Anybody with an iPhone 3 please help - can porn sites somehow show in advanced options?

I would be so grateful if someone with an iPhone 3 could help as the google searches are not very comprehensive. I looked at my husbands iPhone last night and in settings, safari, advanced options it lists a lot of websites. Many that were listed were porn sites and adult dating sites.

My husband swears he has not looked at these sites and says they must be cookies... The advanced option is only on iPhone 3. I don't suppose someone with an iPhone 3 could check for me and see if there are any sites listed there that they have not visited? Thank you so much in advance.

Not sure but my 4S has this setting and the websites coming up all seem to be ones I've visited.

Hate to say that the list on my phone are all sites that I have visited.

Thanks dairy -does it have the advanced setting? It does sound possible it could be cookies but just not sure what to believe

Hi empire -thank you. Is that in advanced options or history? His history is clear, it was in advanced where they list all the sites and you press show all and it shows all sites and energy they use (or whatever the figure beside the site name is!)

I've just checked mine, and I'm also sorry to say it's just sites I've visited.

Advanced options - all the sites in a list and some numbers xxKB type things afterwards.

Thanks guys - it seems pretty conclusive... Why visit an adult dating site (clearly just sex) if you haven't done anything/ aren't planning to? He denies all knowledge and was very keen to show me his browsing history which is all clear :-(

And for him to say it cookies - you can only get cookies from sites you have visited

(although I'm slightly baffled when I visited concrete-online.co.uk , but that's one out of hundreds I recognise)

I have an 'accept cookies' setting, and it's set to 'From visited', so if his is set to that then they can't be sneaking in at random

Yes it has advanced setting. Tbh the fact his history is clear just means he's cleared it to remove evidence. Seems he's lying, sorry

I've got a 3gs and cannot see the advanced options bit under settings.

When I use the search field on safari it brings up a list of everything I put in recently.

However if I enter a word that I haven't used then it does suggest stuff that I haven't been to.

Not sure if that muddies the waters further.

Cookies relate only to sites you've visited. It's not the same as spam which enters your email without you requesting it. When you visit a website, the website's details are stored in a cookie and then when you enter the website name again, it takes the data from the cache so you can view it more quickly.

You need to block 3rd party cookies. Most come from advert banners, but you need to think which websites you've visited which advertise these sites so you can avoid them.

Thanks Olympic - the advanced automatically brings up 10 or so sites and you press show all and it lists many more sites. I Couldnt find a comprehensive answer via google or the apple links

My advanced settings also just show sites I have visited. He could easily have cleared his browsing history in case you ever looked as he might not have known about the advanced settings. Sorry :(

Sorry curious I'm an Android user so I don't know. Have you tried the apple website? They probably have some in depth manuals on the system and it might save you from having to phone them up!

I didn't think he would and can't imagine where he'd find the time.... Why use some random stranger for sex when you have a willing wife?? I don't get why he would do that
