I have posted this brief study I carried out before, can't remember which thread.
I am in my early 50s and signed up, for a brief while to GSM.
At a loose end, one evening, I went through the 350 or so 'matches' the site had found for me.
These were men between 50 and 59
Without looking at the photographs, I eliminated all the men who had selected 40 or under as the 'essential' (this is what really got me) age for women they wanted to meet.
Again without looking at the pictures, I eliminated all those possibly wanting children. Obviously looking for women in their thirties, whatever they said about age.
By this time, I was down to low double figures.
So notnew, this is a lot more than 'some men'
And this was not men 'window shopping'; they had written this before starting their search.
If you consider window shopping, an article published recently about the age of women men actually click on and try to contact, we get an even greater age gap - men in their 50s looking for women in their twenties.
Women might well consider height and looks in their search, but they do not, as a rule, set out to look for someone 20 years younger.
No, Rebecca, I will not change who I am looking for because I do not want a man looking for a much younger women however old they are - so I would eliminate a man in his 60s looking exclusively for a woman of 50 although I might 'suit' him because he is as much a dickhead an idiot as younger men looking for even younger women.
