Evening all. As you were.

OP posts:

Flips I shall have to claim that I have been 'juicing' or some such 'Hello' nonsense..

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:21

WFF now...dont get me started on the eye bloody bags! I am booked in for 10 sessions of CACI eye massage treatment starting this week. Failing that I am seriously considering an eye bag removal op!

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:25

I have also bought some rmk concealer its a Japanese make. Suppose to be really good for coverage.

Nomorepain · 19/02/2013 19:27

I've got date with mr Irish tomorrow! I'm getting scared! Really scared!!!!! I need to calm the hell down! I feel like either im going to really like him and he is going to hate me or he is going to like me and I will not like him. Just can't get my head round to thinking it could actually be a good date!!

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:27

This chick aint aging gracefully....no bloody way! I will not go gentle into that goodnight...fuck off!

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:30

Or Nomore you might just feel a bit meh. Hopefully it'll all be cool tho. Good luck! I have done 10ish dates so far (not a huge amount compared to the veterans ) but it does dull the expectations somewhat.

I will still get nervous like you tho!

luckybun · 19/02/2013 19:32

Hi - hope you don't mind me joining you - but I've got a date next week - eeeeeek from POF - first time Internet dating for me - he seems really nice been messaging for a few days and spoke on the phone last night - for 48 minutes!! And just been speaking to him again and conversation flowed well! Just wanted you lovely lot to advise me what to do - safety precaution wise.
Thanks xx

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:37

Hi Bun, Welcome!
I usually:
Keep the first date short
Somewhere busyish
Rarely drink much
Drive
Dont tell exactly where I live
Some peeps let others know where they are going and times etc.

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:38

LOL unlikely to be shagging on the first date with the above 'rules'....

luckybun · 19/02/2013 19:41

Thanks - good advice - actually I only get one child free night a week and have to go to ikea and he's working till late ish so have agreed to meet in the car park and then decide what to do - and they say romance is dead hey!!! I think ill text a friend and tell them and maybe even get them to call. Kind of havent told anyone in RL yet so ill have to pick my least judgy friend!!

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:44

I think it was Merc that had quite a reasonable first date in the cafe of a supermarket after doing the weekly shopping! Have a good idea about where you want to go before you arrive.

luckybun · 19/02/2013 19:46

Love it! Multi taskers us birds!!

KinNora · 19/02/2013 19:46

There's a video on YouTube by gossmakeupartist which shows how to make undereye bags disappear, can't link to it for some reason.

You need a peach colour corrector to neutralise the blue shadows if you've got them and then slap a concealer over the top.

Get me, I'm Gok

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:47

Let the judgers judge...you'll soon come not to care!! My OD antics were the talk of the pub when I first started 3 years ago...noone bats an eyelid now...

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:48

Yeah but apparently you have to highlight underneath the bag...ffs!!

KinNora · 19/02/2013 19:50

Yeah, that's the one, Ike - it works, I bought a Ben Nye concealer/corrector wheel to give it a go and it's vair good

luckybun · 19/02/2013 19:51

Bobbi brown do a good concealer it's a cream and a powder on a cute little compact

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:52

It was those bloody photos that I took 3 weeks ago that has brought on this avalanche of 'self-improvement'. Prior to that I was happy to slouch about, hair dragged back, roots showing, eyebags n jowles flapping. I thought I was lush! Crikey...the camera never lies eh??

KinNora · 19/02/2013 19:53

Yes, it's good, Lucky but I ended up never using the powder because it sat in my wrinkles fine lines.

JulietteMontague · 19/02/2013 19:53

Lucky if you are meeting in the Ikea car park I would have a plan of what you want to do so you can suggest it. Otherwise you run the risk of having to refusing an offer of car sharing (and feeling awkward), having to follow him to an unknown place etc. You could do worse that the Ikea cafe, or make sure you know of a cafe of your choosing. Otherwise, what Ike said.

Warm all I know is Touche Eclat is useless and makes you look like a panda.

Nomore is this the model?

KinNora · 19/02/2013 19:53

The camera lies all the time, Ike

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:53

Yeah I heared about the Bobbi Brown concealer...not the Ben Nye one...I shall be experimenting this year I think!!

KinNora · 19/02/2013 19:54

Touché éclat is shite Juliette.

luckybun · 19/02/2013 19:55

Hate the camera but hate even more driving a car with a sun roof (mine doesnt have one) and then looking in the rear view mirror and seeing a squillion grey sodding hairs when you obliviously thought you have none!!

ike1 · 19/02/2013 19:55

Yeah Touche Eclat just makes the bags glow... you are being kind to an old lady Kin...
