So I've found Knickers but there his old swimming trunks?! Confused.

So confused today I noticed my DH filthy work fleece so popped it in the wash like a good little wife. When the washing machine had finished I pulled it out and discovered a pair of red woman's knickers.
On closer inspection they are from H&M and swimwear.

I text DH asking if he had anything to tell me. He was confused so I sent him a photo of the knickers.

His reply
Found what where?
'I have no idea what's in or on my fleece cos it's been in the van for months in shit. Don't imagine it's got women's knickers or lipstick in it, certainly don't think it smells of perfume, and there's no way there's a receipt for a whorehouse or condoms in there, so don't know what you've found'

After I sent the photo he replied:

'Can't see the picture good, but if they've got a little metal badge on the back that says HOM they were a pair of trunks I've had for years. No idea how they got there cos they were in the boxes in the dining room.'

Now they are swim wear but most certainly woman's and I've never know him to wear swimming trunks ever!
He seems genuinely surprised and not at all worried that he might have been caught out about something.

I just want the truth. Our marriage has been through a lot over the last year I lost our DC in pregancy and can't seem to get pregant again.
I could understand an indiscretion but I need him to be honest.
On the other hand I have no reason to suspect anything but I feel naive for believing him.

I need some advice am I being OTT? Unfair?

He now busy with work so I have to wait till tonight to speak to him.

Forgot to add he uses a Van for his business and shares it with another guy. This guy was in the van while I was texting DH.
Not sure if that makes a difference but surely if you'd had a woman in the van you would speak up this guy knows what we have been through this year surely he would has some compassion not to load us with anything more.

It's too late now but never ask this kind of question by text. Always do it face to face. Characters on a screen can say anything. Body-language is far harder to fake.

That sounds more like a funny situation rather than a cheating story. If he is genuinely surprised and not confused explaining himself I wouldn?t worry about it :) Especially if the fees has been in the van for ages and somebody else was using the van :)

I think you should try and forget about it until he comes back to explain. Your relationship is obviously under lots of stress and I can understand why you are thinking the way you are but there is no point in tying yourself in knots. Could they be confused for trunks? What size are they in comparison to your DH. I'm throwing these questions in but really I think your need to wait and see what he says.

Jump: they are definitely woman's bikini bottoms a size 14.
He's now 100% certain they are his trunks from19 years ago when he was a lot fitter than now going to the gym a lot.

Cognito I know I'm really regretting that too. I honestly thought he would come up with an innocent explanation straight away. But he delayed by about 15 mins ad it made me wonder of he was trying to figure out a story.

Eglute see that's what I'm leaning too but then how on earth did old swim trunks (or knicker) get from a box in our Dinning room ( there are loads still unpacked) to being inside his coat at the front door.

Why would he have another woman's bikini bottoms in his van though? If he was having an affair, I really doubt they'd spend their time at the local pool. Is he a Speedo man? Is it even remotely possible that he may have bought them by mistake thinking they were for men?

Was H&M about 19 years ago?

Itcouldbeworse: he is a very honest person. If he's not at work he's at home. I've never been suspicious before he's never gave me any reason and I'm not the jealous type.

They only odd thing is last night he went out straight from work and didn't get back till well past 10pm. He did have a reasonable excuss of going to a hobby group, but it's the first time he's been in 7 months and it came out of the blue got a text mid afternoon to expect him home late.

Sorry it was a type it was 10 years. He did say they were very embarrassing camp pants but hey he was a lot fitter back in the day.
He did mention they should be a bit worn looking and they are so that's one point in his favour.

We haven't done any swimming lately but around 5 years ago we did regularly and I've never once seen him wear speedos. He doesn't even wear Y fronts!

My dh had a pair of jeans I bought him from H&M, they are sized the usual 'men's' way eg 34 32, printed on the inside of the waistband. I was putting them away the other day and noticed on the label it says size 14.
So maybe they could be men's trunks.

Make him put them on, then post a pic on your profile and we'll all give our opinions on the likelihood that he's ever worn them out in public .

IT: my gut is saying while there is no logical explanation for the pants I honestly don't think he's cheating.

But I know of anyone else was typing this I would be shaking my head at them thinking they were deluding themselves.

Vanit: possible he's single now after the breakdown of a long marriage. But surely he would fess up? DH has text to say he and that gay are off out for lunch so maybe he will say something.

So.. if he is having an affair, the woman he's with spends the time they could be having torrid sex doing lengths in a pool, and she doesn't even buy a new bikini to impress the man she's dtd with? Also - and no offence intended to anyone, honestly - I don't know many size 14 women's who'd go swimming in a bikini rather than a swimming costume. His explanation is a bit weird, but the idea of an affair sounds even weirder.

Sorry he and the GUY are off for lunch. Affair or not I doubt my DH is gay even if he does prefer to wear woman's knicker to the pool.

whitebird thank you for the laugh. Not sure if he'd fit in them now he's lost his abs and gained a much bigger waist line.

But is there a logical way his trunks in a box could end up I a fleece pocket? If he didn't put them there and you didn't then they are not those trunks. Do you have DC who could've done it?

I'd be waiting until he got home and very simply going through those facts. Don't argue with him just state them simply and then sit quiet and see what happens.

Is there a product code on the label? Phone H&M customer services and see how old they are!
