The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Off On A Journey Far & Wide, Full Of Support, With No Reasons To Hide.

Hey, I'm Mouse, one of the Brave Babes on this Bus. :)

We're heading to sobriety, in various different ways, in our own different ways, some of us are there, some not quite yet.

We're a group of non judgemental, mothers, wives, partners, sisters, daughters, girlfriends, and of course all of the male equivalents that run alongside those 'tags', but most of all, we are, or we have been, just like YOU. :) Real people with real concerns about how much we are drinking all of the time.

Our relationships with alcohol are varied, and you'll find most of us are wanting to do something about it..... desperate to stop the cycle of drinking, stopping, drinking, stopping, drinking more, stopping for shorter periods of time and then the reverse, doing ever so well and then 'something' happens and you're back to square one, a place that sometimes gets a little crowded, one little square filled with lots of people who all want out.

Sound familiar?

You're never alone here. Ever.

Come and take a seat, post or lurk. We won't bite but we WILL look after you, SUPPORT you, if you want us to. :)

And for those want to know how we've ended up where we are today, about three years on from THIS THREAD RIGHT HERE

To our last thread JUST HERE

It will be lovely to meet you so why not take a seat and have a gossip about all things booze related but also, DCs, husbands, wives, in-laws, out-laws, and everything in between.

There's always a seat for YOU xxx

aww fluffy just stick to water or lucozade for now- it will get better.
If you drink then you'll have to go through this all over again Shock

muskrat i'm not calling you pervy till I know you better!
Wise to avoid the pub unless you choose to drink.

lonnika · 24/07/2013 19:43

Ahh thanks everyone - I am not amazing just so scared that I will kill myself if I carry on drinking - a good incentive to stop :)

Fluffyflora · 24/07/2013 20:14

greeneyed · 24/07/2013 21:31

Some inspiration for the new babes because I love it so much and it makes me happy :)

And if you want to get some really good and balanced info on the affect your level of drinking is having on your insides, have a look at this website and do the drinkulator quiz - this has definately made me think and is keeping me motivated

Well done and love and luck to all (sorry for banging on to all who've seen these before!

ThisIsMyTime · 24/07/2013 21:35

Thanks green will check those links out I could settle with vodka vulture/vampire x

Fluffyflora · 24/07/2013 21:43

Vulture sounds evil enough to me!

PervyMuskrat · 24/07/2013 21:51

Thanks for the links. I don't know if I'll ever be fit enough to do a 4 mile run (or even have the inclination!) - I'm impressed!

I've sent DH to the pub in my place and have explained that I'm going to lay off alcohol for a while so I know I'll have some real life support too. We've been talking about things to do in an evening/weekend that don't involve alcohol. My suggestion of yet another games console didn't go down that well Wink

Fluffyflora · 24/07/2013 21:54

I did Edinburgh marathon in May - I do run regularly....but slowly, maybe giving up the demon drink will supercharge me!

ThisIsMyTime · 24/07/2013 21:57

Morning peeps day 4 here quite bad night sweats last night any one else had these on 3rd night? X

greeneyed · 25/07/2013 08:17

babes you are healing. Your body is getting used to living without this toxic substance. You have been depressing your nervous system it responds by being overactive. Now you have taken the depressant away it takes a few days for it to switch back from overactive mode. Hang on in there, see the hangover through to the end and you will feel better. You've done so well to get this far, keep going xx
