The version with seven tests is often referred to by medical professionals in USA as the "CHEM-7", or "SMA-7" (Sequential Multiple Analysis-7).[1] Because it is such a common test, this term is commonly sprinkled into the scripts of popular American TV medical dramas, increasing public exposure to the term.

The seven parts of a CHEM-7 are tests for:
Four electrolytes: sodium (Na+) [2]
potassium (K+) [3]
chloride (Cl−) [4]
bicarbonate (HCO3−) or CO2 [5]

blood urea nitrogen (BUN) [6]
creatinine [7]
glucose [8]

I did not just Wikipedia that Grin

So that sounds the same as LFTs & Us & Es doesn't it Cafe?!

DD2 has a friend for a sleepover. Every time I tried to get to sleep lady night they were pissing about. The finale was her friend choking on a sweet & vomiting all over the landing at midnight AngryAngryAngry

They woke up at 6am. AngryAngryAngry

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 15/06/2013 07:35

themidwife, you are too soft on that girl; it should be no sweets, no sleepovers, no laughing, no talking, no playing, actually no friends.

That'll sort it Grin

Recovering from sleepover in Hilly (non Cafecito) Cafe by local food fayre - might have to buy some homemade cakes to make it all bearable. Yawn!!

jynier · 16/06/2013 02:40

I responded to Dad's original post "Why are people up at this hour?" My answer was "grief."

Have had so much help since then and, also, lots of laughs! Thanks, guys! Loved our virtual party ... ! Am very humbled by those of you who have had and are still going through awful health situations and family crises.

Am posting now because I was listening to Sonali Dereniyagala talking about the loss of her children, husband and parents in the Tsunami in 2004. Poor woman! She said that she wished that she had died, too! (Completely understand her reasoning.)

Heard extracts from her book "Wave," and she is absolutely spot on about grief and love.

MrsShrek3 · 16/06/2013 08:06
