We are a real mixed bunch of people, all trying to control or give up the booze - ONE DAY AT A TIME.

hi all, just a quickie - i really am quite poorly - cant type much, am just too ill (not being a diva, just a sick old woman i reckon it is full blown flu) - will be back tomorrow hopefully - back off to bed!

Oh JWN, hope you feel better soon.
Am still determined not to drink tonight Red but I am very self-conscious in social situations so tonight will be a real test for me.

desire I know exactly what you mean about being awkward in social situations. However I find that when I do attend them sober and perservere a little I do tend to enjoy myself. It's a hell of a lot better than waking up after a pissed evening with the usual, 'WTF happened? How did I get home? Who's that next to me? ' The self-loathing, shame, guilt etc etc... Just make sure you have a plan! Will be sending good, sober thoughts to you lovely x

I'm feeling much more positive thanks Red, still gutted about neighbour but not meant to be I guess. I am visiting a friend later and driving so won'r be home until 8 ish so hopefully won't want a drink then.

Dito Desire about being self-conscious in social things, I usually end up drinking half a bottle a small glass before I go out so that walking in at the begining is OK and then gulp sip my wine too quickly. I went out for lunch recently and hardly knew anyone but was driving so couldn't drink, then my car wouldn't start so I got a lift but decided not to drink as I was already in the sober 'mindset'. I felt awkward for the first half an hour but then amazed myself by being 'me'. I had always the 'me' that is in social situations had to be a 'tipsy me' but I guess not. Was a bit of a revelation. Not sure if my story made sense but hopefull you get the meaning

Zany you are making total sense and like you I always had few drinks before meeting people and way too much when in their company so tonight should be interesting

Afternoon Babes.

I got a full 6 hours sleep last night as DH did the night shift, and he's doing it again tonight.

Nemo is poorly again, swollen, gooey green eye snot, temp, runny nose, lathargic etc.....

We are having a day of snuggle.

mouse birthday night was a lot of fun ! Change of plan tonight though, weather is horrific (so much snow - AGAIN) so BF is going to cook a nice meal for us both instead . So glad you managed to get 6 hours sleep, yay! And hopefully another good sleep tonight. I hope that our lovely Nemo feels better soon x

zany I hope you get through the evening and I am sorry that the neighbour thing has not worked out. Maybe just not meant to be? Sending you happy vibes!

Hopefull Nemo will be ill less frequently once it starts getting warmer & drier Mouse. How was he last summer, at least this year he will be stronger being bigger/older. Car OK at the moment but I still haven't forgiven it for not starting on Xmas Day.

I'm not up to much this weekend, may do a bit of an early spring clean and back to the gym for me

Yes, cleaning here too after the builder has been again this week!

Dust everywhere.

Out with my parents on Sunday for mine and my dad's birthday (not mine until next Friday, that's the 14th, watch out for that massive hint ) to the local lovely pub.

Great food! Sod the diet for one day.

'Date night' Saturday as DD is staying at GPs house. Just Nemo to look after so DH and I can spoil ourselves a bit with nice food and spend some time just the two of us!!

Summer is better for Nemo, cold and damp is horrific, plus we have heating issues and damp issues in this house, which we are trying to resolve with a heating grant but they are taking FOREVER to sort it out.

Luckily, we have a wood burner in one room so I just try to keep him in there!

Red - I'm sure tonight will be just as lovely xx

mouse hope you enjoy your date night ! I am sure that you will have lots of fun! Am sure tonight will be lovely too - I never object to people cooking for me ! I do not fancy traipsing out and about in this anyway!
