Just felt that I'd like to start a thread for anyone that is happily married and madly in love with their DH/DP's! I wouldn't swap my DH for the world we've been together 13yrs have one DS age 6 and are in as much love now as ever! surely i'm not the only one who is happy?

Can't say I've ever been 'madly in love' with anyone, whatever that means. But have known dh for 31 years and been married to him for 27 of them. We've sort of toddled along together in reasonable harmony for most of that time. All those shared experiences kind of cement you to the other person - and I couldn't imagine ever being with anyone else now.

HappyDaddy · 25/09/2005 20:47

"Only" been together 5 years and married 18 months but I'm very very very very very happy.
And very very lucky, too.

hunkermunker · 25/09/2005 20:48

DH is easily pleased, so yes, we're happily married

We share a sense of humour, which helps a lot

And we've been together aeons. Almost half my life!

brownbunny · 25/09/2005 20:49

very very very very glad to hear that happy daddy!

very very very very good, brownbunny.

I like your name, too.

Shades1 · 25/09/2005 20:52

Honestly I'd say yes, we've had our up's and down's and once (ok twice) even been packed ready to go - but he's my soul mate, he understands me, a bit too much for my likeing sometimes, I've had someone else who's known him since he was 15 today tell me what a wonderful father and husband he is, and I could only agree, (I'd been out at a health spa day and he's taken the children to a family birthday party alone)

and told him myself tonight, something I don't always do, o.k. almost never do, but he is, and i hope to God that one day we are "dancing the flunky chicken on our golden wedding anniversary" but I know it means work and at some times bloody hard work, but for me it's well worth the effort.

Nemo1977 · 25/09/2005 20:52

brownbunny · 25/09/2005 20:59

I am married to the most wonderful man in the world. He is kind, funny, honest, thoughtful, kind, very sexy, generous, a wonderful father, kind, a good listener, can talk about his feelings ( mostly), does more than his share of housework. And did i say kind????

We have been together for a long time, have 4 1/2 children and I love him to bits. And even though I am 8 months pregnant I still fancy the pants off him....

His best qualities are that he cleans the bathroom, washes the kitchen floor and is great in bed

zzoey · 25/09/2005 21:03

We're happy too. just celebrated our 7th anniversary - and next weekend we're going away for our first ever w/e without kids. dd 3 and 2.
I agree talking helps! and sharing interests and allowing each other different interests/ time out. mainly was choosing right person in first place - just knew when I met him... can't say how. thought he was fab then and still do.
feel very very lucky

brownbunny · 25/09/2005 21:05

KristinaM Glad to here you still find your man sexy! always important! still fancy the pants off mine too!

Very happy - together 8 years, married for 2 & expecting first db in March.
Survived 14 months of him working away & seeing him 12 hours a week & a few months of me travelling the world without him.
Think secret is we share some friends, interests & same sense of humour but always given each other space for our own 'lives' too.

crystaltips · 25/09/2005 21:19

been together 23 years
Keep reminding him how lucky he is to have me

I think that he's a diamond

logic · 25/09/2005 21:31

Dh and I are very, very happy too. Been together 8 years, married for 5, we have a little boy and a baby girl. I think our relationship gets better all the time...

misdee · 25/09/2005 21:32

love my dh, but i;d swap him for basically the same man but with with a working heart.

crazydazy · 25/09/2005 21:52

We've been together six years have DD (5) and DS (3) and he's a kind, sexy and loving partner and protective, gentle father and I am so lucky to have him . He would spend his last penny on everyone but himself and would die for me and our kids.

stitch · 25/09/2005 21:52

my parents are happiily married.
i love my dh, but most definitely am not happily married. and i think he loves me too.

paolosgirl · 25/09/2005 21:56

Yes, happily married here There are times when he drives me mad, and there are times when I really don't like him , but I love him to bits and would be lost without him. He makes me laugh, gives me the confidence and encouragement to do anything I want to do, is a wonderful father, and is my best friend in the world. We've been married for 10 years, together for 11.

Gobbledigook · 25/09/2005 22:11
