Thanks all. My hair wobble is over and I'm now convinced that not only do I look cool I also look 10 years younger Smile. I'm off to buy skinny jeans and converse!

Oh, and a large fish for the next pic

BillMasen · 06/03/2013 11:13

I think with people's communication style it's just the way they are and you can't really change it. I'm a texter so will text loads and respond quickly. Same with emails. If you called me then I might not answer, and frankly be a bit slow at calling you back. With these slow resp

BillMasen · 06/03/2013 11:13

Oops

Responders I think you just have to decide if you can live with it or not

ike1 · 06/03/2013 11:17

Bill...now...what about my suggestions eh????

BillMasen · 06/03/2013 11:18

I need to google what they actually are!!

Snapespeare · 06/03/2013 11:21

NO!!! NO SKINNY JEANS!!!

mercury7 · 06/03/2013 11:22

I agree, it's important to take into account a persons default communication style before drawing conclusions about what it means if you dont hear from them frequently.

Some people will only say something if they have something to say...others seems to need constant feedback and validation and will contact you for no particular reason.

I get really pissed off with people who just want to text banter all day long

BillMasen · 06/03/2013 11:23

Faux hawk is kind of dated now and I sort of had a bit like that 10 years ago. Fade.... No chance
Buzz cut.... No chance

I'd worry with really short hair that I'd have a weird shaped head that I'd never noticed before!

WarmFuzzyFun · 06/03/2013 11:26

Merc like the banter we do on here all day long?WinkSmile

Yeah, I'd hate that!

lulubellaboozle · 06/03/2013 11:26

where as I love text banter all day and get pee'd off if people aren't up for it ..... it takes all sorts, you just have to find the sort that suits you Smile

ike1 · 06/03/2013 11:29

Now Bill ....you are pushing away my suggestions out of hand there.....you neer know until you try...an orange buzz cut could look good on someone who is 'something in finance' ....

ike1 · 06/03/2013 11:30

never

ike1 · 06/03/2013 11:32

YOU said you trusted our opinion Bill (snigger).

mercury7 · 06/03/2013 11:35

WFF I think this is very different from 'text tennis'
It's a loose group style of discussion and banter where no one person feels under any pressure to contribute or respond.

There are intertwined strands of conversation & subject matter...people can dip in and out according to personal preference.

At least thats how it appears to me?

VoiceofUnreason · 06/03/2013 11:45

Bill those of us who look younger than our years can always 'get away' with wearing Converse. I have four pairs in different colours. I find the boot ones SO comfy. But skinny jeans? Hell no. Nor ones that hang low and show off your undies.

lubeybooby · 06/03/2013 11:49

WFF and velvet he's now saying it's not a total lost cause Hmm

He just thinks he was pushing it anyway for time and has just had more work landed on him making it even more difficult. Sigh.

Juliette Mr S is the 24 yr old I was planning to pounce on, on my trip. We had a dinner date but he has cancelled.

Scrazy · 06/03/2013 11:51

I don't mind a certain amount of banter if it's from the right person. I think it's telling of my feelings how I react to texts of someone.

Velvet, you would need the patience of a saint to put up with C's style of communication.

OWW I would be firm with your chat though, don't talk him into thinking it's OK to keep messing you around until he has less stress, that really isn't going to be any better for you.

Bill, your hair is fine, it's a young style but you can still pull it off.

Ike, it's either lack of basic social skills with the ones who are hard work with messages or arrogance, either way I would get bored of it and stop.

WarmFuzzyFun · 06/03/2013 11:56

Aww, lubey so disappointing, eh? So it's still a possible. ( you still have plenty to keep you busy)

True Merc , I see your point. I think in the beginning of a relationship the text tennis gets too intense, I usually pull back just before the meet up otherwise nothing left to say!

mercury7 · 06/03/2013 12:00

I've found (and I think other have made similar remarks?) that a person who texts prolifically at the start is more likely to cool off and lose interest once they feel they've pulled.

The old 'all about the chase' thing Wink

lubeybooby · 06/03/2013 12:11

WFF, that's true, I do, but now not while I'm away and have an all expenses paid full works huuuuge suite at the Radisson and free brekkie... I was so looking forward to at least the possibility of posh hotel based naughtiness. Hmpf, hmpf and triple hmpf.

I will enjoy it anyway of course, but some sharing of it in nice male company would have been so very good.

Oh well. The good news is I'm officially allowed to have sex again now and will be doing so in about an hour's time. Long time old fwb dropping in for Coffee. Don't really fancy him anymore but needs must and he's good at it!

Men should never wear skinny jeans...

Velvet: I have to say, the lack of communication from Cuthbert would drive me mental to be honest, I think you have been very, very, patient.

Although, I kind of agree with mercury in that the nonobligatory, 'Hey, what u up 2?' kind of texts, tend to bore me....

EternalRose · 06/03/2013 12:19

Oh and have a nice 'session' lubey...Grin

lulubellaboozle · 06/03/2013 12:21

Rose agree, I love text banter, that doesn't mean the "Hey what u up 2" type, that is very boring ..... I like the shared jokes, the hint of cheekiness and flirting, silly pictures etc ... the one's that make you smile as soon as you read them and then deliberate over an even wittier response, that's fun!

EternalRose · 06/03/2013 12:41

Lulubellaboozle, I like all that type of stuff too...

But it's when they text you 'Hey what you up 2' and then in the evening they blimmin well text it again, and you are like... Confused Confused
