DP said something strange last night

BACKGROUND: Ex and I were together for about a year and a half. No children together. About 8 weeks ago we broke up because I felt he was really untidy in himself and his home and I felt unloved as he never showed me any affectionI don't know if he was having an affair or not but I really don't think he was. We broke up on friendly terms but he begged and begged me not to leave him but I thought it was for the best. We lost contact until 2 weeks ago when I was worried I hadn't heard from him (he has attempted suicide in his past) so popped around and he was fine, just lost my number as he lost his phone. He begged for us to get back together and we did.

PROBLEM: Last night I was over at his and we were just watching TV quietly when he suddenly announced 'I asked a girl out but she turned me down'. I asked him if he asked her out before he and I got back in touch and he said he did but WTF did he just feel the need to announce that? I DONT WANT to know who he asked out.

i've got to go now...please all just be nice to her because i'm sure she'll still be looking at this thread. She's been through alot more with this man than you guys know but it isnt my place to say whats happened. She asked if she should dump him, i think highlighting the facts why she should is surely a good thing. Nobody has personally attacked her and i'm not taking responsibility for someone crying in London. It's insane, again, i think the over sensitivity might be more related to desperately wanting it to work because she doesn't want to be alone. Not a group of "bitches" on here.
