The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Wondering Where The Spring For Their Boing Is!

Mouseface · 24/03/2013 12:23

Hi I'm Mouse

One of the Brave Babes on the Bus, a Bus full of different posters, some who drink more than they'd like to and are trying to stop, some who don't drink at all now, and some who are somewhere in the middle. :)

There's no judging here, no finger pointing, no rejection, just pure, unconditional, (occasionally tough), love and empathy.

We all share stories of how we got here, to have our seat on the Bus, looking for our own personal sobriety, our own personal happiness. Sometimes we talk about other things too, you know, like cake, cheese Wink and even day to day life, life that can lead us to breaking point......... lead us to hit rock bottom.

So, why not come say hi, take a seat, post, lurk, whatever suits you :)

This is our latest journey with a link to others

And this is the reason we're ALL here, the first ever thread

Hope to see you soon :)

Ha, it would have to be a bloody long lassoo, I'm all the way down on the south coast practically.

Glad you had fun though and good to know you're not a load of hairy truckers having us on Grin

Or, are you? Hmm

dementedma · 10/04/2013 23:17

Had a blast with the gals. Probably the only situation where you can ask someone " so, have you met Jesus?" and no-one turns a hair.
No alcohol consumed but even so, Venus nearly drove into a fence and indie ran over a rabbit! Bunny murderer!

dementedma · 10/04/2013 23:19

indie has loads of tattoos and says mrmouse is lush so I don't even think she's a friend of Dorothy!
Keep away from her!

Fairenuff · 10/04/2013 23:22

* NEWSFLASH* **
A very lovely, slightly hippy woman (51) has gone missing in Scotland. Her dp told reporters that she had gone out to meet two 'friends' last night and had not been seen since. When questioned, Mr Marsandvenus said that his wife had arranged to meet an unknown woman in an out-of-the-way car park at about 5.30pm yesterday evening; they were then travelling to meet another 'friend' in a luxury hotel near Glasgow. [police say that the mention of a "luxury" hotel near Glasgow should have been enough to alert the victim to the fallacy of the arrangement]

A popular tabloid paper has suggested that the victim (known has Venus ) met her kidnappers on an internet forum frequented by people with alcohol problems. It is suspected that the two kidnappers, who have been 'grooming' venus for almost 3 years, are the notorious sender of nork-related emails, and the allegedly vegan lesbian known affectionately as bunny-killer

jesuswhatnext · 11/04/2013 10:10

Grin sounds like a fun evening! i soooo wish i had been there!

venusandmars · 11/04/2013 10:58

Phew! Escaped!

While I was being held captive, I had a little look around for some of the other babes that I've not seen posting for a while...

rural ? Silver ? mia ? noteven ? and many, many more. I even had a look for lovely mouseface in case she was curled up in need of care and attention.

Message to ALL Babes - past present, posting or lurking:
Please don't be put off by all of our fun and jokes. Behind this is a group of people accepting that we have a real problem, and deciding for each of us, how we want to tackle it. It was really lovely to have the chance to meet up with people who have been so much of the support that I have had over the past years, yet ma and isindie are only part of that support (sorry girls Wink). Some of you (even some who might have only posted once or twice) may never know how much a random post has helped me at a low point, or reminded me of how my life used to be, or encouraged me to respond.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is whether you're a frequent poster, or an occasional lurker, or trying but lapsed, or feeling scared by the speed at which this thread moves along, please, please always feel that there is a space for you to post here. Just post your name and let us know that you're still around. Or post about how great things are, or tell us that you're struggling, or tell me to piss of and mind my own business Shock

I know it can be difficult to keep up with everyone's story (goodness knows, I struggle) and impossible to name-check everyone, but I really hope that people are not put off from posting by the mad chatter that goes on, or for fear of being rejected. If you think you have a drinking problem, then you're welcome here.

And thank you to every single one of you - you cannot imagine how much you have helped me to change.
Venus xx

venusandmars · 11/04/2013 11:01

fullofhopefullness · 11/04/2013 11:24

The lovely caringness (if thats not a word it should be!!) Is just whats needed!! So a much easier than I expected day 11 for me!

Fairenuff · 11/04/2013 11:45

Well done full, so sorry that the ear is taking so long to clear up.

Joey How you doin' ?

I would like to second what venus said. All are welcome, the bus tickets never expire and, as Mouse likes to remind us, you can check out any time you want but you can never leave.

I'm having to kill a bit of time at the moment so had a look at the Yoni thread. Oh my!

Hello, very wooly headed this morning/afternoon.
Full of regret, anxious, look like an eighty year old... sigh.
Got a lot of thinking to do today. I'm thinking I just can't drink at all. I find it impossible to stop once I start and yet EVERY TIME I tell myself that "I'll just have the one".
Feeling very sorry for myself today.
VENUS thankyou for your post, really means a lot.
Thanks for just being here everyone.
I'll come back later.

scarlet what is your danger time? You need to plan something to do, change your habit, have a meal at a different time, go out for a swim or something.

Come back and talk to us some more. It's only one day. Only 6 or 7 hours really. You can do it.

curryeater · 11/04/2013 14:09
