Do you call it sex or "making love"?

My new boyfriend (3months) asks to make love to me rather than just saying sex. I think it's incredibly cute but neither of us have said the L word or anything yet. Do many guys say this?!

Loveisthemessage · 12/04/2012 23:13

having a damn good rummage

MrsPtoBe · 12/04/2012 23:28

Either me or DP tell the other they're gonna get a good seeing to later, or (once kids are in bed) DP just gets his cock out! That's usually a good indication of what's coming next..oops, pardon the pun there! Wink
It's only called 'making lurve' in this house if we're pissing about.

fortyplus · 12/04/2012 23:35

About 30 years ago a guy asked if it was ok to have sex with me for the first time by saying 'Can I come down on you?' Grin

StealthNinja · 13/04/2012 07:10

Depends, if already in bed we just get on with it. If feeling frisky in the evening DH asks if I fancy a roll around in the hay. I usually ask if he'd fancy a few pumps (romantic, me). If in front of the DC he asks if I'd like a sausage sandwich later. DD is the eldest at only 2 and a bit but must stop this at some point I suppose.

ettiketti · 13/04/2012 07:36

"Tidying up" here.....helps in front of the children to just say "shall we do some tidying up later?" More often tho, DH just texts me something rude he has planned for me later that evening :o

flipflapdoodle · 13/04/2012 07:40

Recently heard the phrase ' a bit of the Oh be joyful' which I think I might adopt.....

AfishhCalledElvira · 13/04/2012 07:41

DH says 'husband and wife time' which is abbreviated to H&W time in a text which always amuses me.... Sounds so formal Grin

picnicbasketcase · 13/04/2012 07:48

Making love is a revolting phrase. I'm trying to think what DP and I call it... Pretty much anything bur making love I think Grin
That 'beef bus' thing is pretty horrible too, it's in a Bloodhound Gang song

FateLovesTheFearless · 13/04/2012 07:58

I wouldn't be Blush about liking it first1! I think it's really sweet.

I had a one night stand when I was eighteen. About two weeks later I got a text saying....Fancy a pump?! Hmm

Sex, fuck, making love all fine. Shag or pump not fine!

first1 · 13/04/2012 08:05

Shag, fuck are both yuck and sounds like casual sex to me.

A good seeing-to
Think it's a shame 'making love' is so cringey, I'm sure if we all said it more often we'd lose the embarrassment.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 13/04/2012 08:43

My ex used to call it boneing - one of the many reasons he's an ex. Grin

first1 · 13/04/2012 08:50

I don't get why making love is deemed cringeworthy though. I think it reflects emotional intimacy not just physical so how can that be a bad thing, especially with the person you care most about Confused

MyDogShitsShoes · 13/04/2012 09:28

We have taken to calling it 'Marital Relations'.

MyDogShitsShoes · 13/04/2012 09:57

I'm getting horrible shivers now at the thought of being stroked in the style of a feather whilst having "I want to make love to you" whispered in my ear all breathy-like.

I bet he'd want to suck your toes too.

Dear god we need a vom emoticon!

first1 · 13/04/2012 10:13

Alright, similar question...what does your dp/dh call you? My dp calls me baby, gorgeous or angel and yes we "make love". Does that make him "vom-like"?? Angry
