Hello, I'm Mouse Xmas Smile

Welcome to the Bus, he's called Gerald.... he takes us up and down and this wondrous land, searching high and low for Babes in need of some support, a warm place to sit and chat, and to have someone to listen to them.

So, grab a seat as we swing by your way. There's lots of hot drinks, food and fleeces, places to just be and places to sit around and chat if that's what you want.

We don't judge, because we've all be in your shoes, be they stilettos, wellies or crocs!...

We're just us, we're just honest and we just do what we can to help, if we can, when we can. Let's try and have a Merry Christmas without getting off our faces this year. Xmas Smile

Here is the very first, emotional thread if you would like to see where this all started

And the last thread if you want to keep up!

Work going ok today, Sweet it's busy after being off for over 2 weeks, plus it's end of year accounts. Really hope I sleep tonight.

Well done on resisting the Sancerre Smile

Day 6, going to have to knuckle down tonight. H has bought a bottle of wine as I don't have work tomorrow.... I've had a box of wine in the fridge since Xmas day but it's not tempting me. I think it's because I know if I open it I will be drinking it every night. Planning an early night reading in bed, again. On a brighter note all the ironing is done!

lookingforhope · 06/01/2015 17:53

Joey I just filled out the profile and put in when I wanted to do it and pressed create plan and it scheduled a load of meditations in with reminders. Though I didn't do it when things got really bad just before Christmas then the app froze. Have just uninstalled and reinstated ready to start again this week with mindfulness meditations

venusandmars · 06/01/2015 18:03

annie why is the box in the fridge? Seriously, put it somewhere out of sight, put it in the airing cupboard so it goes all warm and mushy tasting. IN the face of such temptation I'd have given in - you must a better woman than I.

If you don't have to work tomorrow that is an EVEN BETTER reason to remain alcohol free tonight, so you can make the most of tomorrow.

venusandmars · 06/01/2015 18:04

alias have you be stocking oh I mean STALKING our lovely ma ?? Grin

Anneisnotmyname · 06/01/2015 18:24

It's weird Venus but because it's a box and not a bottle it just seems like too much of a faff on to open for one glass, and the sheer quantity of it puts me off. That's a good thing I hope.

venusandmars · 06/01/2015 19:04

That is good Annie. Have a lovely evening, and a great day off tomorrow.

SweetLathyrus · 06/01/2015 19:30

Annie, I have three baskets full of ironing here if you want something to keep you occupied Wink.

Past my personal witching hour and feeling very tired, and a bit flat, but pleased to have made it. I can definitely feel that I am less bloated, though I don't know if I have lost any weight - will get DH to reconnect the Wii at the weekend.

SweetLathyrus · 06/01/2015 19:32

Starting to feel that I don't constantly need a drink in my hand too!

SweetLathyrus · 06/01/2015 19:35

Oh and meant to say, our glass recycling is collected tomorrow - it's full, and we won't mention the three large shopping bags full that went to the bottle bank yesterday - so I look forward to putting out February's with only food jars and maybe a few cider bottles for DH!

dementedma · 06/01/2015 20:03

joey ....and I have an important meeting next Friday Grin
Was a bit wobbly but then heard some bad news from a friend about her health and it gave me the kick I needed. So have signed up for a Pilates class next week and have nearly done day 6! Day SIX!!!!! Shock

aliasjoey · 06/01/2015 20:56

venus no, I was not stalking! But you know how you can be reading a different thread and a Babes' name just pops out at you? And it's weird because you realise people actually step off the Bus occasionally?! Grin

ma 6 days is fantastic! You're soon going to really start seeing the effects! Friday's meeting - is that one of your 'important' stocking meetings?

SoberSocFish · 06/01/2015 21:02

ma day 6 is incredible. Xx

SweetLathyrus · 06/01/2015 21:33

Who's got the pom-poms for everyone who has made it through day six, or more, or day one, or for trying again tomorrow?

Give 'em a shake!

venusandmars · 07/01/2015 00:00

alias I was making a joke - about stalking and stocking - ha ha maybe it only works in a Scottish accent Grin

beachestoexplore · 07/01/2015 00:39

Day 6 nearly done here. Have been feeling rotten for the last few days, carb flu I think and I am hoping for a better day tomorrow. It is -12c here and colder than...well, whatever is that cold.

I know there was a camel on the bus because I have one in my pictures, I can't remember now how or why but he was connected somewhere. Whispers

obrigada · 07/01/2015 06:25

Morning babes. Day 7 here and thankfully last nights sleep was restful. Am awake early but got my 8 hours.

Today I will not be drinking - decision made:)

SweetLathyrus · 07/01/2015 06:52

Morning All.

Glad you got some good sleep, Obrigada, I'm struggling to surface this morning after some horrid anxiety dreams - out of control driving etc. It's really unusual for me to remember dreams quite so vividly.

So, day seven, that means that by the end on the day those of us who started on the 1st will have a whole week under our belts. Feels significant.

My parents are sailing home this afternoon. We've loved having them, showing them the new house and area, but I'm looking forward to the quiet - for a bit until they come back in two weeks. I am also painfully aware that I need to cherish them while they are here.

Today I will not be drinking and I will have lots of lovely babes for company Smile

DespicableMeh · 07/01/2015 07:24

Morning all,

Relatively good sleep here - hope yours improves soon sweet.

Beginning of day 3 here. Tonight might be the killer, Weds evenings are usually decompression with some vodka after spending all day in a specific work location. The fact that it'll be around 12 hours spent commuting and actually being there makes it worse and I think my knobhead boss might try and sneak my annual review in today too (had it scheduled for before Xmas but was off with a chest infection).

Better get off and sort the offspring, sounds like they've settled into tv watching - perfect time for hairbrushing, plaits and ponytails mwah ha ha ha!

Hope you all have a good day.

SweetLathyrus · 07/01/2015 07:54

Morning Meh, It's good to identify danger points in advance, that way you can start visualising the alternative - build up the picture of your favourite soft drink, in a lovely extra special glass; candles, a long soak; put new pictures in the place of old habits. Hope it goes well . . . can you brush and plait my hair while your in the zone, it's the only thing I think I missed out on having just a DS!

dementedma · 07/01/2015 08:00

Morning all
Day 7!
Day 3 is always tricky meh. You can do it.
Layers babes

Thinking about needing some new teas - has anyone tried any of the Tea Pigs range? Are they three times as good as Twinings (since they are three times the price)?
