :) xx

Good morning All.

A very busy bus at the moment. Welcome new Babes, Boswellox, my excuses were the same as Venus, but I can add "I need to renew the car insurance on line, so I need a drink first". It's lovely once you get a few weeks under your belt (day three here), but just one morning, or afternoon is an achievement.

Spanna, Stick to the line that you are making sure her way goes well, I don't think it is ever possible to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it, just how difficult 'one glass' is. Enjoy the book, I'm embracing that sort of high life at the moment, because it's time just for me.

Hope, getting Pup is one of the best things I have ever done, but I could only do it because apart from my depression, life was very calm. I don't think I sat down for the first three weeks, I certainly couldn't have read a book. When the time is right you'll be able to get a dog, until then, Pup sends virtual wiggles and tail wags, you can't help but smile, every day is Christmas day to a cocker spaniel!

I'm back to work part time for the moment - phased return, very gentle, and it means I have the afternoons still to recharge and yesterday, to paint more of the fence. Have a lovely day everyone.

Petridish · 16/06/2015 08:40

Day one successfully completed. First AF day for months...

Khalisi · 16/06/2015 09:43

Well done, Petri! That was not easy. I'll join you for today!

Good morning, Babes!

I'll be back later.

PopcornNuts · 16/06/2015 10:54

Day 1 done (again). Have been asked for a beer tonight, really need my brain to not switch to 'sod it' this afternoon.

Hope you're all ok today, sorry about the short posts, I'll get there! Well done Petri on day one conquered.

babyjane1 · 16/06/2015 11:57

Hi babes, I have been reading avidly and I'm so proud of all of you, to the newbies for sounding so fierce, determined and strong and all you wonderful babes providing lovely kind words and support.

The main reason I haven't posted is because I want to NC everyone and this will take ages so I keep thinking "I'll sit down later and write a message for everyone" but the sit down later never comes. I promise I will be back later with lots of proud hugs but for now, just wanted to say how privileged I feel to share in your back stories and to see your strength shining through.

LOVE THIS MAGICAL BUS xxx

obrigada · 16/06/2015 12:19

Once again Baby you have written exactly what I want to say but can never put properly into words Smile. I too want to name check and write a message for everyone but never seem to find the time.

Waves to all babes xx

lookingforhope · 16/06/2015 13:18

Off topic but just wanted to post this for Small www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3PJWWFfMqT9xpSJMNJJTHSF/what-to-do-if-you-meet-a-clanger

lookingforhope · 16/06/2015 13:19

Happy to hear you're surviving.

SmallFox · 16/06/2015 18:56

Hope thank you so much. The Clangers are never off topic! Watched it with the DC yesterday - they're a tad old for it and kept looking at me with undisguised bafflement at my nostalgia, but broadly humoured me. I like Small Clanger, unsurprisingly!

Hope you're all doing well - new babes sound really brave and determined, well done. Waves to all.

SmallFox · 16/06/2015 18:57

PS - Popcorn, you are brave to go out for a beer (or equivalent) on day 2: good luck, be nice to yourself and try to stay out of harm's way Smile. Take care and if you need to leave, just do so.

spanna41 · 16/06/2015 19:01

Waves at everyone too Grin

Pet super well done on nailing that first day Flowers

love to you all, got to go back into work for about an hour at 8 Hmm I've got to take mug shots of our night staff for this 'staff board' that I seem to have been conned into doing!!!!! No rest for the sober wicked here xxx

SmallFox · 16/06/2015 19:09

Boo hiss having to go back to work, Spanna. Love the idea of the sober wicked, though - am going to give that one some thought Smile. Hope you're ok, babe xx

spanna41 · 16/06/2015 19:35

Fox it's all a bit 'real' at the moment. No hazy edges and no fog Shock I feel a bit like a rabbit in the headlights. No pun intended Isinde Grin Sober is good but it does carry an edge to it. Well it does for me at the moment Smile ODAAT. Anyhooo must get going! Hope some of that makes sense x

SmallFox · 16/06/2015 20:20

Totally get that, Spanna. The novelty of sobriety does wear off and the reality can be a bit jarring sometimes. But still good. Just takes acclimatising to and when it gets a bit jittery, try to remember how much worse it would all be with a paranoid, shaky hangover. Hang in there lovely one.

venusandmars · 16/06/2015 21:32

That rabbit had it's hands over it's eyes in terror. Didn't it isindie

fox agree with you about the jittery, shaky, paranoid hangover. I remember being out with a colleague and a dog (a small cute fluffy dog) walked passed me and sneezed. I jumped about 4 feet into the air as though a wild wolf was about to attack me. My colleague was a bit Confused

HandsThatDoDishes · 16/06/2015 22:14

Evening ladies Smile. Day 16 today. Have had a very busy evening and didn't even think about drinking which made a nice change. (I'm not kidding myself that the cravings have disappeared for good though).

Like baby and obrigada I once again haven't got time to name check sorry Blush. Im exhausted and need to go to bed. Will try and find time tomorrow. Sending love and hugs to everybody xx

Pony74 · 16/06/2015 22:50

Hi everyone, please may I join your club? I'm reading the Easyway book by Alan Carr and hope to be dry by Saturday. Could use a friend or 2

SweetLathyrus · 17/06/2015 06:59

Morning All.

Baby, Small, Hope, Hands, Isinde Good to see you all. Well done to Pet and Pop, well done, it will be worth it. Spanna, you are brilliant, that's how you 'got conned', it's all that energy and 'boing' you are exuding Grin.

Pony, everyone is welcome on the bus, sorry there was no one around last night, tell us something about yourself when you feel ready, and post as often as you want and need, this is the friendliest most supportive place on MN.

Right, time to rouse DS from his pit, have a good AF day Babes.

(Clangers are awesome)

spanna41 · 17/06/2015 07:37

Good Morning Lovely Babes Smile

I've been awake since 4am WTF - already feel like I need to go back to bed. Anyhoo I have hung up washing that's been sitting in the machine for 2 days and miraculously it smells ok Shock must be that Fairy Smile

Sweet you make me laugh Grin so good to have you back. Yep clangers rock!!! on the same par as trumptons & camberwick green or are they the same thing Hmm Good to hear that you're easing yourself back to work gently, sensible. I hope you're not feeling as fragile and dark. You've got us scallywags (I speak for myself when I say this) to keep you going babe.

Welcome Pony you're in the right place for support. x

Day off for me today - Woooop Wooooop and it's SUNNY, makes a flipping change Smile As usual I've got a list as long as my arm, how much of it gets done, who knows, but I am determined to have a positive day.

Fox a better word instead of 'real' is 'raw' - it's like I'm an onion and gradually I'm peeling layer after layer and there's no hiding behind the vino clapso anymore and it's fucking scary sometimes! You are keeping me going more than you think lovely one. I thank you so much for that x

Hands flipping awesome Babe Flowers Keep going, you can do this Smile

April where are you babe? are you ok?

Beaches hugs my friend. Please come back soon sugar Smile

Quick wave and hello to Joey, Guggs, Isinde, Ma, Mouse, Rural, Orbrigada, Khalisi, Ruby, Soc, Venus, Nuff, Hope, Baby, Wry, Lobster, Pet, Beo and all other Babes (just done that from memory, sorry if I missed any of you lovelies)

Day 79 for me today Smile

SweetLathyrus · 17/06/2015 08:38

A sunny day off, Spanna (whoop, whoop), make time for a walk by the sea. Trumpton, Camberwick Green, and Chigley were separate, but interconnected, programmes collectively know as the Trumptonshire Trilogy.

Day 79 is bloody briliant.

SweetLathyrus · 17/06/2015 08:43

Off to walk the pup, then some emails, and more (hopefully the last) fence painting, and I will finally have a coordinated, dark brown boundary, instead of three shades of orange, red and silver! And as a bonus, I definitely can't drink while I'm up a ladder with a paint brush in my hand.

Khalisi · 17/06/2015 09:29

Wow, spanna! My jaw dropped. Literally!!!

DAY SEVENTY-NINE, babes! That is absolutely, fantastically, beautifully, brilliant! WOW!
(I'm too superstitious to give you flowers today! You'll have to wait for tomorrow, my darling!) Wink

Welcome, Pony! Sorry you had a quiet and lonely first ride! We are here, even if not posting this bus is a huge part of my life. Please don't feel neglected and tell us a bit about yourself when you're ready.

What's the story with the rabbit, Isinde?!

Have a beautiful day, my darling Babes!
