Do you call it sex or "making love"?

My new boyfriend (3months) asks to make love to me rather than just saying sex. I think it's incredibly cute but neither of us have said the L word or anything yet. Do many guys say this?!

Although, not always sexy!

TheSinglePringle · 12/04/2012 20:59

It's a bonk!

The term "making love" reminds me far too much of sex education - as metered out by a stiffly embarrassed matronly lady at school.

tbh it's nearly as bad as baby dancing

pinktrees · 12/04/2012 21:02

Making love is a vomity phrase. I would divorce DH if he asked me to make love!

dearprudence · 12/04/2012 21:04

I imagine the type of man who says 'making love' is the kind who'd ask if he can kiss you. Doesn't do it for me at all.

We usually say sex, although I remember DH asking me in the very early days if I fancied a fuck. Now that did it for me. Grin

AKissIsNotAContract · 12/04/2012 21:04

We call it fucking. I find 'making love' cringey.

SandStorm · 12/04/2012 21:04

We shag.

first1 · 12/04/2012 21:06

I really like it Blush

We say all sorts of things but 'making love' only as a pisstake! It really is a nauseating expression, it makes me want to hurl !

Reminds me of those hairy seventies books the joy of sex for some reason!

foxeeroxee · 12/04/2012 21:10

We call it either 'fun times' Blush or 'nadging'
'fancy a nadge love' Wink
Or good old fucking!!
'making love' makes me gip.if oh said that i would poke him in the eye.

PimpMyTunnel · 12/04/2012 21:12

Lol at the person who said she gives her husband the lifted eyebrow look and he knows what she means. I do that and its completely obvious what i want ;)

bekspolo · 12/04/2012 21:13

FANDANGO :)

I think you can make love and have sex. The former being an emotional connection, perhaps softer, the latter being more of a physical act??

moomoo1967 · 12/04/2012 21:14

Goldentime lol Grin

DoNotAngerTheWookiee · 12/04/2012 21:17

No shagging or bonking here....makes me shudder saying or typing them (also can't stand the word 'snogging'). We don't say the whole 'making love' either. We generally just go with the flow and one of us will say 'do you want to?' and go from there. Never really thought about it up until now, though.

PleaseChooseAnotherNN · 12/04/2012 21:20

I say fancy a bonk? Dp Says shall we go upstairs. If we are already in bed I grab his cock or he pokes me.in the arse with it.

Sariah · 12/04/2012 21:26

We call it a ride - do you fancy a ride later (I'm Irish)
If I was in need of more of a connection rather than just a good ride I would veer more towards the making love end of the scale though not sure I could actually say it out loud without gagging on it.

Angelico · 12/04/2012 21:33

My DH (Irish) always says make love or something romantic which I find a bit vomititious at times :o I'm the one who is dirtier about it and he is always vaguely disturbed :o

scarletforya · 12/04/2012 21:39

Ha yeh Sariah gettin the roiyde Grin

Flanelle · 12/04/2012 21:56

Well, when we've been snogging and groping for ages one of us really only has to say, "fancy a lie down?"

Flanelle · 12/04/2012 21:57

I LOVE snogging. And I like the word. And shagging.

Littlemissimpatient · 12/04/2012 22:00

I think it's cute. My DH says it sometimes, but more in reference rather than do you want to if that makes sense
Normally it's just "do it" after 7 years we both know what "it" means Grin

upahill · 12/04/2012 22:05

I can't thing of us actually saying anything!!!
We just get on and do it!!!!

naughtymummy · 12/04/2012 22:07

definately shagging here "making love" is what my parents call it ! Had aboyfriend who called it bonking, totally went off him ,just couldn't stand it. Sex or fucking is ok with me too
